I have a Mac and downloaded the most recent Adobe Acrobat version, in order to open PDF's on a site I use.  They changed something recently and advised everyone to get up to date, which I did, but to no avail.  I keep getting a "waiting" message. I have used the Safari "develop" menu to simulate Internet Explorer, but with no luck.
    Any suggestions?

I have a new MAC and when I start it up, the wifi connects ok, but when I wake it up, I have to manually connect it to my wifi, any suggestions?

Take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.
Replacement is the only way to fix broken electronics.

I've heard that resetting the PRAM may solve issues like mine.
It does not hurt to reset the PRAM, so give that a try.
Is the 24GB RAM all Apple RAM, or did you add 3rd Party RAM?  If 3rd Party RAM, this could be the cause.
Do you have 3rd kernel extensions?  3rd Party software can cause problems, especially those that add kernel extensions.  Posting the EtreCheck output would show all such extensions

Did Apple have SSD/HDD combos in 2011?  I really do not know, so I'm asking.  If this SSD/HDD combo is a 3rd Party addition, then disk issues might be an issue.  Then again, a failing disk (Apple's or 3rd Party) can ALWAYS be an issue.
Is your SSD/HDD configured in a Fusion Drive setup?  Again, if this is not original Apple SSD/HDD Fusion Drive setup, is it possible your manual configuration is having issues?

  • I have a Verizon card for Internet service and am trying to set up my new iPad. During the setup iPad recognizes my wireless but can't connect.  Any suggestions?

Updated product info .  Trying to set up Internet in new iPad using a Verizon wireless card.

A wireless card won't help. For set up, you need to connect to a wireless router, or via cable to a computer running itunes.

  • The cap lock on my old MacBook will not release.  Any suggestions

Cannot release the cap lock.  Live 200 miles from apple store. Will appreciate suggestions. Mary

What OS X are you running? You can disable the CAPS LOCK key in the meantime, as a workaround. Starting in Snow Leopard (10.6), you have the ability to manually set modifier keys...If you are running Mountain Lion:
System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys... > Select "No action" from the dropdown menu for "Caps Lock"
For 10.6 and 10.7 I do not know step by step off hand, but the instructions should be very similiar.

  • Burned disk will not eject. Any ideas ?

I have burned photos onto disks many time before with no problem.
This time, the burned disk will not eject.
    Any suggestions ? Thank you.

Launch the Terminal applicaiton and enter the following: drutil tray eject 0 followed by the Enter key.
Or reboot your Mac with the right button on the mouse  held down during the boot.  That will eject the disk.

  • My iPhone 4 has just shut down.  Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge.  Any suggestions

my iPhone 4 has just shut down.  Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge.  Any suggestions?  I did download a ringtone app and went on to iTunes to sync!.

Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

    Hi Arianelleangel,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  If you are having issues trying to update your Aunt's iPad, the troubleshooting steps below may help:
Resolve issues with an over-the-air iOS update - Apple Support
    Update does not complete
If you're installing the update and the progress bar appears to move slowly, be patient. The time an update takes depends on the size of the update and the number of files on the device.
When you're updating over the air, keep your device connected to a power source so that it doesn't run out of power. If your device does run out of power, connect it to a power source and turn on the device to let the update or restore complete.
If the update never completes and the progress bar hasn't moved for an extended time, try restarting your device. If you still see the issue after you restart, see what to do if your device appears frozen or won't start.
I hope this information helps ....

Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers.

I just downloaded Photos and I have lost the ability to easily send photos by email via Outlook.  Any suggestions?

If you use Mac Mail and Microsoft Outlook mail like I do, you could switch from one to the other mail program for send photos.
    iPhoto  >>  Preferences  >>  General tab  >>  E-mail foto's via  >>  select Microsoft Outlook.
Click a photo  in iPhoto  >>  Share  >>  select E-mail …   >>  Microsoft Outlook will be launch.

  • I have just popped a CD into my Superdrive but nothing happens

    I am running an early 2011 Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz Core i5 with 8GB DDR3 and OSX 10.7.5
I have just popped a CD into the superdrive and nothing has happened.
Using the keyboard eject button results in no action.
I managed to place the eject button on the menu bar, but it says "No Drives".
My SuperDrive seems to be disconnected.  It doesnt show in the Finder either.
I confess this is a rarely used drive, it shouldnt be broken as I cannot remember when I used it last.
Can anyone help with how to solve this mystery?  I have a CD in there that I cannot retrieve.

To get the stuck cd out launch Terminal from your Utilities folder and type drutil eject.
Then reset the SMC and pram
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

My screen blacks out and computer starts up again due to an error. Anyone any suggestions what could case this?

    Hello nattygrimm,
I was looking into the issue you are describing and found a great resource to try and fix the issue without having to re install the OS. It is an article called Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199.
    I recommend starting here:
The first and easiest test to try is to see if the issue affects a different user account on your Mac. Each user account has customized preferences and other items stored in its home directory. You'll first need to create an additional user if one does not already exist (follow steps a-h below). Then, log out of the current user and test the issue in the new user account.
If this resolves the issue, there may be an issue with a file in the home directory of the original user account.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Accounts (or choose Users if using Mac OS X v10.2 or earlier).
Click "+" (or click New User if using Mac OS X v10.2 or earlier).
Give the new user a name and short name.
Mac OS X v10.3 or earlier only: Click the Password tab, and give the user a password.
Mac OS X v10.3 or earlier only: Click Security.
Select the checkbox for "Allow user to administer this computer". This makes the user account an administrator.
Click OK, or quit System Preferences.
Work your way down the article as needed.
    All the best,
    Sterling
