HT1386 I have my music in the icloud, but i want to have them physically on my iphone as well. itunes won't seem to let me do this . any suggestions or remedies?
i have put my music on the icloud, and use i tunes match also. i want to be able to
physically have my music on my iphone as well, but syncing doesn't seem to work.

I work around this by turning iTunes Match on on my computer, but keeping it off on my iOS devices. If you like this idea, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone and turn off iTunes Match. Then sync your device to your computer.
You may have to check iTunes settings on your computer to make sure it syncs music for you. I don't recall if that happens automatically - i don't think it does. When your iPhone is plugged in to your iTunes, open the Music tab under iPhone in iTunes on your computer and verify (or change) its sync settings.

I was blown away when I started using the new remote app with Apple tv to play music from my iMac on my best music speakers in the living room!!! However there are still 2 things required to make things ultra simple:
1 Not to have my iMac switched on to have to stream music to the Apple tv (I've now started using iTunes Match which has almost fixed this one)
2 Not have to have my TV switched on to control my amplifier through the apple tv. (I can do this using the remote app on the iphone but only for music streaming from my iMac it wont work for music I have in iCloud, apart from music now playing. I can't search/browse any other music)
If this is fixed it will be absolutely awesome!!! As my apple tv will replace all the HIFI separates apart form my amplifier and I can control what music my amp plays using the best user interface in the world my iphone/ipad
DylanHi, I don't have this bug. I can play music through my apple tv with the TV switched off and use the apple remote app to control the apple tv.
My problem involves:
icloud music ----> broadband router ----> apple tv ---->music amplifier. Using the remote app on the iphone to control whats playing. This almost works but in the remote app you can only see the currently playing song, you can't search/browse your music in the icloud (itunes match).
What does work is:
iMac-itunes music ----> apple tv ---->music amplifier controlled by the remote app in the iphone with teh tv off. I can view my itunes library with the tv off using the iphone remote app. I would like to do this but using my music in iCloud. That would be awesome!!! -

I've just moved on from an iphone 5 to an iphone 6.
I'm now on my second attempt at restoring it through the icloud.
My photos and videos are unavailable and it keeps saying I'm low on storage. At this stage it just keeps saying it's updating but it's been saying that for 8 hours and I still don;t have any photos available....any advice appreciated. It's getting a little frustating

I have years worth of music on my PC that is about to die. If I get an iPad is there anyway to get the music from my PC onto the iPad? I have the iCloud but my understanding is only music actually purchased from iTunes lives int he cloud. I have music that was legally purchased and loaded to my iTunes account from cd's that I no longer own. I need a new laptop and am deciding between the iPad and the Mac book. I use the computer for music, photos, and web - nothing else and nothing fancy. I don't know that there is a way to save my huge music library without saving it to an external hard drive and then loading it to a new one (does the iPad have a port to plug an external hard drive into?)
First, you would need to make a backup of the entire iTunes folder on the PC. You could get music to the iPad if the PC was still functioning, or you would have to move the music to another computer. An iPad is not a laptop, and does not have a port to plug an external drive into. You can sync music to the iPad from the computer, but you are correct, unless you get iTunes Match, you would need a computer to copy the music to and then sync to an iPad.

How to I get music I purchased before the iCloud was created to show up on my new authorized iPhone? Right now I can only see the Apps I recently purchased on the actual phone but older music I purchased on my CPU using the same Apple ID doesn't appear.
Does any music show in the Purchased tab on the iTunes store app on your phone ? Music can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where it can be it will only appear whilst it remains in the store. Do you have your purchases on your computer and/or on a backup of your puchases so that you can sync them to your phone ?

Can I use iCloud as my library instead of using local storage? Would I be able to synchronize the music on my phone? and make CDs out of the my music in the icloud using itunes?
Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. How I can upload all my music CDs from my laptop's itunes to the iCloud? I want to free up space on my laptop and thought the iCloud was a storage site.
It's a syncing service, not a storage site. You can access your CD music from iCloud you have to subscribe to iTiunes Match: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.

I have an apple tv 3 but when i use Home Sharing from my Windows Laptop the Apple TV shows all my music on the TV but it will only play 1 or 2 songs and then stops!!! Annoying, so I have to re-start iTunes on my Laptop and it will play 1 or 2 more songs then stops again!!! still annoying.

Next, plug the Apple TV into your computer with a micro-usb cable (most phones today use these) and start up Itunes. It should detect the Apple TV in recovery.
After that, hold down Option on Apple or Alt on Windows and click Restore. This should open a window that allows you to select the software update you want to apply. Select the one you downloaded earlier.
It will then go through the restore process, which takes only a few minutes, and then you will be able to plug the Apple TV back in to your display and set it up again.
I recently ran into a similar issue with a bunch of these things and after restoring them all to the previous software version they are working again. -
My wife and I each have an apple ID and share one macbook pro. Is it possible to use the iCloud on our shared macbook pro and our two separate iPhone 5's and not get each others information confused?

You should be able to hit the "Agree" button, if you are on an iPhone right now. On a Mac, you should just left click the button where it said "Accept". I hope this helped.

a) The up and down arrow keys

Picasa has found a very few pictures when asked to search the entire computer. Seem to be those used in other applications.

I thought my pictures was safe in the iCloud, but I was not aware of the 30 days and the 1000 pictures, so I lost quite a lot of pictures... is there any possibilities to find them again? I have only used iphone and ipad.
Not through iCloud, but are they still on your iPad or iPhone? Open Photos, then go to the Albums and see if they are still in the main Camera Roll rather than My Photo Stream. If they are in there, it would be a good idea to sync the devices to a computer so you can store the photos.

I have just switched on my new 5s and gone through the intro sections. After entering my apple id, I selected the icloud update I wanted it to use (from my 4s). It is now stuck on the progress bar screen and has been for hours. Can I get it back to the original settings? I want to set it up as a new phone, until I can get on to a better wi-fi signal. Any help would be great.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Hi, I noticed that some of my refs didn't have the correct initials for some authors. However, if I add or edit them for the citation in EndnoteX3, the Pages bibliography wasn't updated with the new info. Not even when I close both programs and re-op
