HT1366 Macbook does not boot green light flashes for few secends

My MacBook do not boot when I press power button. The green light on the side flashes for few secends.

Dear Apple-Friends! Dear Imola!
Thank you so much for your Memorial Day Super Fast Answer. Nothing has helped though and right now the support line is closed as it is 11:10 p.m. local time. will call them tomorrow morning and see what we can do. But this ***** so much, I waited 2 weeks for the machine to arrive, almost two weeks 'cause I bought it the moment it arrived in the online store.
I called Apple USA but they are closed because of Memorial Day. ;-(
Tough luck, I guess!
Cheers,
Constantin

  • I have the ishuffle 2nd generation. When I plug in, itunes recognizes it but it will not charge. The green light flashes a few times but then goes out. I'm not sure if the battery is dead or if something else can be done. Any advice?

I have the ishuffle 2nd generation. When I plug it it, itunes recognizes it but the light flashes green a few times and then stops. It is not charging. Is the battery dead or can something else be wrong? Any advice??

To rule out a problem with the shuffle's onboard software, I would try a Restore on the shuffle using iTunes.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Settings screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.
If that does not help, you should do a test to confirm there is not a problem on the USB port, such as lack of power to operate the iPod and charge it battery.  Shut down (power off) the computer and disconnect all USB devices including hub, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if normally used).  If the computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter (so that it's not running on battery power).  Do this to reset the shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer.
If that does not help, it is more likely that the problem is a hardware problem on the shuffle, such as the battery.

  • Mac Pro will not boot, power light flashes once and then Mac switches off

One of our Mac Pro's will not boot. When pressing the power button the light will come on briefly and the Mac will just turn off again.
I have unplugged the power cable and held down the power button for 10 seconds but this did not help.
Any suggestions for me before I call up Apple?

Most indications from flashing power lights are telling you that there is not enough working memory to start up.

  • Macbook does not boot to anything

Previously my Macbook Pro 8,2 (15" Early 2011) was fine, but then it was not booting to Mac OS X, thus I removed the hard disk and test it, I found out that the hard disk was dead.
I didn't had enough money to buy a new hard drive, so I put inside my external hard disk Toshiba 160GB inside, and thought about re-installing the latest Mac OS X.
But when I tried booting to the Original DVD OS which I got when I bought the Macbook, when it showed the Apple logo, then a grey screen appeared, and then a bluescreen and it stucked there.
I tried booting from another copy of OS X, stuck at grey screen. Tried reset PRAM and NVRAM, non worked out.
Note: When I hold "option" key, the hard disk does not appear.
I even tried to install Mac OSX from My PC via a VM (Virtual-Machine) on the external hard drive, it does boot in the VM, but not on the Macbook.
I also tried creating a bootable USB Mac OSX Installation, still it get stuck on grey screen. I don't know much about apple product.
P.S: I wrote this question long, in order for you guys to know what I've tried.
    Thanks in Advance.

Did your early 2011 MacBook Pro ship with Snow Leopard discs and which version of OS X were you running? Did you use the gray discs that shipped with your machine to try to initialize the internal drive and install the OS that shipped with your machine?
Oh, and you could always to to boot to Internet Recovery (holding down the command, option and R keys whilst booting). You must have a good Internet connection (Ethernet is best) and, as you'll be booting from Apple's servers, it will take a while for the Recovery screen, after to globe appears, to come up.

    Greetings,
After installation of Solaris on a system with a flask disk as system disk, the disk is not bootable.
    Configuration:
    System: Fore CPU-50 VME cpu-card (sparc50)
OS: Solaris 10 (Sparc version, CD-media)
System-disk: ADTRON S35FA-8GC20N Smart Storage 3.5” SCSI Flash pack.
              (configured as c0t1d0)
    Error message at boot:
    Can’t read disk label
    Can’t open disk label package
When I mount the installed disk on another system I can read and inspect the flash disk.
The logging files begin.log, finish.log and install_log in the /var/sadm/system/logs/ directory don’t mention any errors during installation phase.
The logging file /var/sadm/system/logs/install_log begins with:
    Configuring disk
    -     Creating Solaris disk label (VTOC)
    Creating and checking UFS filesystems
    -     Creating / (c0t1d0s0)
    -     etc.
    This install_log file ends with:
    Installing boot information
    -     Installing boot blocks (c0t1d0s0)
    -     Updating system firmware for automatic rebooting
How can I make this flash disk bootable?
    Thanks,

  • MacBook does not boot! Grey Screen No Apple Logo or Gear!

Hey guys, I am having this same problem! I have a late 2006 Macbook and I went to my computer this morning, turned it on and noticed that airport was taking awhile to find my internet connection. Everything started to freeze up so I decided to turn off the computer, turn it back on and there was the gray screen with no apple logo or anything. I heard something funny going on in my computer but didn't think of it. I took out my hard drive and put it in a friends MacBook and it still does the samething. I put his hard drive into my Macbook and everything works.
Now I have the external adapter hard drive dealio but for some reason when I connect it up to the working computer, I don't see it showing up on my desktop or anywhere. I have some real important files on there that I need to get off...any other way I can get them off? I think I will eventually need to get a new hard drive...

Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

  • Macbook pro does not boot after upgrading ram

I have a macbook pro late 2011 which runs with mavericks operating system . I have tried to upgrade my macbook to 8Gb. Macbook does not boot when the two ram slots are filled with 4GB ram but runs well when the slots are filled with 2GB ram. When i try them individually with one slot of 2GB ram and another slot with 4GB they run perfectly which shows status ok in the RAM info. What could be the problem .

Around here, most of us recommend only Crucial and OWC for RAM because it's guaranteed to work with Macs and it's what most of us have. If I were you, I would return the RAM and look at purchasing RAM from either Crucial or OWC. If you can't get their RAM to work then you'll know that there's some trouble with your actual slots.
    Good luck,

  • Macbook does not start

    Greetings. This is my issue:
I don't know why the macbook does not restart, if you try to restart it, it comes to black screen and i had to press the power button twice (Turn it absolutely off and turn it up), i took it to an apple authorized service center and he put an external HDD and restart it from this HDD then restart my macbook and it restarted normally, a few days later the problem persist.
Now the big deal: I turned it on, open safari and immediately it comes black screen and the status white led start blinking, i press the power button and stop blinking and press it again but it does not start, the blinking comes again... I left it off for an hour or so.
One hour later it boots normally but in few seconds it freezes and becomes a message in the screen that reads: " You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button". Then i press the power button, when i tried to restart it again there came a lot of strange stripes in the screen, gray and black with some color dots, a very weird thing, the "Start up chime" sounds about tree times and the stripes keep changing, always stripes. I restart it again, and the same thing happens one more time, and the third time i restart it it does not show anything on screen, all black and no sound, i tried putting out battery and everything Apple says to do when macbook does not boot, but nothing happens... i press the power button the sound of the HDD (I guess) that always sound, i can hear it, and the status white led is on, but not blinking, but nothing else....
    what should it be?
it is a late 2007 macbook and out of warranty, does not have apple care.

  • Macbook will not boot, makes clicking sound

When I power up I get a blank screen and I hit clicking but the macbook does not boot up. I think it is not finding the HDD; happened before and there was a combo of keys I hit when I hit the Power button that found the HDD.
    Any ideas?
    Appreciate any help
    Thanks, Ralph

    Hi,
To get your mac to boot from the install disc simply insert it then turn on your mac holding the option key(the alt key), then select the disc in the menu.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Does not boot When Back up drive removed

I have a windows Server 2008 R2 Standard server RAID 10 installed.  I  have a non raid drive installed as the backup HD.  The Backup drive is now failing. When I went to switch it with a new one the system does not boot and is asking for
a boot drive.  I have been searching for solutions and cannot find any.  Any ideas?

    Hi,
Could you confirm if your boot volume is on that non-RAID disk (maybe 2 volumes on that disk and one of them is the boot volume)?
At current situation, first please test to connect the failed disk back to the device and see if it will help.
Or you may need to run a boot-up repair with an installation disk.

  • MacBook Pro with Mavericks OS does not boot

I have old macbook pro 2009. I upgraded the OS to Mavericks some months ago. It was running nicely till yesterday when electricity cut & there is no battery. I tried to restart it again but it does not boot. When I press the power button. It lights up & gives the starting tone, then a progress bar appears it takes about 20 minutes for the progress bar to complete. After the progress bar is completed, the computer shuts down.
I tried to press the option key during boot. I got some options: time machine ... Disk utility. I pressed on Disk utility. Disk was verified, it was ok. I tried to boot from external disc I previously prepared by ccc (carbon copy cloner) but ccc does not appear in the items of Disk utilities. Restore also failed. Now, I am downloading a OS X Mavericks which will take some hours. Would it be helpful or I need to do something else?

  • Macbook pro  snow leopard 10.6.3 does not boot up. I get a grey screen and a pop up to restart computer

Snow leopard 10.6.3 does not boot up. Macbook pro. When I push the start button I hear a chime and then the apple logo shows up and the spinnings circle. In a little while a grey screen comes on and  after that a pop up telling me to shut down and restart my computer.I have done that andit still does not work. How do I fix it.?
    richardfromfort pierce

    richardfromfortpierce,
do you or don’t you have your MacBook Pro’s original grey installation DVDs?
If your MacBook Pro is a 2007 model, then Mac OS X 10.6.3 was not installed onto your MacBook Pro from its grey installation DVDs, but rather from a white Snow Leopard DVD. The white Snow Leopard DVD does not have any Apple Hardware Test; to run your Apple Hardware Test, you will need the grey installation DVDs which originally came with your MacBook Pro when it was new. If you no longer have those grey discs, you can contact Apple directly and purchase a replacement pair. (They’re not available in the Apple stores.)
