HT1349 what do you do if your ipod wont turn on and all that shows is the apple logo?

any ideas?

Did you try a reboot/reset?
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. The iPad/iPod should restart

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

  • What do you do if your iphone wont turn on at all?

Does anyone knows how to make it turn on?

Plug iPhone in with Wall Charger for 10 minutes. It may turn on itself. If not, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself. Usually takes less than 20 seconds of holding both buttons.

  • What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.

If no joy... Try a Restore...

  • TS3694 iTunes says my iPod has error 1621 and it continues to flash the apple logo

My 4th generation (I think?) ipod nano blinks the apple logo continually.  I gave it to my 9 yr old and she may have killed it.  I have reset the ipod pressing the Menu and Select buttons which will stop the blinking and give me a solid logo signal momentarily and then it returns to the blinking.  I was able to get it to sychronize and charge, but as soon as it was finished, it began to blink again.  I tunes lists it as Error 1621.  Is the ipod dead?

Try posting in the iPod Nano forum. This is the iPod touch forum..

  • What do you do when your ipod wont cut on?

So I droped my ipod one day on the sidewalk, and now it wont even turn on. it stays frozen at the apple.... anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

Probably suffered internal damage after the drop. Discounted replacement Nanos are $65 for 8GB or $75 for 16GB, assuming you have the latest 6th generation iPod. If you have a different generation, please say so.

  • What can you do if your IPOD wont' shut off...

I have a new ipod purchased in Jan.. everythign is great but I can't shut it off.. And how in the heck do you get cust serv from apple??
    mimi

I got my ipod (30 GB - U2) in July and have the same problem. Every now and then it just won't shut off, can't figure out why. I switch it off by pressing down the play/pause-button until it shuts down and then lock. But once I unlock it, well it's still been on power and the battery capacity has been lowered. Have not tried to reset it, but I'm considering it..
