HT1351 Help! Syncing and managing problem

My Ipod will literally not sync or allow me to play the music off of my playlist on one of my authorized computers; it won't even allow me to manage it, or automatically sync/ update new music on the computer I had originally synced it with. What is going on? I would like to be able to add new songs I have purchased from the itunes library to my Ipod! Help!

It sounds like you are not able to add new music to your iPod nano. If you have synced your iPod nano with another computer, you may need to enable manual mode:
If you want to keep the music library on your device, but copy songs or playlists from the music library on the second computer, click Cancel when the dialog box appears, and then set your device to manual mode.
When in manual mode, to add songs or playlists, drag them from iTunes to the device icon in the sidebar. To remove songs or playlists, select them on the device in iTunes and press the delete key. You can also create playlists directly on the device.

HT1351 help with syncing music?

i bought a 4 disc collection of music at Barnes and Noble for my car and home use. How can i sync this to my iphone and mini ipad? Or do i have to buy it again in itunes to do this?

Turn on computer.
Open itunes.
Insert cd
Import cd.
Connect iphone/ipod/ipad.
Select what you want
Sync

HT1351 Am having problems syncing iPod classic 160gb to iTunes within Windows 8. Can you help?

I bought my iPod Classic 160GB from new in April 2012. For several months, I ran it through an older HP laptop running Windows XP home edition (service pack 3 I think?). I did however, use a Toshiba external hard drive to store all CDs/podcasts/photos etc. All worked very well and I put a fair amount of music (via CDs and podcasts) on the iPod via iTunes. All worked successfully. I changed computer earlier this year - another HP laptop but now running Windows 8. I've downloaded the up to date edition of iTunes AND have also transferred all existing material/files from the same Toshiba external hard drive to the iTunes in my new computer. (think I did this correctly?) So far, so good. I have placed some more music on the external hard drive and into iTunes and wanted to sync with my iPod. I connect iPod to the computer. It's recognised in iTunes as the window comes up showing iPod's serial number and settings etc etc. The iPod screen shows 'sync' and the top of screen in iTunes also shows 'syncing' however, after a few seconds, this stops and the iPod screen shows 'OK to disconnect' without having transferred any of the new music onto the iPod. Although all the existing music remains on the iPod (the stuff that was there before), the copule of new CDs hasn't been transferred over. Can anyone help me solve this problem? I hear that there are some problems at the moment syncing iPods within Windows 8. Anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to select your iPod in iTunes. The command (from the menu bar?) is disabled because you have not selected a device for which the command is applicable.
The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar. To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, find and select the iPod under DEVICES.
Once the iPod is selected, you can select the Sync command under File -> Devices in the menu bar. You can also just click the Sync button at the bottom left corner of the iTunes window (when the iPod is selected).

Try rebooting the computer and restarting the device.
Try a different cable.
In rare cases fluff in the connector port can prevent proper contact with the connectors used to transfer data. An air duster or thin piece of card or plastic can be used to tease out debris if that is the problem.

HT1351 The DEVICES heading is not showing in my library column...help????

I am unable to sync my ipod with new songs that I have just downloaded because the "DEVICES" heading is NOT showing in the left hand column under the Library (where everything is listed while in itunes).
I have tried to call for help, but I was told I needed to pay a 19.99 fee for the tech support- which is rediculous in my opinion since I paid for the ipod, paid for the songs, paid for the laptop, shouldn't the tech support be included in there for free?
Anyway, my question IS....what happened to the DEVICES heading? How do i get it back? How am I to sync my music?

It is for 90 days from the date you purchased your iPod, or for two years if you purchased the AppleCare extended coverage for it.
The "Devices" header will only appear if the iPod you're connecting is recognized, which apparently it is not. This may help:

Did you already consolidate your iTunes library, to make sure all songs are part of the library? iTunes 10 for Windows: Consolidate your iTunes library

HT1351 iPod touch (5th gen) wont sync automatically or at all infact when i plug it in, help?

When I plug it in no iPod sign pops up in the top right corner of the screen neither does the 'summary' on the 'on this iPod'.

So, your iPhone (and new shuffle) still work properly with iTunes, correct?
Your 1st gen shuffle... It's the white one with USB plug, that looks like a USB flash drive...?
Are you able to see it in Windows, and maybe change the drive letter back to E:?

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Go to Settings>General>Date&Time and make sure it is set to Automatic
