since i purchased my lap top i havn't been unable to sync my iphone at ll. What do i do?

1. Make sure the new computer has the latest version of iTunes
2. Try a different USB port on the computer
If neither works then what error do you receive?

To get synced photos from an iPod to a computer you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView.

Is there a way to access my old Notes only? I still have my old back up but I cant sync to my phone or it will corrupt it.

I am using an iphone 5. Recently it malfunctioned and I was told by apple that my old back up had a corruption with it an caused my phone to malfunction. Apple had to redownload the operating system. I was also told that I can not use my old back on my phone I need to delete it and manually download everything. I DID NOT USE ICLOUD. However I do have my old back up still on my mac in itunes. you can restore from your backup again just to get the notes. once you've restored from the backup, copy your notes into your icloud notes group or email them to yourself - basically, get them somewhere else so they're not just locally stored on the device. once you've moved your notes elsewhere, restore the device as new again like apple had you do. this will again put a fresh version of the operating system on your phone like it has right now
there's no other way to access the notes that are in your backup

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

Do not do what the document that led you here tells you to do. It, as it clearly states, only moves your media, not your library which is more than just a folder of music files.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

Now have new lap top but cannot get thunderbird to work

I do not know how to get a digital copy download back on the itunes store when I cannot find it in the purchase history list. The redemption number says it has been redeemed.

If the reset does not work, try restoring the iPod. First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem that inidates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Purchases can be copied to the computer by choosing "transfer purchases" from the menu in iTunes or by right clicking on the device in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases".
Every time you sync to another computer, iTunes will erase the content on the device and replace it with the one from the new iTunes library.

I'd suggest you check your iPhone's software and upgrade it if it is not the latest one. If you already have the latest iOS version I'd make sure everything is plugged-in properly (note if the iPhone is charges when you plug it in) or unplug your iPhone and plug it back, maybe you ejected it accidentally.
Do you sync your iPhone over Wi-Fi? Maybe if you mark this option you cannot sync it using the wire...
If it's still not working I'd restore the iPhone and try it again.
