    Please help me. My ipad is disabled after entering wrong password. i actually forgot my password and in the course of trying for several times, it became disabled. Please how can i enable and unlock it. I tried connecting to iTunnes on my laptop but the iTunnes could not connect, saying the ipad is locked.
    Please how can i get the ipad back to use.
    Thanks

    I've never set a passcode on my devices. I already have enough of them between work and my mail accounts, FacBook, yahoo, etc. If i ever do and I have a problem, I'll remember that this information is out here...

  • How to enable my ipad air coz of wrong password and Findmy ipad air is on

    How to enable my ipad air because of wrong password and i cannot recover or restore my device coz Find my ipad setting in my device is on. Itunes said this must be off before anything, but i cannot turn it off in setting because device is disable. Help me

    Try DFU mode:
    Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
    Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
           other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
           until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                    Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                    release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
           device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
           let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
           charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
           When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
    If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
    If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
    Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

    what to do when i pad is locked due to wrong password entry by kids

    You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.

    You may need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school enviroment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • HT1695 when conecting wifi i put wrong password how to reset and enter password again
    I purchase new Ipad3 while configuring I pur wrong password for wifi, how to reset and re enter password
    If I recall correctly, I think you have to restart the iPad in order to start all over again. There is no way to backtrack - from what I can remember.
    If you can't backtrack, and restarting the iPad doesn't work, you can always activate the iPad using iTunes on your computer.
  • Ipad Disabled, I know my password, never sync'd it to itunes, wont connect to itunes...
    Title technically explains everything but here is the story....
    Some idiot at work tried to guess my password on my iPad; he tried enough times that it disabled it.
    I have never sync'd my iPad to iTunes.
    I DO know my password.
    I installed iTunes on my computer for the first time and now my iTunes wont recognize my iPad.
    Keeps claiming that I need to enter the password to unlock it....
    Little hard to enter the password to unlock it when it does not give me the option to enter a password to unlock it.
    Please tell me that in 24 hours it will allow me to enter my password and unlock itself.....
    Or there is someway to bypass the disable to unlock this machine....
    Please do not tell me Apple wasted millions of dollars reinventing the same device for the last ten years and put a simple task involving recovery issues without complete factory restore on the back burner....
    In before....
    You are going to have factory restore it....
    You should have sync'd it to an computer via iTunes
    You should have purchased a tablet from a reputable company.....
    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
  • IPad disabled we know the password
    Our three year old got her hands on our iPad.  It would have been locked when she got her hands on it.  Now it is reading "iPad is Disabled".  We know what the password should be.  It is hard to believe that she could have changed it.  Every time we enter the correct password it increases the time in "try again in xx minutes".  When I follow the procedure for "Recovery Mode", I get the following message from iTunes:
    "iTunes could not connect to the iPad "iPad" becuase it is locked with a passcode.  You must enter your passscode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes"
    What are our options?
    I manged to get a little further.  In the steps Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support under recovery mode, I tried steps 1-4 several more times and finally got iTunes to connect.  It updated the OS, which I thought would be a good start.  Then iTunes complained with a mysterious error message (sorry I did not capture it).  Then I typed in the password again to face another 60 minutes lockout.  Now, holding down the Sleep/Wake button does not produce the power off slider, so I think I am completely hosed.
