HT1351 Macbook pro ical does not sync with iPhone

I enter calendar events in iPhone but they don't apperar in MacBook Pro calendar.
The reverse (enter in Macbook and they appear in iphone) works..
Whazzup?

You may have the wrong default calendar set in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  Be sure you have selected your MacBook calendar as your default.

  • ICal does not sync with iPhone via iTunes

I have installed Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air couple of days ago and the calendar stopped syncing with my iphone. I sync through iTunes as I do not wish to use iCloud. Sync is set to all calendars and all events (no restriction), but nothing goes through. Tried adding events through my iPhone or through the Macbook, no difference, they do not get across to the other device. I have checked all settings, they seem to be carried forward from Lion unchanged. Any ideas or is it a Mountain Lion fault. Please do not tell me that the only way to sync will be through iCloud!

Thank you for the well-meant advice
Sorry - none of it works
To say I am frustrated is a joke!!!!
For starters my system does not follow the logic of Z001 - the file sequence is fifferent on my PB. The only cache file I could locate was 'Calendar Cache' and deleting it made no difference
IAs a precaution I did first export my Calendar to the desktop; then I exited the Cloud; tried to do a manual sync between iPhone and PB. But watching the iTunes indicator bar reveals that the cal syn is simply not happening
    So there is a bug.
Heck, my rave has always been how flawlessly the iPhone and MB speak to each other, Mountain Lion has wrecked that.
At present the only workable solution is to dump Mountain Lion and go back to Lion.

  • New contact on mac does not sync with iphone via iCloud

I created a contact on my mac and it does not sync with iphone via icloud

Contacts added to On My Mac don't sync, add it to the iCloud account, on your Mac.

  • My ical does not sync with my ipad and iphone

My Ical will not sync with my phone or ipad. My address book does sync. The settings appear to be the same for both. I am running Lion on an imac and have ios5 on both the phone and the ipad.

On both the iPhone and the iPad, make sure Calendars is selected in Settings > iCloud
And check System Preferences > iCloud. Make sure Calendars is switched on there.
If everything was already setup correctly, try resetting the iOS devices.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    And restart your iMac.

  • My iCal does not sync with my iphone . help.  it worked fine in mobleme

My iCal does not sync between my iMac and iPhone consistantly.  It worked fine with mobleme.   Any solutions?

Make sure that your Mac is subscribed to iCloud and is logged on to the calendar, there is no 'sync' in iCloud, whatever MM did is irrelevant.

  • Desktop ical does not sync with mobile me or iphone

entries in mobile me calendar sync with desktop and iphone wirelessly
entries in iphone calendar sync with desktop and mobile me as long as I select entourage in the iphone
but ical entries on desktop do not sync with iphone or mobile me

Finally figured it out. Assuming you have the latest software and trouble syncing iphone ical, desktop ical and mobile me ical:
1.Inputing an entry in either one of the tree does not automatically insure syncing across. You have to remember to tell the device how to share the info:
-Mobile me entry (you are inputing data in your mobile me account when you are away from your desktop and phone, like using someone else's computer). After you make an ical entry make sure you check "entourage" and the entry will be synced across devices.
Desktop computer entry. After you enter the data make sure you check the entourage option on the me.com
-iphone: after you input the data check the entourage on the mobile me. Also uncheck all the .cal.com
    2. This takes care of all the sync problems for ical and I suspect contacts. Don't go to draconian measures like re-installs and all the stuff I read here without first trying this.
    3. Finally, familiarize yourself with the dashboard of iTune when you plug in your phone. There are a few tabs in there like "summary" and "info" that allow you to control data.
In conclusion, I really wish Apple would have covered this on this site or on various manuals. I feel mobile me is not held to the same high standards that Apple requires and I've been an Apple fanatic and advocate since 1983.

Just converted from MobileMe to iCloud.  But now my iCal does not sync to my iPhone or iCloud.  What did I do wrong?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Is calendar syncing enabled on both the computer and the phone.
Are your calendars in your iCloud group and not in a on my mac group.
only calendars in the iCloud group will sync.

  • Address Book Associates Field does not sync with iPhone

Apple went to the trouble of getting custom field names in the Mac OS Address Book to synchronize with the iPhone (which is wonderful), but they left one field 'unsyncable'; the associates field. If you list a contact's manager name, spouse name, child name, etc. in Address Book, it does not sync with the iPhone (OS 3.0.1) 'Phone' application. This is very useful (and embarrasment-preventing) when needing to remember the name of a contact's manager, wife, child, etc. Does anyone have any idea why Apple left this out of the sync? Certainly it couldn't have to do with saving memory...

Oh yes! i have this same problem - i have tried emailing Apple Customer Support but they were unable to help me. They advised me to speak to technical or raise the issue on the Apple Support board (but someone already has!)
so if someone can help us both out here with how to sync additional field information added on Address Book on Mac to then sync all this additional information to iPhone, we would be greatly appreciative!!Thanks,
    Mark

  • Calendar on MacBook Pro does not sync with iPhone 4s

I used Entourage to sync my calendar entries via iTunes for many years and it worked fine. Recently, however, it stopped syncing my information.  I switched over to Mail and Calendar, hoping that staying within the Apple family it would resolve the issue. Still, my calendar information is not syncing with my iPhone. I use IOS 10.9 Maverick on my MacBook Pro.  My iPhone 4S version is 7.0.4. Any idea why this syncing calendar information is not happening?

I have my iPhone attached via USB cable to my MacBook Pro.
I have been able to successfully sync my calendar now by activating iCloud on my iPhone and via System Preferences on my MacBook Pro after I learned that Maverick does not provide iSync.
However, I have a new problem: The calendar does not "upgrade" (it gets stuck) and I receive a "403" error and it gets stuck in a loop that I have to force quit. I have looked that up in the forum, but wasn't able to solve this issue because the solutions are way to technical and out of my league.
Very disappointed development as removing calendar from iCloud now also deletes all my entries on the Mac.

  • ICal will not sync with iPhone

When I tried to sync an appointment created on the iPhone with iCal it will not show up in iCal.

I just posted this to an earlier question on an issue very similar. Might help some of you watching this topic.
This process, which AppleCare gave me last night worked to solve my problem. However, I have one nugget to add to the fix, a faster process to try first.
    EDITED FROM PREVIOUS POST:
Try these steps to narrow down the offending calendar and/or event.
    1. create a new calendar in ical. Name it test, iphone or something.
    2. uncheck all your calendars in ical, so you can only view the events in the new calendar
    3. put a test event in the new calendar ( in the future). Call it Test 1.
    4. connect up your iphone and set the iphone to sync only to that new calendar.
    5. In the info tab that shows up when the iphone is connected, make sure to sync ical calendars is checked
    6. Set it to sync only selected calendars.
    7. in the window that shows all the calendars, only have the new calendar checked.
    8. put a check mark in the box not to sync items older than... Set it to 1 day.
    9. Now click apply in the bottom right side of itunes. (this will see if the iphone can sync to ical)
    10. Once you have established that the iphone can sync, go back into the info tab and uncheck the new calendar created and check only one of your old calendars.
    11. Click apply and try to sync the iphone to that particular calendar.
    12. Keep un-checking a calendar that syncs and check a different calendar until you run across a calendar that does not sync. The one that gives you a disconnect error.
    13. Now that you've narrowed it down to the offending calendar, you know that it has to do with an event from yesterday and forward. (ED.- in my experience, this DID NOT prove that the event was limited to the time you specify for the sync. But it does no harm to narrow the scope for iPhone.)
    14. Go back to ical and put a check mark in the calendar that is giving the issue. So now you see the new calendar created and the offending calendar.
    15. Now you need to figure out which event/events that are causing the problem.
NEW STEP 16. Fast fix (try this first, and if it doesn't work, you'll try the longer piecemeal process.)
Cut and paste All events to your new test calendar. The fastest way do this is to open the list of events by clicking on the list icon (3 lines) on the bottom left of ical.
    17. Sort by title and if any events show up with a blank title, fix these or delete them.
    18. Sort by type of item so you only select the events, and not any ToDo items.
    19. Shift click at the top of the list, shift-click at the bottom of the list and everything should be highlighted. Then, with the cursor on one of the items highlighted, Control-click and a menu will open. Select Calendar, and then your test calendar. This moves everything into your new calendar.
    17. Try to sync.
In my experience, ical fixed some items that were queer by moving them to a new calendar. My original calendar was imported from Outlook.
If this doesn't work, you'll need to try again by creating another test calendar and then moving over a few items at at time, syncing after each import, wading through your events until you find the culprit.
We return to our regular programming here:
    16. Start moving events over a few at a time to the newly created calendar and sync the iphone only to the new calendar. You can move events 2 ways.
16A. if you have the tray to the side expanded so you can view the details of the event, you can change what calendar it is in.
16B. At the bottom of ical there is a button to the right that allows you to view all evens in a list view. You can right-click or control-click on the event and move to a different calendar.
16c. CORRECTION TO ORIGINAL POST Sync iPhone.
    17. Keep following step 16 until you receive the the disconnect error.
    18. When you get the disconnect error again, you know that the last batch of events has the offending, or one of the offending, event/events.
If you run through all of your calendars and do not receive the disconnected error, then the data that was disconnecting the iphone was older data. (ed. -In my experience, this proved false. the error was buried in old data, even though I had the setting at "1" day.)

  • ICal does not sync with iCloud

Is there some sort preference .plist or something like that that can be used to reset the iCal sync process?
For the last month or two I`ve had major problems getting my iCal on iMac to sync properly to iCloud. A couple of weeks ago I suddenly had a couple of days where everything was working like it was supposed to without me having changed anything, but the joy only lasted for a couple of days.
Right now iCal just reads "updating" (well, in Norwegian) in the header, and iCal events does not update to iCloud. And it´s been frozen like that for more than a week.
Neither does it recieve update from iCloud. That is, events that I change on my iPhone.
I have nothing but calendars that are on iCloud (none which are only on my iMac). Some of the calendars are also exported to other users.
    - I´ve checked that I´m logged in in the iCloud system pref´s.
    - I´ve gone thorugh every calendar and clicked on "update" to try to force a change. Without improvement.
    - Strange thing is that also my MacBook Pro gives me the exact same behaviour.
Both my iMac and MBP is OSX 10.7.5.
    Is this an iCloud bug?
    Anybody else seeing this?
    Any suggestions?

Check Settings>iCloud, be sure Calendars is set to On.  Also check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar, be sure you choose the calendar under your me.com address (not On My iPhone).

  • Macbook pro/iPad3 does not sync app updates

Have the iPad (1) and the iPad3 and have updated many an app on a Dell latop that always sync'd the new purchased and updated apps with both the iPads and even my iPhone 4 without any issues (ever). I recently got a macbook pro and since then app udates and/or new purchases downlowds and updates on the macbook and on the dell laptop, but none of the apps/updates or new apps sync with any of the other devices.
Messages I get is that the computer in not authorised anymore, I then reauthorise the macbook/dell laptop and get the message that it is already authorised. then I deauthorise it and then reauthorise it, same outcome.
All the sync does is the contacts, calenders, safari browse etc etc, but when the apps ar to be sync'd updated on the pads and phone, the process status indicates that it is busy "Determining apps to sync" and without any other action and very quickly after this, the entire sync process is finished without updating the apps. The next step is the messages i get indicating that the iPad/s and/or iPhone is not authorised.
is there a setting that I need to change on the macbook that will resolve this issue or is the probelm on the tow iPads and the iPhone?
Tech's at the iStore said my iPad needed to be restored to factory default, which was done, but even that did not resolve the issue. Please help?

Go to iCloud.com and see if your Calendar is syncing there. If not, go to System Preferences/iCloud and make sure Calendar syncing is checked. If it is syncing, go to iPhone Settings and make sure it is set up to sync Calendar. If it is set up on the iPhone, try deselecting iCloud syncing, put the iPhone in the airplane mode for a couple of minutes, and then set syncing up again.

  • My iCal does not sync with my iPhone

I use to be able to get up to date info on both my iPhone and iCal at simultaneously, but now for some reason my iPhone does not get any changes I make in iCal. Help!

I had been reading this thread and many other iPhone and iCal sync problem threads to try to solve my issue. My issue was similar to the OP in that my calendar events on my iPhone were not being sync'd to iCal and also that events created in iCal were not being sync'd to the iPhone. Here's what I tried that didn't work
Backed up iCal, deleted all my calendars, created a fake placeholder calendar and then re-imported/restored my iCal data
    Reset "Sync History" using iSync
Some forum poster had said something about how their problem had resolved after they had deleted all (some?) of their subscribed calendars in the iCal sidebar. Well, I had only one subscription calendar and that was a "US Holiday" calendar that I subscribed to almost 2 years ago. Was it through iCalx? I don't recall where I got the URL, but it was something from the Web. In any event, I deleted the susbscribed calendar and tried re-syncing and everything was transferred (phone to calendar and calendar to phone). Also this is only my theory since I also changed one other setting in iTunes. It was the "Don't Sync Events That Are Older Than" setting in iTunes. I changed this setting from "120 days" (an arbitrary number I had created) to another poster's suggestion about making it "10 days." Anyway, I hope this helps someone! I'm so thankful everything's working again.

  • ICal calendars not syncing with iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2
I'm using iCal on my MBP running Mac OS 10.6.4
    I have a MobileMe account.
Never had an issue with calendars syncing with the iPhone previously.
I am using MobileMe Calendar Beta. This now displays my calendars in iCal under my MobileMe account name (eg. [email protected]) rather than the 'On My Mac' section that it use to.
I have five separate calendars in iCal on the Mac all named appropriately (eg. Work, Personal etc.) and all that appears on the iPhone is one calendar named 'Calendar' with no events in it??
I've used MobileMe (.Mac) and iPhone syncing for years and have them set up as I always have.
Does anyone have the same issues? Does anyone have any constructive advise?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Devendra : yes I have 4.0.2
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
    Devendra : pl wait...its syncing
Wendy G. : OK, no problem
Devendra : While its syncing..what's the next step?
Wendy G. : Once the syncing has completed, we will take the iPhone and go to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars.
Wendy G. : We will first switch the Contacts only to "off" and select "Delete" data.
Wendy G. : Then we will go back to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars and switch only the contacts to "On" and "Do not Merge" data, but we will need to wait until the syncing is complete OK?
Devendra : ok..its done on the Mac. i am on the Mail, Contacts and Calendar page of the phone. from where do I switch the contacts off?
Wendy G. : Please tap your MobileMe account name and the sliders will appear.
Devendra : After selecting "Do Not Merge", should I select "Keep on My iPhone"?

    Devendra : done
Wendy G. : OK, very good!
Wendy G. : Please go to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars, tap your MobileMe account and then select "Calendars" only.
Wendy G. : Please switch them to off, "Do not Merge" and "Delete"
Wendy G. : Once that is complete, then you will switch them to "On" using the same process, by selecting "Do not Merge" once again and "Delete" from the phone.
Devendra : Switched it off but after turning On again, it didnt ask me for anything, simply the switch turned to On
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Wendy G. : Please place a test contact and a test event on the iPhone, and also place on your Mac, to verify if the syncing has resolved OK.
Devendra : ok, pl hold on
Wendy G. : OK, take your time.
Devendra : my contacts list on the phone is empty
Wendy G. : Yes, that is expected.
Wendy G. : Please put a test contact there and the information will refresh from www.me.com
Wendy G. : Also please verify your iPhone is set this way:
Wendy G. : Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>MobileMe account, tap it>Fetch new data>Set your Push to "on" and select "every 15 minutes please.
Devendra : yes, its that way only
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Devendra : Just as I was creating a new contact, all the contacts came back.
Wendy G. : Once you have the test event and contact on the iPhone and the Mac, please open www.me.com and verify when they arrive there!
Wendy G. : OK, very good, thanks Devendra!
Devendra : Bingo! Its syncing fine now.
