Hi I am trying to sync my ip3 but wont allow me to transfer music purchased on the phone to itunes on the laptop. To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.
If your sister doesn't know the password for her old ID, and if her old ID is an earlier version of her current ID, she needs to temporarily recreate the old ID so you can delete if from your phone using her current password.  To do this, have her go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with her current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to her old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to her old email address.  You can now use the password for her current ID to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for her old account ID.  After you do this, Next, have your sister recreate her current ID again by going back to https://appleid.apple.com and changing her primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.
Then your can save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to the camera roll on your device, then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted.  You will be prompted to either keep or delete the iCloud data from your device.  If the data is already in another account you can choose Delete.  If you need to migrate it to another account, choose Keep, then choose Merge when signing into the new account.

  • Is it possible to increase the number of authorised computers with itunes.

Hi with Apple now selling more devices than ever is it possible to increase the number of authorised computers for sharing on iTunes.
we have 2 x MBP and a 27" iMac 2 x ipads 3 x ipods and 2 x iphones in the house, we would obviously like to share the one account with all of them and I think that seeing the number has not changed in years yet the number of products able to use. It would make sense to at least double the authorised number.

You are limited to 5 devices. Maybe Home Sharing offers options

  • Authorising computers to play content from iTunes Store...

I've recently started downloading films, tv shows and the odd album from the iTunes store. I've spent about $200 in the last while, and it's a great service. Something crossed my mind last night...
I'm currently using my macbook pro to download content, and then I either play it on my macbook or transfer it to my apple tv. All working fine...
Now, I've decided that I'm going to get a mac mini to use as a media server. I'm going to use it to play dvds, hook an elgato eyetv up to it to record tv, rip my dvd library, and finally I'm going to be able to free up my macbook pro from downloading content and ripping dvds. I'm then going to transfer my apple tv to the bedroom and the mac mini will take it's place in the living room.
What crossed my mind was, when I set up this server that will make 2 computers that I will need to authorise, my girlfriend's laptop makes 3. I'm not entirely sure if the apple tv counts as one authorisation but it probably does so that makes 4. What happens when I update one of these computers...say get a new macbook pro... then in a couple of years I upgrade the mac mini and maybe get a mac pro too?? I'm going to lose all my content eventually.
    My question 2 questions are:
    1) Can I de-authorise a computer and replace it with another computer?
    or
    2) Do you think after X number of years, apple will unlock old content so that it will play on other computers?
I hope I can de-authorise computers, otherwise I'll be stuck with these computers if I want to keep this content... I'm now seriously thinking about stopping using the iTunes store. It just seems criminal to spend so much cash on stuff that isn't going to work in a couple of years...

    Hi,
From iTunes, click Store, then Deauthorize Computer...
Steve Jobs did announce that they will update iTunes store such that you would have the choice of buying licensed music (i.e. restricted to authorised computers) and license less music (no restrictions).
The snag was, you would have to pay more for license less music (but, at least you would have the choice).
Read more about it at http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2007/04/02itunes.html
Now, if you find anything that could help me update my iPod firmware, I would be most grateful....
I hope this answers your questions...
    Regards,

  • Authorised computers list

I have 5 authorised computers on my account and want to see a list so that I can delete those related to a failed/broken PC. I cannot use that PC to do it.

Once you reach 5 authorized computers, you can de-authorize all authorized computers from one of the authorized computers followed by re-authorizing each computer from the computer you need or want authorized.

  • How do I authorise computers and iPads to use iTunes related purchases

how do I authorise computers and iPads to use iTunes related purchases

You can authorise up to 5 computers via iTunes by signing in with your ID.
On iPads you enter your iTunes/AppStore store ID in Settings if it's not configured or different to your iCloud ID (if you have one).  These do not count as computer authorisations.

  • Why are my purchased tunes not available on authorised computers?

I have 4 authorised computers, and downloaded a purchased CD from iTunes when I was in Victoria (4000 kms away). Now home in Queensland, I can't access this music, or even see it in my list of purchased music. My 'purchased' list wrongly shows it as being my entire playlist.
    Help please.

Thanks for replying, but I would have thought that having authorised computers would mean that I could access the purchased items from any of those computers. Otherwise, what is the point of authorising them in the first place?
Does anyone else agree with this?
And no, I haven't done anything that tricky with an iPod - I don't have one.

  • How can i view my authorised computers

I seem to have 5 computers authorised - bit strange as I've only got 3!  And I don't want to unauthorise all, and there's no choice to select one to remove.  How can I see which computers are authorised and keep my phone back ups?

You can't see a list of authorised computers, you can only see how many are authorised. Have you had other computers in the past, or updated/reinstalled the OS on them, without deauthorising them ?
Deauthorising an individual computer (which you can only do directly on the computer), or deauthorising all, does not remove any content from those computers nor affect backups that are stored on them - all it means is that you won't be able to use that account's downloads on them until you reauthorise the account (which you should be able to do immediately).

  • De-authorising computers for home sharing

I have had two laptops 'die' recently, and have two replacement ones. Because I have reached my 5 limit on home sharing authorised computers, itunes will not let me set up home sharing on my new laptops - it says I have to de-authorise other computers. I cannot do this because they are dead. How do I fix this - anyone????

If you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.
For instructions, see the following document:

  • Maximum number of authorisations reached, but why?

I have only one machine running Vista but every time I upgrade iTunes (like today when I upgraded to 7.3) it complains that this machine is not authorised to play the tunes. So I dutifully authorise again only to be greeted this time by the message that I have exceeded the maximum number of 5.
    Why is this happening?
How do I fix the situation?
    And loving it,

  • HT1420 can you reset your maximum of 5 authorisations for an ipod touch?

  • How can I edit authorised computers and not deauthorise all 5?

I am trying to find out how I can deauthorise several computers without doing all 5 that are listed in my account?

You can only do that on the Computers themselves.
If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
You will need to Deauthorise all five,
Then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time..

  • HT1420 how can i get a list or authorised computers

Hi I see i has 5 computers listes as Authorized but only have 3 item Imac, Iphone and Ipad how can i check what the others are?

I'm not aware that you can see a list of them anywhere - have you had other computers in the past and not deauthorised them and/or upgraded the OS on your iMac (the iPhone and iPad aren't computers) without deauthorising it first ? If you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then (re-)authorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.
