HT1369 I erased my music from my ipod while in itunes. Is it somewhere on itunes

I erased my music from my ipod while in itunes. Is it somewhere that I can get it back?

All of your content should be in iTunes on your computer, simply sync the content back to the device.

  • I am trying to put the music from my ipod onto my new computer. After installing itunes and connecting my ipod touch a message comes up saying that my ipod is already synced with another library. What can I do to sync it with a new library?

I recently got a new computer and got rid of my old one. I am trying to put the music from my ipod touch onto my new computer but keep getting a message saying that my ipod is already synced with a library and cannot be synced with more than one. How do I access that library on my new computer and if I can't are their other ways for me to put the music on my ipod into my new computer?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • How do I transfer music from an iPod to a new computer, with an existing iTunes account that is not mine, or to an iPad??

My computer crashed and I lost my iTunes library and music. The music is however on my iPod 5th Generation. How do I move my music to my husbands computer, where he has his own music....or how do I transfer or add my music from my iPod to my iPad?
I also lost all my gift card money on my iTunes account. Can I add my iTunes account to a computer that already has an iTunes account?

I have read this, but it does not help. My crashed computer had my iTunes library with MY iTunes ID. The new computer and iPad that i want to transfer my music to, that is on my iPod, is under a different iTunes account. Can I still transfer my music from my iPod to a new computer that has a different ID?

  • HT2329 How do I transfer the music from my iPod touch to a new computer and new iTunes account on a PC?

I recently got a new computer and a new iTunes account. How do I transfer all of the content from my iPod Touch to my new library without it syncing and deleting everything? Thanks!

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Transfer Purchases
You need to copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The ipod is ot a backup device.  It simply irrors the selected content of your computer.

  • HT1386 I have a 30Gb Classic.  I have loaded many of my CD's onto ITunes in the past and due to a change of computer have lost the files.  When I now sync Ipod to ITunes will I lose the CD loaded music from my Ipod as it no longer appears in my ITun libra

I have lost the computer library of tunes downloaded from CDs onto ITunes .  So when I sync my Ipod ( with all CD and Itune downloads) with ITunes library (only ITune downloads) will I lose the CDs held on my Classic IPod.  Thanks for your consideration.

Likely. Copy them from the iPod to your computer by:

  • I have an Ipod Touch (4th Gen) and I am having troubles with my downloads from purchasing music from the Ipod. On my downloads icon in the Itunes Store (on Ipod) there is a symbol of how many songs I still have waiting to download, but they wont download.

I have been having troubles with this for months and am extremly tired of not being able to download my songs. I bought these songs off of Itunes as well, so I really hope i can retrieve them. I do not know where to find a personal apple support person yet, does anyone know where to find one on the website?

  • Can't Sync Music From Old iPod Nano to New iPod Nano

Ref: Windows 7 PC, iTunes 11.3, Nano Gen 7 1.0.3
I had an iPod Nano Gen 5 with my music loaded. When I switched to the iPod Nano Gen 7, the music in my library will not download from iTunes. Some music is from CD, some from iTunes Store.  On the Gen 5 I had unchecked Sync Music and checked Manual manage music which essentially erased all music from the iPod. Seems to me this would permit the music to be available  for the Gen 7. No luck so far getting any of my music to load, I have subsequently removed and re-installed iTunes with no change. Under the Summary tab for the device I have checked only Sync only checked songs and videos. On the Music tab I have checked Sync Music, Entire music library. 0 songs is indicated next to Sync Music. This has been going on forever. Since I list to podcasts primarily, I have let this problem ride, but now I'd like to resolve it.
BTW I can still connect my Gen 5 and sync the entire library to it. What gives?

It has no speaker so it isn't surprising you don't hear music when it has no headphones plugged in.
Have you tried a different set of headphones? And the jack is very tight on a new Nano, make sure the plastic on the headset jack is flush with the body of the nano.

  • How can I restore all the music from my iPod touch to a new iTunes/computer?

I have an iPod touch 4th gen running on iOS6, a computer running on Windows 7, and iTunes version 10.7.0.21 (newest as updated today).
Basically my laptop got destroyed beyond repair, the laptop that my iPod was synched to.
I have iTunes now on another computer, how can I get my music from my iPod to the iTunes on the new computer? Even getting it onto the computer will do at this point, as I don't want to have to download/rip CDs to get my entire music collection back.
When my iPod is plugged in I can click on 'transfer purchases' but this only restores the apps to iTunes.
When I had my old iPod classic, and was using an older version of iTunes, when I plugged my iPod into a new iTunes it said something along the lines of 'there is music on this iPod that is not currently in your iTunes, would you like to transfer to iTunes?' But there is no option like this now, I don't know if it's because its a different and newer iPod, or because a newer version of iTunes.
Please tell me there's a way to copy all my music from my iPod to my computer, and preferably straight into iTunes so I don't have to input all the info again.
Don'tcha just miss the old 'copy and paste music' mp3 players you had as a kid? *sighs at how complicated technology got*

  • Is it possable to download music from an iPod to iPhone, Is it possable to download music from an iPod to iPhone

Is it possable to download music from an iPod to iPhone?

    No.
You either use iTunes to sync it to your phone, or if purchased from the iTunes store, you can merely download it directly on your phone.

  • I accidently erased all the music from my iPod and it isn't in my iTunes because I just got a new computer.

I was trying to transfer the music from my iPod to my new iTunes via a third party program, and I ended up erasing all of the music from my iPod.  I am unable to get onto the iTunes on my old computer, where all my music was stored, and the iTunes on my new computer, of course, has nothing in it.  So now I have no music on either my iPod or iTunes.  At this point, I don't really care about the things I didn't purchase from iTunes.  I'm just wondering if there is any way to get all the music back that I've purchased from iTunes in the past without having to purchase it again, other than by downloading it.

You don't have to purchase it again, but you do have to download it.  See Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

I have a new pc windows 7 and when i plug in my ipod it says it must erase all the data to sync.  How do i get the music from my ipod to my new computer.  The old computer is trashed and files are not available, songs are only on ipod.

One of the reasons why including your iTunes library with your computer's backup is a good idea. Use this link for future reference in this regard.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, and iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

  • How to transfer music from a iPod classic to computer to add to the existing library on computer but Without it erasing the music on the ipod when done?

Trying to figure out to transfer music to computer to add to the existing libary  without erasing the music on the ipod.

You can transfer music from iPod to computer by these steps:
Open iTunes on your old computer.
Connect your iPod to your old computer and wait for it to appear in iTunes.
Select your iPod on the left side of the iTunes window under the Devices section to display your iPod preferences.
Click the Summary tab in the main iTunes window.
Select the "Manually manage music" checkbox. This will also select Enable disk use.
If the above steps does not work, you can try some 3rd party apps like iPod Transfer.

  • How do I transfer music from my ipod to the itunes on my Windows 7 pc.

I have thousands of songs in my iTunes on my computer, except many of them are listed with the dreaded "!"
indicating the song cannot be found on the computer. This was before the 'cloud.'  So now, when tried to put all my songs into the cloud, many are listed as 'missing.'    I have searched the computer and truly the song is no longer there.  I have my views about the fact that mostly all of the missing songs were NOT bought from iTunes library, but let's skip that for a minute.
Anyway, most of the 'lost' songs are on my iPod touch.  I want to add them to my iCloud, and also back to my computer.
    How do I do it.
Please note I did not use regular "sync" because, from experience when I have synced an IPod in the past,
and songs were on the IPod but not found in the iTunes library, the sync ERASED all songs from the iPod which were not
in the iTunes library------exactly what i was trying to avoid.
I swear these people at Apple hate when you have music from your own CD's and not bought from them.
Anyways, anyone who can tell me how to do this, it will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Patrick

  • How can I transfer music from my ipod to a blank cd?

I downloaded music from my computer at work in to my ipod and now I want to transfer it to a blank CD but don't know how? Will someone please enlighten me. Thank you in advance for your help.

Whoa! I didn't "recommend" any software for you to download. I merely pointed you to a link which contains suggestions/instructions on how to move music from the iPod to the computer. Option 2 in that link for instance doesn't need any software download.
In any event, all you should have been doing is copying the music from iPod to computer and it's difficult to know what you did that caused the music to be erased from your iPod.
Any music not on your iPod or computer is lost unless you want to try some data recovery software (assuming you haven't begun to write over the iPods hd). It's not guaranteed that you'll recover any music this way, and this type of software is rarely free.
Sorry to say this, but this is just another example of why it's not a good idea to keep the music on your iPod only.
