I just spoke with a friend who like you is into Apple and he just walked me through the Cloud. At least I was able to get those songs back.

Do you know --- the last time I tried to back up my itunes it asked for 106 cd's do you how to direct the backup to the external drive? By the way I found 3 back up cds from 2010 and 1 of the 3 cd's had an error.

I upgraded my Anti-Virus and it included a storage box which I tried to use but it filled up with my iTunes music so I deleted that but evidently it also removed a lot of my music from my iTunes libraries. Im trying to import music from widows media player to itunes, but when i delete the music from media player itunes can no longer locate it, i just want the music saved to itunes so its not taking up double the space.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

Unfortunately it uses the single term "transferring library" for two very different moves; relocating just your media (not recommended unless you really need this configuration) and relocating media+database (really your whole "library"). Make sure you understand the difference before electing to move only media.
If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

HT2519, look that up on support.apple.com in the search bar in the top right hand corner, it will teach you how to download past purchases to your iTunes library or whatever means you so chose through the article it should walk you through it. You ARE allowed to download past purchased music, but like someone previously stated, only in the USA.

I am a mental health professional. My supervisor emails me confidential information as Word documents, which I download using Firefox. When the download is complete, I open the document and save it to my secured flash drive. I would like to then delete the file from my computer, so the flash drive has the only copy, to protect my clients' privacy. The only directions I can find are for deleting the entry from the downloads list, but not the file itself.

There is technology known as RMS which you could set series of policies like only members in the company could access certain documents and if someone copy them and attempt to run them in another PC or outside company, it won't work. Take a look at:

You buy one and only one download.
This is why it is very important to make sure that everything is on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

How do I find the music I downloaded?

We have a friend who we downloaded music from to our computer. Then we moved it from the computer to the ipod. When we plug the Ipod into the car, we can hear all the music that was downloaded. But when trying to just listen to the Ipod through earbuds, we can't get any of this new music we downloaded. And it's also not listed anywhere in any of our playlists. Any suggestions?

Playlists are defined by you, in iTunes. Unless you put those new songs on a playlist (that was then synced to the iPod), those songs will not be there.
You can look for songs in several ways, on the iPod. For example, from the main iPod menu screen
Music -> Songs --- Songs are listed alphabetically
Music -> Artists -> [name of artist] -> All Songs --- Songs by artist are listed alphabetically
Music -> Album -> [name of album] --- Song on album are listed in track number order
If you want the songs to be on one playlist, you can create that playlist in iTunes, put the songs on it, then sync it to your iPod.
