Directly after updating iTunes to 11.1.4.64, itunes wont recognize my iPad 3. I'm running the latest version of Windows 8. I have never had problems with this before and I am trying to avoid unistalling iTunes so that all of my book and music don't have to be reinstalled. Any suggestions?

If you give an advise where to find these registry entries it would be much apriecieted

The profile on the MAC server has been deleted and the iPad has been erased and reset to default. Run the application 'Terminal.app' which you will find in '/Applications/Utilities' on your Macintosh.
Type this into it: defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey
Hit the return key.
If you get no error message, it worked, and you can quit the app.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

i have tried everything to get my ipad to be recognized in my itunes. i did all the steps on uninstalling & reinstalling itunes & the files for the mobile devices per apples support suggestions and still nothing.

It is possible you have a bad cable. If it is convenient to stop by an Apple Store, their Genius can run diagnostics on your iPad.

I tried to update the other day to OS 6.01, but it said I couldn't. I was away from my computer, so didn't worry about it. I thought I'd do it later. When I boarded the airplane, I shut down my ipad and then when I tried to turn it back on, I get the apple logo, then a flash and then the apple logo again. I have tried putting it into recovery mode, but it won't go. I push the home and power key to get it off, then press the home key while plugging it in via USB. I keep the home key pressed, but the Connect to Itunes never comes up. What do I do?
While connected, it goes from white apple to grey apple to black out flash and back to white apple about every minute or two.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. You cannot sync the two devices together. You can keep the two devices in sync by using iCloud and some of the available settings on both devices. Go to Settings>iCloud and you can turn on Reminders , Calendars, Notes, Safari Bookmarks, Contacts, Photo Stream, Mail, Keychain, etc.
You can go to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Automatic Downloads and turn on apps, songs, books and updates to keep all of those items in sync as well.
But why don't you explain exactly what you mean by syncing the two devices? What do you hope to accomplish?

Clean install Lion wont recognize iPad

Hi, I just completed a clean install of Lion. Everything went okay, but it turns out iTunes no longer recognizes my iPad as its device. It says that the iPad is synched to another computer, and it needs to erase the contents before allowing me to sync. Does anyone know how I may be able to get the iPad to sync with my iTunes without going the restore route?

I did a clean install for troubleshooting and I wanted it to keep it clean, so Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant were out of the question. I wanted to transfer my iTunes library and purchases and to be able to sync my iPhone as before. Called Apple and the rep said the only paths were the Assistants or wipe the phone and resync with the new library losing all app data in the process. Sensing the rep may have been a bit obtuse, I emailed Apple and got a call back from another friendly rep who promptly emailed this to me:

While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

ITunes 11.1.3 wont sync with iPad mini 7.0.4

Okay so I just recently tried to sync my iPad mini with my windows 7 laptop and it simply wont work. I have tried to uninstall the apple driver and reinstall it (didn't work). I reset all the settings on my iPad (didn't work). I tried to unselect "entire library" and then select specific playlists to sync (didn't work). My iTunes recognizes the iPad mini perfectly fine, even when I click on "on this ipad" the newer songs are displayed but when i check the actual iPad the new music is not on it. I would really prefer to avoid resetting the entire ipad because i do use it mainly for gaming and would hate to lose my save data. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks :-D
