Ipod touch is not showing up as a device in itunes, how can I sync it?
Hi just wondering how to sync my ipod touch using itunes - when the ipod will not show up as a device. I am having trouble with the ipod as it is displaying the incorrect date, will not access my email etc. However when I go to sync it (thinking this would help) it does not even show upin itunes. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

My iPod classic is connecting to computers but then isn't showing up as a device in iTunes. Have restored iPod and tried various computers but nothing happens. What do I need to do?
To be of any assistance, I need the following info
Which version of itUnes are you using?
What is your iPod software version, as shown in the Itunes summary page? 1.1.2 or 2.0.4
Are you running Mac or Windows?
Have you tried the Hard Reset?
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

I have tried restarting my computer and my iphone but this didn't help. My phone is connecting to the computer and it is showing up in my computer but it will not show up in itunes. I'm not sure what else to do. Please help.
Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver Software.
Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver. -
IPhone 5 does not show up as a device in iTunes
My new iPhone was showing up in iTunes but in the last few days it is no longer show up in devices. It does show up in Computer (running Vista) as a device attached via USB. I've used the troubleshooting information provided by Apple but it is still not being recognized. The auto play feature starts when connected almost as if it is being recognized as a camera but it never shows up in iTunes. I've run the iTunes diagnostic and it says no device is connected. This is very frustrating so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
When you say you have used troubleshooting provided by Apple, have you tried to remove and reinstall iTunes? Do so by following this support document to the letter http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923. Then connect the phone, it should be recognized by Windows, install the necessary drivers and work. The phone will only activate auto play when there are pictures in the camera roll, that is why it appears like a digital camera.

Right now, only iTunes sees my iPhone connnected to it. iPhoto doesn't see it, and neither does Image Capture or Xcode. I can sync with iTunes just fine, but I can't get transfer photos from my phone to my MacMini.
I have an iPhone 4 (not 4S) that I recently upgraded to IOS 5. My MacMini is running Lion (10.7.2) & was just purchased last month.Just checked it. The settings in iPhoto are for "Connecting camera opens: iPhoto"
When I connect the phone, iPhoto will launch, but the iPhone will not show up under devices.

My Iphone 5 is not showing up in my devices on Itunes and there is no option to sync.
My Iphone 5 does not show up in devices when I plug into my computer. No devices show up. I was getting a small box that showed the Iphone and wanted me to open it to view the files, which basically shows how much space is left. I tried draggin a playlist into this and it has a circle with a line in it and doesn't work. I expected to plug in and have it sync but no sync message appears and the phone is not being recognized in itunes. I have already confirmed that I have apple mobile support.

Windows 8 and itunes problem (iphone not showing up as a device)
My new PC laptop has Windows 8 and in itunes my iphone doesn't show up as a device when I connect it to the laptop. I've tried all the fixes mentioned.
Try one or more of the following:
- Restart your computer
- Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
- Reset iPhone (will NOT delete everything) [Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset All Settings]
- Go to My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if it shows (should show as a digital camera)
- Restore iPhone (will DELETE everything) [Settings>>General>>Reset>>Erase All Content & Settings]
- Make sure iTunes & iOS Firmware is up to date.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows -
My IPhone doesn't turn on and keeps in the "plug-into-Tunes-screen" after update to new IOs 5.0 yesterday. I also tried to restore it, but it still keeps in the plugin mode. In ITunes the IPhone doesn't show up as a device anymore, but Windows 7 detects it as a camera. I started the problem diagnose via ITunes and it says "iPhone can't be found".I'm using the new version of iTunes.
Can anyone help me?I have the exact same problem and have just logged on here to see if anyone can help also? My iphone is up and working but itunes won't recognise it as a device... just updated itunes aswell.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!!
