- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Do you, perhaps, mean "sync" instead of "download?" Please describe the problem you are having in more detail so we can better help you. Include the exact text of any error messages you are getting.

I have an ipod nano, classic and Iphone4s...i download itunes, it says it is completely downloaded, i go to play it either on my pc or on one of my devices and it plays about 24 seconds of the song and skips to the next song. Sometimes it continues to "play" as in the timer is still moving but there is no sound or picture...how do i fix this? It is really frustrating...i let it go with one or 2 songs but when it is everything I download any more I'm getting fed up. I tried going into the info on the song and options and making sure it didn't have the stop time changed (the solution that apple support gave me) Any solutions? I want to actually listen to the music I download!!!

Can anyone help me pair my BT keyboard with my password protected Mac Mini? I am currently unable to log in to Mac Mini since the BT keyboard has become unpaired. The wireless mouse is working. I also have an I Pad and an I Phone as well as Mac TV.

GailI had exactly the same issue, that the Apple wireless keyboard became unpaired, and I couldn't get past the password-protected log-in screen, because I didn't have a wired keyboard laying around.
OK folks,
Discovered by trial and error that it was the wireless mouse (not an Apple brand) that was preventing the keyboard from pairing, even though it's not a bluetooth mouse...
Here's the steps I used...
1. Disconnected the USB mouse cord from the Mac Mini.
2. Turned off the Apple wireless keyboard from switch on the back.
3. Turn Mac Mini off, then back on.
4. Waited for it to boot up as far as the password-protected screen.
5. Turned on the Apple wireless keyboard, waited for it to stop blinking, indicating (hoping) that it paired up.
6. And voila... was able to then type in the password...
7. Then plugged the non-Apple wireless mouse sensor cord back into the Mac Mini's USB port
I also immediately went in to the MacMini's Sharing options and set that up for remote management in case something else happens down the road for other problems...
Thanks though to all who suggested solutions... they may come in handy in the future.

Everything was fine in iOS6 - I do not know why I updated something that WAS working fine!
But I have and now I cannot connect my MacPro nor my MBP, to my iPhone 5
I have tried every suggestion I can find, both here and on other venues.
All equipment is signed in to the same iCloud account,
The iPhone internet via Verizon LTE is working fine (by itself) ie I can browse on the phone etc
Hot spot shows on both Mac's - and both Mac's will tether to iPhone - but nothing will load in Safari, nor Mail
Both computers are running OS 10.7.5, I had no problems before the update.
The update did crash the phone which then went into recovery mode and restored from back-up.
I really need a solution and fast - I am loosing $$$
Thank YouI now have two threads on this - anyone reading - it seems after a 2nd full restore it's working again - fingers crossed!

Exactly as I mentioned above, the app just gives a flasha nd returns to the home screen, I have tried everything and nothing has really worked. Any suggestions?
Basic troubleshooting steps straight out of the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW. Have you been through ALL of these steps?

I purchased the 30 day subscription of Adobe Pro for my Mac Air and downloaded the app and opened it as instructed. Nothing appears to happen after that and I have been unable to use Adobe Pro thus far.
I previously downloaded a trial version of Adobe Pro and had used it the last 30 days. Today I just clicked on the link from my purchase confirmation and downloaded some type of installer. Once I clicked on the installer and gave it permission to do whatever it needed to do, it just sort of stalled. I am running Mac OS Yosemite. I thought Yosemitie might be part of the problem because it has given me occasional problems with Word and some other programs.

My Ipad and macbookair have been stolen. How can I find the imei code of both devices considering that were all registered on icloud?
Unless you have configured iCloud on the MacBook Air and made sure that Find My Mac was turned on, you can't track that. And even if you did do that, that is not a foolproof method of tracking, as it relies on the thief connecting to the internet using the guest account on the machine and not getting in to your account and disabling Find My Mac or wiping the hard drive and installing a clean system.
As for the iPad, similar rules apply there. If it is a wifi-only iPad, it cannot be tracked any other way. If it has 3G, your wireless carrier may be able to help you track it. -
After installing the latest update to itunes, and my ipod, I can no longer sync my computer and my ipod nomatter what I do. I have tried everything I know and can read. I am beginning to think it has something to do with the password that I changed, but I tried to change it back and nothing happens. Does anybody have any suggestions. I have been working on this for three hours and I can't figure it out? Apple is no help and it was their updates that messed the whole thing up.

While doing the backup via iTune, my contacts in iPhone AND iPad have been completely wiped out. They are still all available on my Address Book on my Mac. Any idea what happened and how to resolve this ?
Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

I have been having problems with my iPod touch and my WRT54G router. I am so frustrated right now because after following the various steps mentioned in one of these threads, following Earthlink's prompts, and speaking with Apple, my iPod touch will still not work. It is connected to the internet but will not download the pages. It is quite frustrating. I have changed from WPA to WEP, I switched the 4th Generated key to the 1st. I've disabled this, enabled that. I've done just about everything. I updated the firmware. I made the switch from a partial bridge to a full bridge. Still nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? The one thing I have not done is enter the Apple code into the iPod which searches for website...-- I cannot access the internet with my iPod so this web address does not work. If anyone has been successful, will you please give me step by step instructions? Yesterday I was on the phone with Linksys for about an hour. Before that with Apple for about an hour and before that with Earthlink. How it is that I can walk into a Bread Co. or Apple Store and immediately connect to the internet with my iPod but I can't in my own house?? Everyone seems to think it is someone else's problem so I've gone around and around. Not one of the Linksys support personnel suggested I look here on this community forum. I had to pay the $9 fee to have advanced Linksys help but still my iPod does not work and when I called back, the man I spoke with seemed to think the case was closed because my PC, Laptop, and iPod are connected to the internet -- the iPod just won't download the webpages or get mail. 1. Settings - wifi - linksys
2. Erase your DNS settings & input same numbers as in router
Settings.
3. Http proxy should be
in off position.
4. Close out & open safari you should now have a wireless
connection. -

You should still be able to sync you iPod. Your iPod just can be updated past iOS 4.2.1.
Assuming you have a PC, start her to get your computer to see the iPod.

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Are you sure that these times are still selected to sync in iTunes?
When you connect your iPad to your PC and with iTunes running, select your iPad under the devices button in the upper right corner of the iTunes window. Then click on the Movies tab and make sure that the movies are selected (checked) to sync. Check the playlists in the Music tab as well.
