I recently had to uninstall itunes and reinstall it again. How do I get my previously purchased music back on my itunes?

Depending on what country that you are in you might be able to re-download past music purchases via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page - re-downloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
But if you only re-installed iTunes and you didn't remove the actual music from your computer, then it should still be on there, and you should be able to add it back into iTunes via File > Add Folder To Library - by default your iTunes content should have been stored under :
    Windows 7 and Vista : \users\username\My Music\iTunes.
    Windows XP : \user\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes.

  • How do I get songs I purchased on a different computer to my IPOD?

I mainly use my home computer when downloading itunes to my ipod. I have my office computer set up as an authorized computer also. I have downloaded songs into my office computer but they will not show up on my ipod. How can I get them on there? I am scared that if I sync with this computer, I may loose the other songs that I downloaded at home. Is that correct?

You'll need third-party software for content not purchased from the iTunes Store. Check out this post from Zevoneer for some iPod/iPhone media recovery options:

  • How can I get songs to copy to my iPod when my computer is already authorized I get a message that states I cannot copy those songs because it tells me I need to authorize my computer?

I get the following message when I sync my iPod Touch to my macbook in an attempt to copy songs to the iPod:
Some of the items in the iTunes library, including “----------”, were not copied to the iPod “------------------- iPod” because you are not authorized for then on this computer. To authorize this computer for items purchased  from the iTunes Store, choose Store > Authorize This Computer
Then when I go to the iTunes Store and authorize my computer, it tells me that it is already authorized. I sure would like to get those 45 songs onto my iPod.

    Hello jutrzopx,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Can you play those tracks, the tracks that you’re unable to sync to the iPod, in iTunes? Make sure that you’ve authorized the computer to play purchases from each Apple ID that you've used with the iTunes Store, as shown in the article linked below.
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
Authorize using the correct account name
The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:
Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you'll need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.
Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item and does not change if the account name (Apple ID) changes.
If you've authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary tab, you can check the purchase history for that Apple ID from Store > View My Account. If your purchase history does not reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, consider any other Apple ID you may have created, and authorize the computer for your additional Apple ID.
If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.
The article provides additional troubleshooting suggestions that may resolve the issue, If that doesn’t take care of it.

  • How do you get songs on iphone that you deleted from itunes?

When I had a older version of itunes, I deleted a few songs. With the new version of itunes, they are back in the library. After a couple of years, I want to listen to these songs on my phone. Since they are in my itunes, can I get them back on my iphone and ipod?

Sync the iGadget with the computer, configuring iTunes to upload all the tunes. Or manually select & transfer the songs from the iTunes local storage to the phone.

  • How do I get my music from an old iPod to itunes on a new PC

I have an iPod full of music, both downloaded via iTunes and copied from CD. My old PC is no longer available. How do I get my music onto iTunes on my new PC?
    Thanks

    - Transfer your iTunes' purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Try making a backup of the iPod by right clicking on the iPod  under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
    - Connect your new iPod and restore the iPod from that backup if you wish.

  • How can I get songs not purchased on itunes off of my ipad2 and into itunes without using an external harddrive?

This has been a problem forever.  I don't want to blank my devices and sync them.  I just want to move files between them.  It is a huge pain in a** that you can't just drag files around.
I have music from before ipods.  It was put on an pc years ago that used to be linked to my current ipad2.  All of my music is on the ipad2.  that old pc has been reformatted and is now used as a workstation with only a few programs on it.  I now have a new pc.  I want my music on this pc.  why am i not allowed to do this through itunes?  why does syncing not take files on my ipad that aren't on my pc?  why must i erase all of my data on the device in order to sync with itunes that has no data to sync?
All of the music i have purchased through itunes is fine.  all of the apps are fine.  what possible reason could there be for me not being permitted to take things that i own and put them on other things that i own?
I also have a new 5s.  Why must i also erase this to put one friggin playlist on it?
Could i do this using an external hardrive? maybe.  in an incredibly and overly laborious way.  when the friggin files are right there.  when i can look at them, and even play them through my pc from my ipad, but moving them over so i can put them on my phone....  **** no.  the world would explode then.
The sync options should have a choice of putting all the combined data from both devices on both devices.  I have absolutely no understanding of why in the year 2013 this is still a problem.
Most likely for the 10 trillionth time on this forum, how do i do this?

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
While I agree that it would be nice if it was easier to transfer media from your Apple devices they should never be used as the sole location for any of your media. They are too easily lost, stolen, damaged, or corrupted. The user tip above also includes a link to a suggested library backup strategy so that you can avoid being in the same position in future.
