HT1351 Is it possible to manage apps on a device from computer since iTunes was changed?

I am so lost since iTunes was redesigned! I like to manage my children's apps from the computer. We have multiple devices and I want different apps on each. I've lost this ability and I am floundering! We have too many apps to manage from individual devices. With my vision deficits, I find it easier to select and delete apps with the device connected and to move the apps to the page I want it on from a larger computer screen.
I used to be able to connect my device, sync it, and then go into a screen where I could manage the apps. No more! Why not? I get that the new design is all about the sale for Apple, but please don't take away functionality! Help!

After an hour of messing with this, I think I found my own answer.
The new iTunes automatically shrinks the left sidebar that has device information. It does not automatically tell us this. Control S returns the view to the familiar one.
For some reason,my device is not always appearing in the sidebar. This might be a problem with my USB port, again no idea why. I did see questions from other users experiencing the same problem. Once I did get the device to appear, I still did not have the ability to view the old screen that had a list of my loaded apps with a page by page view. The device info summary page was there, but the toolbar for the device was not visible.
I had to restore my iPod to its original settings and update before the old app screen and device toolbar returned.
I had been putting off the update because everytime I tried I got a message saying there were apps purchased on my iPod that needed to be uploaded or they would be lost with  the update. I would agree to upload them  but was never taken to a prompt to begin that process. Since I could not find a way to sync and the device specific settings were concealed I finally opted to update and lose the apps in order to solve the bigger problem. Hopefully, they are there somewhere.
Disappointed to see how many consumers are as lost as I am with the new iTunes appearance. Hope Apple is tracking these forum questions and thinking of us as clients and not just as wallets! Way too much emphasis on purchasing and not enough on user friendly accessibility in new iTunes. We're hooked, Apple. Try harder to keep us on the hook.

If you have access to them anywhere, restore them from it. If not, click here and ask, or redownload the applications freely.

  • R12:Is it possible to Manage Tax for Expense purchases from iProcurement ?

    Hi,
Is it possible to Manage Tax for Expense purchases from iProcurement. I don't see Manage Tax option in Iprocurement when I do the Checkout.
Could anyone give some light on this ?

Good news. I've found support note 552107.1 (How To Enable E-Business tax Functionality In Iprocurement Release 12) where support explains how to show tax parameters field in iProc requisition.
But anyway like in PO in R12 You will be able only to select tax codes etc, but not the final Tax values. Because now eTax calculates it.

  • How do you manage photos if you lose the computer your iphone was synced with?

how do you manage photos if you lose the computer your iphone was synced with?

Are you talking about photos that were synced to your phone? If so, the photo sync is one-way: Computer to phone. Apple makes no provision to extract these photos from your phone, you'll have to use third-party software to do so. Note: photos synced to your phone were reduced in resolution for display on your phone, there is no way to recover their full resolution.

and on the right you will see "Purchased"
and it will show you all the app that you have purchase during the years , and on right corner of the page you can choose to download everything again

  • Managing apps on 2 appleID accounts with 1 iTunes.

My gf and I both have an iphone 5.  I have a laptop.  She doesn't.  Can someone explain to me the logic of downloading/syncing apps on our devices?  I've noticed that I can download an app while logged into my account on itunes, and I can sync that app to her phone.  It will sync apps to her phone regardless of which appleID i'm signed into in itunes, but it seems that if I sync it while logged into my account that will cause issues on her phone where she can't download apps thru the iphone app store.  So i'm under the impression that we have to logout/login on itunes according to which phone we are syncing with.  Is that true?  If so, why I am even given the option to sync to her phone with apps that i downloaded under my appleID?
I also realize i could create a whole new user on my laptop, but that creates problems for syncing music and photos that we both want to have on our phones.  So I think one user is necessary.  Just trying to understand the logic of logging in and out in this situation.

My gf and I both have an iphone 5.  I have a laptop.  She doesn't.  Can someone explain to me the logic of downloading/syncing apps on our devices?  I've noticed that I can download an app while logged into my account on itunes, and I can sync that app to her phone.  It will sync apps to her phone regardless of which appleID i'm signed into in itunes,
This is because your siging into your account then your GF phone is then syning to that account. This will happen, yhou have the auto sync turned on. Just turn it off and it will then prevent her phone from syning to your account.
edit preference, click on the phone icon and then check do not allow auto syning of iphone ipad.
On your GF phone go to setting itunes, check the account it's signed into. If need sign out and sign in with the correct account.
So if we both synced all of those apps to all of our phones, are you saying that when it asks for an update, we will both end up having to enter her password and my password according to who was logged in in itunes when it downloaded.
Correct becasue they are in since linked, even thoug you have 2 different apple id's with the down loads. if you want to update the app that was downloaded with the different apple id you will then have to put in that password. For that account.
The best way to fix it, is to delet the app and download it from the itunes store from her phone, again make sure the account is sigined in on the phone under setting itunes.
This makes me think i should go back and delete all apps from her phone that I downloaded when logged in as me.
That is the best thing you can do as I stated.
These apps will always show up, you can try to delet them from the summary page in itunes, click on apps, but the most it will do is allow you to hide  them. Its been awhile since I have messed with that.
One thing to also do is make sure to name your phone, setting general about.
Then when you do have the phone plugged in you will see it over in the left side uder devices. Also make sure who's apple id is signed in on itunes, on the computer.

  • How can I access apps on one device from two iTunes accounts?

I have been told that apps can be loaded on the iPad from multiple iTunes accounts. Is this true?  If so, how does one do it.  My son has a school issued iPad.  The school IT lead informed us that we could use apps that the school provides form the school's account and apps from our personal iTunes account. Please advise. Thank you.

You have to sign in and out of the accounts in the settings.
Settings>iTunes and App Store>Tap on the ID and sign out then sign in with the other ID. If you are running iOS 5 or under, it is Settings>Store>Tap the ID and sign out and sign in with the other ID.

  • How to use the find Iphone app on two devices with the same itunes and apple id number?

I have two Iphones connected to the same apple id . I am unable to use the find my iphone app on both devices. It only works on one!! Please help! It is driving me crazy lol!!

The app should locate both phones if they are using the same iCloud account and the app is signed into the account.  If they are using different account, sign out, then sign back in with the other account to track the other phone.
If one of them isn't showing and you're signed into the correct iCloud account, go to Settings>iCloud on the phone in question and turn Find My iPhone Off, then back On.

  • Apps won't sync from computer to iPhone

    Hi there,
Earlier this week, I followed the instructions in this thread:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
...to change my sync computer from my iMac to my Macbook.  It seemed to work okay.  I can connect my iPhone 6 to iTunes, it syncs photos and contacts and I transferred my iPhone apps to my Macbook via the instructions in the thread above.  Today I downloaded app updates on my Macbook and downloaded a new app.  I then connected my iPhone to it, and it began the sync process (backup, sync contacts etc.) but it didn't go to the next step which is to transfer the latest app updates and the new app to my phone.  It just finishes, nothing else.
Any ideas as to why this may be occurring and how I can resolve this?  My iTunes is authorised to use purchases on the same account that my iPhone is using.
    Thanks.

My wife's iPhone had the same issue, and I found the ultimate solution for it. But first, let me describe the problem in detail.
My wife used to buy apps on her iPhone, but recently she bought a couple of apps on iTunes. So to sync them to iPhone back, she connected the iPhone to her Mac. But "Applications" tab of her iPhone appeared in iTunes didn't show the apps she bought on her iPhone, but showed only the apps she recently bought on iTunes. When she tried to sync anyway by checking "Sync Applications" checkbox in iTunes, she got the following popup message:
"Are you sure you want to sync applications? All existing applications and their data on the iPhone <my wife's iPhone name> will be replaced with applications from this iTunes library."
I am not sure exactly when this happens, because I have never experienced such a problem with my iPhone and Mac. But I can say for sure that it sometimes happens as in my wife's case.
I saw a bunch of postings in this Apple Discussions saying that the only solution is to sync iPhone and iTunes, have the apps on iPhone replaced with apps on iTunes, and then finally re-download apps that were previously bought on iPhone. But there is much easier way.
My solution is this: from iTunes menu, select "File > Transfer Purchases from <your iPhone name>" while iPhone is connected. Then the apps purchased on iPhone are transferred to iTunes, and now you have all apps (bought on either iPhone or iTunes) listed in iTunes!

  • Is it possible for me to transfer the purchases from my old itunes account to my new one? I would like to keep all of my music, movies, tv shows etc.

I just created a new Apple ID that is different from my old one. Is it possible for me to transfer the purchases from my old account to my new one? I would like to keep all of my music, movies, tv shows etc.

It doesn't matter what your AppleID is - you can just change the email address associated with it at http://appleid.apple.com/ as mentioned numerous times above.
Okay, my former Apple ID = my former email address and the latter is dead because I moved out of the geographic area.
If you just updated the email address associated with your AppleID you wouldn't have to sign in twice.
I guess Apple Inc is wrong because that is EXACTLY what they stated when I called yesterday afternoon.  SIGN IN TWICE when I activate Apple TV and want to watch/listen to my legitimate purchases when my iMac is OFF.
Your only problem is the fact you didn't safely store the password to your account and subsequently forgot it.
Wrong ... my only PROBLEM, SIR, is that my bride, my wife of over 51 years died in my arms at 4:16 AM on December 27, 2012.  As a direct result, I decided to get the **** out of the city where my Nancy and I lived for **** near 20 years.
On the outside chance it is of interest to you, she is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Section 66, based on my faithful military service during 1961 -> 1981 ... including Vietnam during 1967.

Part of this PROBLEM, SIR, is that Apple Inc refuses to merge my old purchases with my new one.

  • Problems instelling an app on my bb from computer.

Hii! I'm trying to instal opera mini from computer to my blackberry 9700. Everything's fine till the desktop manager sends me an error:
Blackberry Desktop software failed to validate your device update. Aborting install due to validation failure. Some packages contained unsatisfied dependencies.
I'm in US and I need to install it from computer to phone to have data. How can I do it? Is there a way to do it manually (without using blackberry desktop manager) ? NEED HELP!

Delete that account, or change passwords on it. Im assumung find my iphone is not installed on it, bbut if it is, you canset up a password on it like that. One other waaay I havnt tred is, Download find my iphone onto computer, turn on automatic downloads to all devices, so next time it should download onto ipod touch, then set up a password. Not sure if it would work though

  • HT201441 Is it possible for APPLE to remove a device from an Account as an administrator?

Considering that apple knows exactly what device is linked to what AppleID, is it not possible that if you bought a phone from ebay for example, and are unable to get hold of the original owner that Apple can get in touch with them and request they remove it from their account?
Or perhaps if no response is given, remove it from the individuals account so that atleast it can be used?

Ask for a refund from the eBay seller. If they refuse file a complaint with eBay.

  • Is it possible to manage multiple apple ID's from 1 e-mail account? I don't want users of an ihone to mess about with the apple store

I am the telecom manager of a  small company and I want to manage the iPhones in the company myself ( 7 pieces ) so that a user can not mess about with the phohe and the app store. I already found out how to block some of the functionality of the phone. I don't want to setup appleID's per users e-mail address because the confirmation of the apple ID will always be sent to the users of the phone.
    Is this possible?
    Johan

Nope. You can only have one credit card attached to an account at a time. Its not that big of a deal to use two accounts, users do this all the time. Create the second account(UK Account) in iTunes on your computer...sign out of your Italian account first. Then authorize your computer for this new account: Store>Authorize this computer. Then sync your phone. Now, to switch accounts on your phone: Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...then sign back in with the ID you want to use.

  • Possible to assign apps to one device?

I have an Iphone 4S and a Ipad 2 on the same account.
Is it possible in iTunes to assign each app I have to either only my iPhone, or my iPad or both.
I am tired of seeing apps I got for my Ipad end up also on my Iphone, and vice versa.
btw, just noticed that my Ipad2 don't show on my registered list down below. It should be as I have been using it with the same account since I got it new last fall. Did I miss to do something?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Turn off automatic downloads for apps (settings > store) and sync the apps you want on each device via iTunes.
