Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

So i updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 8.2 and the screen just went black after that. The phone is on but nothing appears to the screen and booting doesnt help. What should i do?
Try waiting about 30 - 60 minutes to make sure that it isn't just the software being installed. After that, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for 10 - 20 seconds until the apple logo appears.

Screen went black after contact with water
Good evening together, I got my tablet a few days ago and todays it got it's first conact with water. The screen went black instantly and I couldn't turn it on again. I turned it off with the red button at the MicroSD slot. All water caps were closed when it came in contact with water. The strange thing is that I can't register it at Sony Xperia Support because it says the ID 1100-4001-073433-6 is not valid. I already wrote an e-mail at the support but I don't know what will happen now. Did someone else had the same problems? Thank you for your replys and have a nice day together!

Computer screen went black after trying to adjust settings
Hello, I prior to upgrading to win8, I was using two screens with my b320. After upgrading I could only use the main screen. I was trying to adjust the settings to extend the view to the second monitor when...the main monitor b320 went black. I know it is on in the background. When I restart the screen flashed Lenovo...the window 8 emblem appears...then nothing, but the sound at startup. I don't know what to do, since I can't SEE anything..can't adjust anything etc...any advise?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Your display might be switched to the Second Screen (external monitor).
Can you try to:
1. Press the Windows Key+P and press the Up Arrow 3 times then press Enter (check this thread)
2. Unplug the external monitor and change the screen source.to PC Screen

3. If same problem, try to boot into safe mode by prssing Shift+F8 (might require a few attempts as dicussed here)

I went paintballing and i forgot i had my iphone in my pocket. I realized I was getting a call and my phone screen didnt work. It didnt crack it just went black. Everythin else works just not that. What is wrong with it?
try holding and pressing the sleep button and home button together for a few seconds and see if there will be any change in the screen and apple logo should appear after 10 seconds or so if not i guess its a problem with the screen itself maybe darkened pixels or maybe a wire is cut off

Have you tried resetting your iPhone, press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignoring the red slider, then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing this.

Attempting to download IOS6 onto iPad2. Two minutes after download began, the screen went black. Over two Hours since download began and I still cannot get the device to power back on. Battery was 90% when download began. Is there a way to force the power on?
worked for me, then general software update showed "ios 7.0.4" is up to date. awful long and frightening update but all well that ends well. this Sleep/wake AND Home worked to shut off.

The following is how to do a proper reset of an iDevice:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally. -

After latest update my iPad (no camera) screen went dark (dim) & blank. At first I could not power off. At some point voice said setup incomplete. In every language. Took someones advise turned off voice over in itunes.. that stopped the voices. itunes identifies and syncs but ipad screen remains blank (dimly lit). Home screen appeared for moment couple of times as well as wifi setup but disappeared as soon as i started to enter info. Hear swipe see nothing! HELP!

I fix a lot of phones and have only experienced this once with a customer.She told me that the screen went black but the phone still rang.I thought she was just doing something wrong or that maybe she dropped it and the LCD ribbon cable hopped off the board.By the time she got the phone to me the battery had completely died as she could not turn it off.After I received the phone I plugged it in and to my amazement it came alive after the usual 5 or so minutes it takes an iPhone to fire up after being dead.So if possible let it fully drain and then plug it in at the mains charger.Hope this helps.

Screen went black, restarted to 0:01 on 01/01/01 and keychain access lost
I just had my screen go black and the computer shut down completely. Upon restart after pressing the power button, it powered to 0:01 on 01/01/01 and lost keychain access (WiFi). I restarted it a second time about 5 minutes later and these were restored. However, this is the second time this has happened in less than two days. The first time was at 2am and the screen went black and I had to boot it back up with the power button after determining that it wasn't asleep (which it would have no reason to be, I had just gone to brush my teeth).
I've noticed that both times it happened was while it was plugged in and I moved with it. I am extremely careful with my Mac (it cost an arm and leg and I've been very happy with it until now), and I handle it gently so it cannot be due to me setting it down hard. Also, it doesn't recognize the power adapter after the restarts. It's been about 20 minutes now and it still doesn't show that it is being charged nor is the adapter lit.
The first time, the keychain access and date came to within about 15-20 minutes after the initial restart. This second time, I just restarted the computer again and all was well.
I'm really concerned as I've only had it for four months (purchased brand new). While this is a much better crash to length-of-ownership ratio than I had with my PC's, I was thrilled that my MBP had been flawless thus far.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The other forum topics I found with this same issue all reported having to seek warranty work. I have no idea how I could be without it right now and I'm leaving for holiday in a week where I'll need it for studying and writing my dissertation.
Thank you in advance!!Your AppleCare coverage is international, I'm not sure who told you it would't be covered however I'm pretty sure they were flat wrong. Call AppleCare and if you are questioned about where you bought the machine ask to speak to a supervisor, explain your situation, have all your receipts and documentation ready and you should be able to get help. At a minimum if the machine is less than a year old you have a warranty and should take it to your local Apple Store.
As far as update ONLY install updates that specifically designed for your machine. -
4s screen went black with the apple logo when i opened a text?
went to open a text last night and then the screen went black with the Apple logo, but within seconds the main screen came back and the phone worked normally. Do i have a problem? It's only 4 months old so i hope its not on its way out already.
Any help would be appricated.Reset your phone by holding down the home and off button until the apple symbol comes up, you wont lose anything. If it continues to do it after that, then do a restore of your phone in itunes.
