  • Dock icons will not disappear when I drag them to desktop or trash

    On my MacBook Pro, when I drag an icon from the dock to the desktop or to trash, it bounces back to where it was on the dock. I tried to move Applescript Editor, AppleWorks 6, Keychain Access, Activity Monitor,  Quick Time Player and several more icons and they all did the same. Each icon that will not disappear, has a blue dot reflection underneath it.
    I moved one of the icons without a blue reflection to the desk top and it did go up in smoke, but as soon as i replaced that icon from finder back to the dock, it also had a blue reflection under it and I could not make it disappear again.
    If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. Thank you so much,
    Arudi

    You're only supposed to drag icons out of the Dock if you want to remove them from it; running applications won't disappear immediately but may do so when quit.
    If you're trying to put icons on the desktop, find the items in the Finder and drag them there with the Option and Command keys held down.

  • Keyboard will not disappear?

    Keyboard will not permit me to use accessory board?

    You have to have a little patience. This is a user to user support forum and It is still early in the day on the east coast of the U.S. We are just getting started.
    It sounds like you want to use a Bluetooth keyboard and you cannot get the iPad virtual keyboard to disappear, correct? Did you try resetting the iPad?
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • My keyboard will not appear when i am using Notes App

    My on screen keyboard does not appear when I use Notes app. The + sign (to add a new note) does not function to create a new note
    Does anyone have any answers
    Thanks

    Try closing the Notes app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Notes 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Notes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • TS3274 My on screen keyboard will not disappear. How do I get this done?

    How do I get the onscreen keyboard to disappear. Tapping the suggested place does not work.

    touch and hold the icon of a keyboard on the bottom right of your onscreen keyboard, in the pop-up menu choose Dock.
    If you never want this to happen again, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard and turn it off

  • IPad keyboard will not dismiss with hide keyboard button

    I have a UITextField on my screen. The keyboard will not disappear when I press the hide keyboard button in the lower right corner. Pressing the "Done" button works just fine and the keyboard will disappear.
    I have connected the textbox's delegate to Files Owner. Verified by looking at the Text Box's Connection Inspector.
    Under Outlets for the textbox "delegate-Files Owner"
    My H file contains  @interface SettingsView : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate, UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource>{
    In my M file I have the following code.
    -(BOOL) textFieldShouldReturn:(UITextField*) textField {
        [textField resignFirstResponder];
        return YES;
    When I press the keyboard hide button(lower right corner), the keyboard buttons will sometimes become unresponsive for about 1 second, but the keyboard will not disappear. I would appreciate any guidance with solving this problem. I find it troubling that this key is not working. My efforts to find a solution have come up nil and there appears to be little to no documentation anywhere regarding this lower right corner button.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately nothing worked. Below is the extra code added in my M file
    - (BOOL)textFieldShouldEndEditing:(UITextField *)textField
        [textField resignFirstResponder];
        return YES;
    I placed a breakpoint in both the textFiledShouldEndEditing and textFieldShouldReturn. In both cases neither function was called when I pressed the hide keyboard button. They were only called when I pressed the Done button. After a little more research I have found people with the exact same problem, yet no solutions available.
    What gets called when the user presses the hide keyboard button? Is this hide keybaord button new?
    My only assumption is that somehow the code behind the keyboard has a bug in it that I'm experiencing. I have a few older iPad projects that I decided to try out and run. Each have a UITextEdit field and every one encounter the same problem with the hide keyboard button.

  • My I-Pad 2 keyboard will not pop up when trying to sign in to web sites. Does anyone know how to get it to come up?

    My i-pad 2 keyboard will not pop up with trying to sign into a web site or Facebook..  Does anyone know how to get it to come up?

    Make sure you click in the text box for username and password to bring up the keyboard.
    Try powering off your iPad by holding the power button and sliding the red slider when it appears, or try resetting your iPad by holding the power and home buttons together until the apple logo appears.
    I would also highly recommend an app for facebook, it's called MyPad.

  • My iPhone keeps freezing when I am texting, the keyboard will not come up.  I have to turn it off or reset it to get keyboard to come up.  How can I fix this?

    In text or email, the keyboard will not come up.  I have to reset phone or turn it off to get started again.  How can i fix this issue?

    Hello Jennings Castle,
    It seems your iPhone is slowing down and not responding frequently. To rectify this issue you may want to consider performing a restore on the device, and then restoring your data from a backup via iCloud or iTunes.
    If the issue persists after restoring your backup, you would then want to consider restoring the device and setting it up as new. Below I have linked to article which offers guidance on both of these restore methods:

  • Macbook Pro 13" will not sleep when I shut the lid

    Hello Community,
    This is my first time using the forum. I have a macbook pro 13" 2009 model. Recently I had my MBP connected to an external monitor. I shut the lid while it was connected to the monitor and forgot to turn off my bluetooth mouse. Later that night the mouse was bumped, waking my macbook and setting it to clamshell mode. I put it to sleep again, opened the lid and woke it, but the LCD on the laptop did not turn on. I reset the PRAM and the NVRAM with no luck. I disconnected the monitor, rested the P/NVRAM and it would boot with the laptop screen and once everything was loaded my screen went black and then went to sleep on its own. I tried powering on and off using the P/NVRAM key commands...and nothing. So I opened the bottom case and physically disconnect the battery, reconnected the battery, put the bottom plate back on and powered it up. The screen began working again, now I have a new problem, the MBP WILL NOT sleep when I shut the lid anymore. I even reinstalled the OS and still no luck? If anyone has anything helpful that I could try to get this feature working again it would be much appreciated. If there is some terminal command I could try or some other troubleshooting method. I even put a magnet by the right side of the keyboard to try to trigger the sleep switch.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    I resolved my issue in a very unlikely way. In my earlier post I mentioned that I wiped my hard drive and was starting from scratch. Well I reinstalled windows 7 through bootcamp and it fixed my sleep issue. That's right folks...Windows fixed my mac. I think that it was an EFI issue. I think this because windows 7 uses EFI and during installation it must have reset the sleep values to normal. I feel when you reinstall Mac OSX the EFI partition on the drive should get wiped and reinstalled as well. I also feel that apple should have an option within System Prefs for the user to select what the way is that the computer responds when the lid is shut instead of the ritual of trickery and problems that the clamshell mode can cause.
    Hope this helps someone.

    My Macbook Pro keyboard and USB keyboard will not work.  However, the trackpad and USB mouse will work.  Any help?
    This is quite frustrating, since it randomly occured as I was browsing the web.  It seemed to happen out of nowhere.  I cannot login to my user account because I cannot type my password.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    If you have another Mac, boot the non-working one into Target Disk Mode (holding down "T" at startup). Hook up the two Macs via a Firewire cable. The non-working one will mount on the other Mac as an external Firewire HD.
    Next, download the 10.5.6 Combo update from here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1056comboupdate .html
    Run it. When it asks you for a destination, choose the other Mac that was mounted via Firewire. When it's done, unmount the computer and restart it. The keyboard and mouse should work now.
