HT1349 iMatch keeps locking up iTunes as it tries to set itself up on my PC...

I am using iTunes, and trying to set up iMatch, and it keeps locking up iTunes when matching songs to the store and uploading my songs that are not in the store. It just won't finish and basically shuts down iTunes in the process... Apple online support keeps asking me for my serial #, but my main computer is a PC. I use an iphone and ipad to sync with my computer's itunes and thought iMatch might be the way to go to get everything together...

Hello there, deelish.
A great Knowledge Base article that has some valid information is:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
The pertinent section for you would be:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues.

  • I keep getting an error code 6753 trying to set up airport express

I've been trying to install the airport express with no success. I restarted, pressed the reset button and it's back to factory settings. When i try to do anything it generates an error code 6753. Any thoughts?

Well it probably means exactly what it says... How much free space is there on your hard drive where the iTunes Media folder resides? I believe there is also an obscure bug that can occur when software doesn't read the true value of the free space properly, and the workaround is, perversely, to duplicate some content so that with less actual free space the software in question perceives it as more. I've no idea if iTunes is affected by such a bug.

  • Dual Dock Locks-Up iTunes

    Hi all
My dual dock seems to keep locking-up iTunes.
It first happened last week when I connected my iPhone to my Mac when it was sleeping, the Mac woke-up and started iTunes but it didnt allow iTunes to fully open and altough it did come-up "waiting for iPhone" on the screen it never went any further.
As far as the Mac was concerned iTunes was open and if I hit play on my keyboard it would play a song but there was no actual program screen.
To get iTunes to open I had to restart the Mac and then it worked perfectly, quiting iTunes and then opening it again would not fix it.
This would happen everytime I connected the iPhone to the Mac when it was asleep or in screen saver state. I tried unplugging the dock and then reconnecting it, putting it into another USB port, went out and bought a new USB hub, connected it straight to the Mac USB port.... everytime it locked-up iTunes.
In the end I am now using the old iPhone dock and am charging the headset with the travel charger. iTunes has not locked-up since and I have plugged the iPhone into the old dock about 20 times with the Mac asleep and it starts iTunes fully everytime.
I am sure there is no fix for this but it would be nice to be able to use the dual dock without it causing problems to iTunes.

I'm having these problems when the dual dock is plugged into a powered USB hub, but not when plugged directly into my Mac.
Unfortunately there are too many devices that only work when directly plugged into the Mac (especially since Leopard) and the 3 USB ports I have just aren't enough.

My iTunes won't open! It keeps saying 'The iTunes Library.itl is locked on a locked disk or you not have write permission for this file.' Please Help!

this may happen on external drives if:
The external drive was hotpluged (removed) without going the correct "eject" way
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
    First Aid for external drive
    Close iTunes
Unmount (eject) external drive the right way.
    Mount drive again
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up" This will force the filesystem to rescan the file structure of the drive and rebuilding the file system table and journaling file.
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive) restart iTunes
If your iTunes library is on your internal drive, this may happen
The system was not shoot down correct, e.g. "pulled the plug"
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for internal hard drive
    Close iTunes
    Reboot system
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up"
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive)
    Reboot system, restart iTunes
If none of the above fixes your problem, post here.

  • ICloud/iMatch keeps adding duplicates to my iTunes music folder?  What's going on? What am I doing wrong?

Every time I open iTunes, iMatch keeps adding duplicates for some -- not all -- of the files in my music folder.  Each gets a little cloud-with-exclamation-point next to the duplicate. If I manually remove them, they pop up again the next time I open iTunes. The actual files are not duplicated in my local music folders.
What am I doing wrong? Could it be related to the Error 50 message (Cannot save library) I get sometimes.  I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, which stopped that message for a few weeks, but now it's reappearing after I manually deleted  all the duplicates.
    This is driving me crazy.

    What have you tried?
    You opened itunes?
    Connected ipad?
    Went to the music tab?
Selected sync music and selected the music to sync?
    Synced?

  • ITunes Keeps Locking Out!

When I open up iTunes and start moving songs to my iPod, the iTunes program keeps locking me out. When I go to drag files over to my iPod Icon on the left panel, they start copying over... then in the middle of the transfer, the appearance of the iTunes program fonts change slightly and a small white box appear in the upper left hand corner of the program covering up "file" "Edit" and "Control."
If I go into the search panel of Itunes and typoe in anything in that box, instead of it appearing there, the text appears in the small box in the upper left hand corner.
In addition, the iPod itself never comes out of the "Do Not Disconnect" mode.
Anybody have an idea as to what is going on?

As an update, it happened twice yesterday.  Both times I attempted to make a purchase I had to verify stuff.

  • ITunes 9 keeps locking up

I downloaded iTunes 9, but it keeps locking up. I tried re-installing it, but that did not work. Any suggestions?

I'm having similar issues with not much useful to report. I'm hoping to uninstall and revert to 8.x (which worked very well) until they figure it out and or we give 'em enough useful information to correct the issue.

Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
