HT1386 Downloaded podcasts in iTunes not syncing  to iphone5

I can no longer sync my itunes downloaded podcasts to my iphone. It says it still syncing but when I go into my podcast app the episodes still require to be downloaded.

Check the Podcast in your iTunes Podcasts Library because Apple's new "method" for telling us the status of a Podcast in the Library leaves a lot to be desired.
If an episode has a cloud-with-a-downward-arrow in it, then it is not downloaded onto your computer, so that's why it isn't on your iPod. That's Apple's way of telling you there are extra episodes available. Apparently, the old method wasn't good enough!
Click on the cloud to download that particular episode.

  • Downloading podcasts in iTunes not automatic

I missed a really good podcast of BBC Radio 4 In Our Time a couple of weeks ago because I did not run iTunes during the 7 days following the broadcast - although my computer was connected to the internet during that time and I had checked Podcasts and Check for updates automatically in the iTunes General Preferences.
Why doesn't it work like OS X Software Update which starts itself automatically at the interval I set in Software Preferences? I never miss software updates.
    Jeff

I am marking this as answered as no-one seems to be interested. I guess I just have to be careful to run iTunes at least once a week to get all the episodes on my podcast list.

  • Why does my downloaded film from iTunes not sync to my iPhone?

I cannot work out how to get my iPhone to sync and include the film I've just downloaded from iTunes. Feel as if I've tried all the obvious things. Any clues welcome?

Have you gone to the video tab (in itunes) and selected sync movies and selected the movie that you want synced?

  • ITunes not syncing music

    Hello,
I am having a problem with iTunes not syncing music to my iPad. I want to have my entire library on my iPad, this used to fit.
A few weeks ago I started getting an error, most of my music had vanished. I attempted to sync it back, but was told that there was not enough space on my iPad, despite no new files being added.I looked again and noticed something. I had 20GB of OTHER in iTunes, this is approximately the size of my music library.
It is fairly clear what happened, the music files were corrupted somehow, but were still there and taking up space on the iPad. So I decided to restore my iPad. First restoring and once everything had been wiped and back to factory setting, restoring from a backup.
This worked and I was left with only 1gb of other. At this point there was still no music on my device sync music was unchecked.
So once I was sure everything was up and running, I checked the sync music box... and nothing happened. It would begin synching, it would determine the tracks to sync for a moment... then it would quickly finish syncing without adding the music files.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you authorized your new computer: Store>Authorize this Computer?

  • ITunes not Syncing Lossless files to iPod?

Itunes not syncing Apple Lossless files to iPod?
I had a couple FLAC encoded CD's, and i recoded them into Apple Lossless using dBpoweramp.
These Apple Lossless files load perfectly into iTunes (Playable)
But no matter what I do, I can't get iTunes to put the files onto my iPod. But from what I've seen, my iPod should support these files! (I tagged all the lossless files with a unique Artist name, and told iTunes to only sync that Artist. Even then it wouldn't sync.)
Ipod Classic 6th gen 120 gb, Software version 2.0.1
    iTunes version 9.0.1.8
    Using Windows 7 RC 64-bit
How do I get this to work?

Same problem here, same application versions. I'm trying to get them to sync to an iPhone but it doesn't actually sycnc. They play without issue in iTunes. I converted them from flac to Apple lossless using dbpoweramp.
    Any suggestions would be helpfull

  • ITunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists

I have some smaller iPods that I use on random occasions. When I sync them, I choose the following options:
    Sync Music:
    Selected Playlists, artists, genres
    Music Videos - Not Checked
Automatically fill free space with songs - Checked
I have two playlists from which I wish a selection to be made, which exceeds the size of the iPod (they were designed for larger devices synced with this machine). When I attempt to Sync, I get a message saying that the iPod is too small, and would I like iTunes to automatically choose songs to sync. If I click no, the sync is canceled. If I click yes to have a subset of my two playlists automatically choosen, the ipod will sync, but then iTunes clears all of my selected playlists and starts syncing songs from all playlists.
This seems like a bug in iTunes to me, as it is not performing the requested options. Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to get it fixed? Or to get a bug report sent in to Apple? I have been going all over the place on their support page, and since this isn't an issue with the iPod, but with iTunes, I haven't been able to find a support avenue.

iTunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists
You have it selected to *sync selected playlists* and those playlists are not syncing to the iPod?
however this seems to be very counter-intuitive behavior for iTunes
It can be kind of confusing.
I suggest it's not a bug in that it is acting as it's supposed to.
The option (Fill free space) could be made clearer. Perhaps if they added "with songs at random from the entire library" or somehow added an option to select what the free space will be filled with.)
    1) The fact that iTunes it is not obeying the selected options on the screen
    Not supposed to do that.
If the playlists all fit and there is free space, what would iTunes use to fill the free space if it only used selected items?
    2) iTunes is allowing users construct an unhonorable set of choices out of four options. If "Selected playlists, artists and genres" is not compatible with "Automatically fill free space," then that option should be grayed out.
    It is compatible.
If there is free space after your selections are added, what should iTunes use to fill the free space? It shouldn't fill the free space with stuff already on the iPod.

  • Why is my latest itunes not syncing music with my music on my iphone 4s with iOS 7?

Why is my latest itunes not syncing music with my music on my iphone 4s with iOS 7?

Here's what I did. If you have an existing playlist and add a song to it, drag the whole playlist into the phone icon. It will ask if you want to Replace the playlist..YES. In my case i added one song in the playlist to test it. It synced the one song and also kept all the other songs but it didnt run through every song, so it was really fast. This is what I would do...drag and drop. Also, I shut down my phone and started it again, before I did the sync. I hope this helps

  • I download podcasts to iTunes, arrange em in Playlists, sync em to my iphone, listen to em on Podcasts app. For some reason, not every podcast loads from iTunes to my phone. In one playlist, I have 48 episodes on iTunes, only 35 load to my iPhone. Why?

In some cases, but not all, the Podcast app doesn't sync podcast episodes with the same Title, even though the episode may be from a different date and is therefore a different episode. The Podcast app seems to think it is a duplicate episode but it is not.  I wish Apple would just allow podcasts to load to, and be listened to, from the Music app.

    Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

My iPhone 4S will not sync with the music I have selected in iTunes.  Has anyone else had this issue and what is the best way to fix it.

    Hi,
    Setting up syncing
Before setting up syncing you should download and install the latest version of iTunes. Wi-Fi syncing requires iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later. You can change your sync options at any time. Each time you sync, content is synced between your iOS device and computer to reflect new, updated, or deleted content.
    USB syncing
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable and select it in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side. Some tabs may not appear if you do not have corresponding content in your library. For example if you do not have any podcasts in your library, the corresponding Podcast tab will not appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
    Hope this helps

    Does anything sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?

  • ITunes 10.5, Creating iPod version of podcast makes iTunes not responsive

MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz Intel Core Duo with 4 GB RAM) running 10.6.8.  iTunes version 10.5.  After downloading a 71MB .mp4 podcast through subscription, when I attempt to make an iPod version of the podcast (Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version)  iTunes consistently hangs with the spinning beachball.  Activity Monitor shows that iTunes has become not responsive, and force quitting is the only solution.  In the /Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts folder is a zero KB .m4v file.  Curiously, everything works properly on a 10 year old iMac running 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1.

Stephen Schulte2 wrote:Can anyone tell me if you are running iTunes 10.5 and using an iPod Touch 1st Gen running iOS 3.1.3 and able to sync contacts, addresses, get eMail etc.?  My Mac is a Mid-2010 MacBook Pro-13" running Snow Leopard 10.6.8---
I have a similar setup and after some initial problems, I can tell you that syncing now works for me.
    1st-gen iPod touch iOS 3.1.3
    iTunes 10.5
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
When I first upgraded to iTunes 10.5 and connected my iPod, iTunes didn't even recognize it in the sidebar and it didn't show that I had any backups for any devices. The iPod was recognized by iPhoto, so I knew it wasn't a problem with the cable or something like that.
So I took the advice in the other thread and downloaded the full iTunes installer. I deleted four com.apple.iTunes[xxx].plist files from ~/Library/Preferences/, ran the installer, repaired permissions, and rebooted. To my amazement, when I launched iTunes and plugged in my iPod, it and its previous backups were recognized, and a fresh backup and sync ran without any problems.

  • Itunes not syncing to iphone 5

I have the iphone 5 version 6.1.4 and I want to sync my library to my phone and ipad but it is not allowing me saying that I need the itunes version 10.7 or higher when I have 10.6 so I went to itunes to download the new itunes and it wont let me download the new itunes saying that I need OSX version 10.6.8 or later. Can anyone help steer me in the right direction?

I had a similar issue.  Music that was on my previous iPhone, shows up in my Library, is authorized on my device, was purchased with same account...etc, did not show up under the Artist!  Two songs from two different Albums for the same Artist were there, but I was missing an entire album.  I had the idea to look for the individual title of one of the songs, and I found it there on my phone!  It just wasn't listed under the Artist...really weird.  So I went to my iTunes Library, got the Info for the songs that weren't listed under the Artist Category, and found that the song was checked "Part of a Compilation".  I unchecked it for one of the songs, re-synced, and it showed up under the Artist!  I went into each song that was missing under the Artist category and unchecked that box, and I now see the entire Album under the Artist Category (which is how I often look for music).  Was really happy it was that easy, because I just spent about two hours checking purchase history, authorized devices, etc.  Not sure why that box caused the songs to  not show up, but glad it worked.  Good luck!

  • TS2313 error message downloading podcasts in itunes

Whenever I try to download podcast episodes from iTunes I get an error message that reads: "There was a problem downloading <podcast>.  The file directory is corrupted or unreadable."  I don't understand this, because it happens with all of my podcasts.  It says check the URL connection, but the internet is fine and iTunes is working just fine.  I have previously downloaded these podcasts before without problems.  I unsubscribed and deleted all of the podcasts' content and then resubscribed, but it did not help.  What do I do?

I am marking this as answered as no-one seems to be interested. I guess I just have to be careful to run iTunes at least once a week to get all the episodes on my podcast list.
