HT1349 On my computer there isn't an app library how do I get one

On my computer on the iTunes library there's music , movies , tv shows , books , radio , but there's no apps. I need to update my iPod touch but I don't want to loose my apps. Because I got a new computer and I transferred the movies, music , tv shows , books , to my library but I can't erase and update if my apps are not synced. So how do I put the apps on my iTunes library?

On your new computer, disable iTunes automatic syncing (iTunes>Preferences>check "Prevent iPods, iPhones...from syncing automatically). Connect your iPhone, right-click on it when it appears on the left sidebar under Devices, select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer your purchases to your iTunes library. Now authorize your computer for the Apple ID(s) you used to purchase these apps (under Store>Authorize this computer).

Hold down the mouse button or trackpad clicker as you start up.
If no joy, restart and hold the Option key. This brings up the Startup Manager, which will draw an Icon for each bootable Volume. When all are drawn, the Eject key is "live".

Look at the USB stick in Disk Utility and check whether it may be partitioned or have other software on it taking up space.

Other people have been having similar problems with incomplete sone over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. The installation CD for your CLIE is no longer available for sale. Sony has stopped all development and manufacturing of new CLIE products back in May 2004.
As the Parts and Accessories sells out of stock on CLIE accessory items, they are not being replaced. At this time there is no plan to re-introduce the CLIE Handheld or accessories for sale.

Picture messages without a texting plan are 25 cents each. Better than the $1.99 or $2.99 from the online store....
Attaching to an email would not work as mobile email does "do" attachments.
Sending to your online album will use text messages, I believe. Better to use a micro SD card, save to the card, and transfer them to your computer that way.

Dear Jean:
It sounds like you are trying to get your external monitor to act as the primary viewing screen. For example it would have your Doc, Icons, Etc. In order to make the external monitor the primary screen you have to:
Open System Preferences.
Choose the Displays Icon
There will be several tabs to choose from pick Arrangement
Drag the toolbar to desired display

Installing iTunes and signing in does not make your media magically appear on the computer.
The media is only where you put it.
To move the media from your old computer to your new computer, you need to copy the iTunes folder form your old computer (or the backup of your old computer) to the new computer.

You're not obligated to insert a gift code. But you can purchase gift codes on the Apple online store (gift cards or certificates) or Apple Retail store
Gift codes are pre paid cards so you can use credit on the iTunes Store to purchase content

You can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
