HT1386 I can't see my ipad in itunes

I used to be able to sync my ipad with itunes. Now when I connect it to the computer I don't see it appear. Vista 64 bit. My iphone works with no problems.

if you haven't already, I swap out the known good cables and see if that makes a difference. Here are some basic additional tips

The issue is complicated because the other iOS device does work, pointing to some type of fault with either your cabling for the iPad or the connector or software....but start with the above TS. Any changes to your environment?

On your iPhone, try toggling Find My iPhone off, then back on after a few seconds.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

I think there's still something amiss here.
I have the v25 Folio Producer Tools for CS5.5 and the v25 Folio Builder panel. (I'm on 10.6.8 for reference.)
I also have the latest v25 CV from the App Store, and with my iPad Mini plugged in, and the Content Viewer open, the option to side-load still isn't showing.
I thought it might be because I also had a v24 viewer (custom built) installed, but that's not the case. I uninstalled both of them and just downloaded the v25 viewer from the App Store. The result was the same.

Were both devices sync'ing their notes to iCloud? Or was one set to sync, and the other just to backup?
If you look in settings -> iCloud you needed to have the slider by Notes "ON" for both devices if you wanted to sync notes between both of them and iCloud. In that case, notes on each would be identical, and the same as you can view in the Notes app on www.iCloud.com
If you had the Notes slider "OFF" and the iCloud Backup option "ON" then your notes should be in your backup and restoreable, but you will not see them online in the Notes app there.
