HT1386 album  cover doesn't match song playing

I plugged my iphone into the computer to sync it and now the album covers don't match song playing. How can I fix this?

I have this same problem.  The iPhone 5 cover art does not match any of the songs.  The iPad 1 works perfectly off the same iTunes library.  I went through the iTunes library and everything is correct their.
I tried deleting all of the music and resyncing.  It did not change.
Any thoughts?

  • When i add my own album cover it splits the songs up

when i add my own album cover it splits the songs up making it look like that the songs are from different albums...
it doesn't happen to all of the albums that i've added my own covers to...i make sure that all the TAG info is the same for everything with the exception of the song title. and blank all the other categories by checking the info boxes so that it will erase any info in any of the categories...
it'll show that like one track by itself then like 3 by their self then like 8 and back to one....and once i delete the album artwork it'll go back to looking like it's all from one album which it should.

I had a similar problem. This may sound dumb, but check the case (upper case / lower case) of every letter of the album name and make sure each song is EXACTLY the same (choose one song and do a copy paste to the rest). I don't know why adding album art causes the songs to appear to be from different albums, but once I matched the album name down to the case, I was fine.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Artwork doesn't match song/artist

I purchased iTunes match recently and then turned it on my iPhone. Now some of the artwork doesn't match the artist. For example, whenever I play a Cher song the artwork for Rihanna shows up. This is not the case on my iMac. The artwork is correct in iTunes or if there is no artwork it is blank like it's supposed to be.
So far I am not impressed with iTunes match. There are too many problems with it. I wish I wouldn't have purchased it.
My question is: how can I get the artwork to match the artist? I've seen other suggestions, such as deleting the song and downloading it again, but it didn't work.

I had that problem also. what worked for me was finding the album art that you want from the internet and save it to the desktop and then goto itunes and right click on the album then get info then drag the album art onto artwork then click ok. after you do that to all the albums that you want it done to then goto store then update itunes match. after it is finish updating then goto your iphone and quit the music app and then open it back up. once it loads up then the art should be there. It might seem like alot but try doing that for 13000 songs like i had to do.

  • New ipod picture of album cover does no appear when playing HELP

    Hello
I bought a new colour screen ipod over christmas and I thought that when you are playing songs a picture of the album cover would appear on the screen, is there a specific setting I need to set up to get this, hopefully some of you can help me thanks

If you are getting the music from itunes they should have the artwork with them. If you are getting the songs elsewhere then you will have to manually add the art work.
Click the ipod options buttong in itunes and make sure the option to dispay artwork is checked.

  • How to apply album cover picture to all songs on cd not just one at a time?

i found agreat website with free cd covers for my songs that will show up in the corner of my ipod. but i can figure out how to apply the picture to all the songs in an alubm an dnot just one, i can only drag the picture into the box in itunes one by one.

I highly recommend Album Cover Finder
    http://www.amphonicdesigns.com/albumcoverfinder/
It's not free, but it's worth the small investment of 9 bucks.
I just point it to my iTunes library and it batch uploads the artwork to every file automatically.

  • Visualization of album artwork ever time a song plays is itunes

I get this pop up on my desktop in the center of a screen with the album artwork popping up when a song plays (old or new songs) in itunes. It is there for 2 seconds as the song starts and goes away and i think it has to do with some visualization settings but can't figure out what it is. Can anyone tell me how to shut it off it is bothering me and i can't figure it out.
    Thanks in advance
    Power Book G4 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Yep. I know You Control Tunes does this. If you have this app, you should have rewind, play/pause & fast-forward buttons in your menu bar, to the right, near the clock and spotlight button. Click on the menu arrow to the right of these buttons, down at the bottom, there should be a "Controls" menu. Make sure "Show Overlay" is not checked. If it is, there's your problem.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's not this program. But hey, worth a shot, right?

  • IPod album art does not match song

Whenever I play songs on my iPod the album art is messed up. The art does not show up with the correct song and I don't know what to do. I have checked and all of the album art is correct on the computer. I don't know what is wrong with my iPod and I would like to be able to solve this problem without having to send my iPod out to Apple. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

If you have an iTunes store account, you can use the "get album artwork" option in iTunes. You don't actually need to purchase anything from the iTunes store, just to have or create an account. Provided that the album or song for which you are looking to add artwork is available for sale in the store, iTunes will find it and add it to your library.
If you go to preferences/general in iTunes and check the box marked "automatically download missing album artwork", it will automatically add the artwork when you import a CD into iTunes.
One downside to this is that if you have an album or song misspelled in your iTunes library, it may not be found by iTunes because it will be looking for a match.
See: How to add artwork using iTunes.
If you don't have an account or don't want to create one, here are a couple of other methods.
First off, make sure you have "show album art" enabled in iPod options.
Highlight a song or album in iTunes, then right click on it and select the "get album artwork" option.

Go to Google Image Search and type in the artist/album name and click on search images.

Double click on a picture you like, then at the top of that page click on "see full size image".

When you get that image, simply copy/paste it into the space for album artwork in iTunes.

Make sure you select the album in the browser of iTunes before you copy/paste.

You'd be surprised what Google Images can bring up. There are literally millions, and even obscure album artwork can be found.
In the unlikely event that Google can’t find an image, you can also get artwork from Amazon.
If you’re happy using images from Amazon, and don’t want to copy/paste, then iTunes Art Importer is a nice free program to do it for you.

  • After upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow not displaying song playing. Why not?

Since upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow is not displaying the currently playing song. It will simply display the first cover in the playlist. Also, the screen saver starts during playback, unlike Snow Leopard. Any ideas on how to fix? I have already repaired disk and permissions but problem persists.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I tried restarting my mac and my iphone a bunch of times, reinstalling iTunes after deleting dozens of files, and it didn't help at all.
I re-installed X-Code (had to use Activity Monitor to kill iTunes Helper in the middle of the install) and then my iPhone synced again!

  • TS1717 I downloaded an album, and two of the songs play for about 10 seconds then it jumps to the next song on the album

i downloaded an album from itunes store into my itunes library on my computer.  two of the songs downloaded a few seconds of music and then skipped to the next song.  only had partial downloads for a portion of the music.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • HT4914 Source Album Data on Store Matching Songs???

SORRY - Posted to wrong community.
I am new to iTunes Match.  I will be loading my library (20,000 songs) very soon.  Many of my songs are old RnR songs that appear on many "Oldies" albums.  Will I keep my album source data on the Cloud site - or will it pick some other album source data???

What I understand is that I will probably loose the actual album source information and I will no longer be able to select all the songs from one of my albums by album title?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this, but if you mean the ID3 tag information embedded in the music files, your assumption is incorrect. The ID3 tags in your iTunes library are not touched. I don't know what you mean in the second part of your sentence.

  • Different album art in coverflow and song played

Sometimes the album art in coverflow differs from the one in the lower left corner. Why is that and can I sync them, so they have the same cover?

    Hi.
I had the same problem. The good news is that you can fix it. The bad news is that it may take you quite a bit of time.
The problem is that the metadata is inconsistent in some of your albums. Take a look at the metadata for the albums you are having problems with and make sure that all the tags are consistent.
For example, I had one song on a Beatles album that for some reason had a different year than the other songs on that album. This caused everything on that album to picking the artwork from a Pat Benatar album I had.
    Here's what you do.
    (1) List all the albums with messed up artwork and the albums that the wrong artwork is from.
    (2) In iTunes, check all the songs on each album to make sure that the metadata is consistent.
    (3) Erase the music from the iPod Touch (sync to a blank playlist).
    (4) Resync the music to the iPod Touch.
If you find further problems, then just repeat this process. It took me three goes to fix everything on my 16 gig touch.
