I guess you've figured out that the answer is "yes". Remember you can do groups of songs (like an album) at a time by selecting them and doing "get info". Also, by saving album art in the mp3 file, you can save it permanently.

Thanks for the reply. My clips are .mov files coming from a Nikon D7000 dslr, 1080p @ 24fps, stored on internal hdd in which I have 90Gb free space. I tried with clips from a jvc camera as well, with the same problem. I intstalled FCPX, created a new event and a new project. I tried several imports for the files: both with and without creating optimized media and proxy. I even tried with a 1 second clip, which didn't work in either case. I have also tried setting playback options to both "play original media" and "play proxy". No difference. Background processes show 100% complete and no other apps running. I tried importing with and without copying to Final Cut Events folder. No difference. Same for having the files on both internal or external drives. I'm new to video, so probably I'm doing something wrong, if only I knew... To be complete: I also tried the project properties on automatic and manual settings (1080p 24fps and stereo audio). According to some articles I read, I also tried setting audio to dual mono iso stereo but to no avail. I am running Lion latest version and have done all software updates. Also discarded the FCPX app and downloaded and installed again. No help there. 4Gb of RAM on a mid 2010 Macbook Pro. On my iMac of 4 months it runs perfectly, but need it on the MBP. I'm willing to believe that with bare minimum VRAM it will run slow, but not playing at all??? The same clips play nicely in Quicktime. I can skim through the clips in timeline and I here the audio in accordance. Filmstrip in timeline shows up correctly nothing in viewer. Sometimes I get a black rectangle in the viewer on top of the dark grey background, but anyway as soon as I hit space, the app gives me spinning beachball and "not responding" in the dock....

I have installed itunes but get massage coming up saying cannot be used because required software is not installed, run itunes installer to remove itunes, then install itunes again. I have done this but still not able to connect my iphone, ipad or ipod.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Thanks a lot for your advice.
Deleting the correupted back up means to delete the information of one month since the last back up I made is one month ago.....right?
This back up I made right before I restored my iphone. During the restore however my OS was upgraded to 5.1.1. and reading the comments on the internet it seems I am not the only one whom experience this problem.
Can it be that if I downgrade my OS back to 5.1. the back up will not be considered as corrupted? If so, how do I downgrade the iphone?

You should be able to accept this message, it will cause existing music, photos (not camera roll) and videos (also excluding those in camera roll) to be removed and replaced with those from this computer. All other user data on the iPad will be unaffected.

My phone tells me that I have 12 updates but when I press update all or update any individually nothing happens at all. It also does not ask me for my password any more but my iPad and mac book do.
I have signed in and out of the app store and the password is correct. I have tried both kinds of reboot but that did nothing. I have tried to update the apps by connecting phone to Mac book pro...it shows the apps being download on the Mac book and says it will sync them to my phone but it does not. Everything else on my phone works fine.
Any ideas ...Please!

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

With all you media (apps, music) in the iTunes library connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup. Do that by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore the iPod from that backup.
Note the the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.
