HT1349 iPhoto v. 9.2.3 suddenly will not open, clicked on icon =ng, tried to open in finder=ng, ?? Help !!...rebooted several times with no luck...any help
Can anyone tell me what the problem may be whereby I cannot open iphoto today neither by clicking the icon in the dock nor by kopening through finder ?? I tried restarting without luck, then tried to shut down and start without luck ?? Would appreciate any help out there ...
(all other apps seem to be opening as usual)
What version of iPhoto do you actually have?
iPhoto Menu -> About iPhoto
If you have iPhoto 08 then the v9.1.5 update will have done nothing. Ditto with iPhoto v8.0.2
You have the most up-to-date version of iPhoto 08 there is.
I cannot open any events in iphoto when I double click on them. I can see the other pictures in each event but that's all.
Check the double click speed on your Mouse.
What happens when you try to open an Event?

Try rebooting. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone should restart. See if you can use it when it comes back up.

Each time I reboot my computer, Firefox 18 will be working in the background after I double click the icon. It does not show up in the task manager. If I double click the icon several times some minutes later, it will finally open up all the windows. The first window will say that an update was unsuccessfully loaded, and it will try again. When that fails, then I close that window and I am good until I reboot again.
I have already tried resetting to default. I also completely uninstalled it with all my personal settings and then reinstalled it.

my home button will not work...however I have heard that there is suppose to be an app
that you can download that looks like a little red dot that you can move over where ever you want to go
and click therefore to bypass the home button....does anyone know anything about this?

I have the iPhone 4S 32 GB and the headphones that came with it will NOT play in left ear. It will also NOT play in my car left speaker when using the auxiliary connection in my car.............. Have only had since February 26, 2012, can't get HELP anywhere , disappointed

My iphone 4s will not shut off. I have tried every combination of sleep/wake and home (round) buttons with no success. Don't know what else to try. (Try telling that to the airline stuardess).

I have been working on a wedding slideshow for days and have over 3,000 pictures in albums on iPhoto. It suddenly will not open without upgrading to Aperture and I can't find any of my photos!!!! I need these photos, to complete the video, not to mention I don't want to lose them. I have had trouble ever since upgrading to Maverick.
Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database. -
My iPhoto suddenly will not drag and drop, nor can I email, or upload to Facebook from iPhoto. I can upload from my iPhone just fine but can not use the photos once they are in iPhoto. I have never had this problem before, it just started. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Have you tried to open a very old iPhoto library from iPhoto 6 or earlier and downloaded
iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.0.? Then it does not suffice to install the upgrader, you need to run it and to upgrade the library.
Or do you get this error message for your current iPhoto library? -
After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version". Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the error message is exactly like that ("Database error: failured to persist version")
No photos will import at all. I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
About the difference? iPhoto and Photos . Are there two softwares?
I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro, iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto. It's call iPhoto library. At one point I turned off streaming.

I have iphoto 9.2.1 and it will not load. After I click on the app it opens but the screen continousley tries to load. Please Help
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. LR 5.6 on Mac desktop all of a sudden will not read any card from any reader but will work on my laptop. I can work on previous images but not import new ones. Even if I create a catalog on laptop and import to my desktop on a thumb drive, the images are only accessible as long as the thumb drive is inserted.
Sounds like you may need to repair the Disk Permissions on your drive where your images are stored.
