my iphone calendar won't sync with the calendar on my computer. problem is the phone is set to sync over icloud but computer OS 10.6.8 doesn't work with icloud. how do i change phone settings so it will link via itunes on computer?

Yes, with the exception of itunes purchased music. You can click File>Transfer Purchases in itunes with iphone attached.
You should always back up your music/pics/docs/etc.

This is incorrect. You can move the music from your old computer to the new one, via your back up, DVD, external drive, etc. If it is itunes purchased, then you can transfer to your computer from your iphone.
Again, you should really have a back up copy of all of this data.

If you have at least one unique contact and calendar entry in your new computer, you should get the option to merge the data when you sync your iphone.

As this is my first post, I apologise if this has been dealt with elsewhere.
I have a new computer with office 2007 installed, and of course itunes. I have my trusty 3G iphone, and it syncs all my contacts / calender / etc, but I cannot drag any music to an from the iphone. I had it synced with my old computer, and the question I need to ask is do I need to de-authorise that one before syncing with my new one again. Also the new computer does not want to sync my apps, and every time I try to it will delete them.
My ipod works on both computers as I am in the process of moving my music to my new computer.

When I connect my Iphone to the computer Ai have to sync automatically my outlook calendar. Never had any issues except with the latest download that tell is doing some sync over the air with ICloud and that I can go to my Iphone and change that. Sorry iphones are meant to be sync to one iTunes media library.
You could copy your music and put it on your work computer and then sync it.
If you try to sync to one and then sync to other its going to wipe the phone and remove the old sync with the new sync.

I'm having problems with syncing my iphone 4s calendar with google calendar. google calendar will sync with phone but phone calendar won't sync with google calendar.

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.

If you don't do this per the instructions included with the link, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync. If you haven't transferred photos from your old computer to your new, any photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your previous computer will be erased when selecting to transfer any photos from your new computer.
Not sure how cancelling a sync with iTunes and importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll with iPhoto could have an effect on your GPS reception and location services.

I've done all of these things, and nothing is working. I understand how the cloud is supposed to work, and I understand how to sync via itunes. For some reason, the calendar is the only thing that isn't syncing.
I have support on the phone now. We've figured out that if I make a calendar entry on icloud from my PC, it follows through on my phone and ipad. Same if I make the entry on my iphone - it follows to icloud on my PC and ipad. But when I make the entry on the ipad, it doesn't follow through to my iphone or icloud on my PC.
I've had a tech walking me through all of this for about a half hour now. Can't figure it out. He's checking with his senior tech, has me on hold right now. It's looking like I may have to make a trip to my nearest Apple store, 45 minutes away.

I have temporarily solved the sync problem by using an older MBAir running snow leopard, I exported
both calendar and contacts and imported them in the MBA and synced normally.
Since I'm not about to send my data on the cloud, or setup a server to just sync my iphone,
I think this is a good workaround ! BTW I stopped updating my contacts and calendar on the MB, I only
update the iphone until a permanent solution is found !
And they better come up with one soon, because I'll just switch to an Android phone and Ubuntu linux for my MBP, Apple should make our lives easier, not harder !
I'm sure Samsung is having a ball ever since the sync issue was made public !
Hopefully Apple is listening and will make things right again !

IPhone will no longer sync with Google calendar

3 days ago my IPhone 4 stopped syncing with Google Calendar. I'm not aware of making any changes. I've done homework & and followed these steps:
-- Synced with ITunes: not syncing with ICloud; not syncing calendar
-- redone the Google Mobile setup procedure for my IPhone
-- limited my IPhone Calendar choices to only Google, i.e nothing checked for "All on my IPhone"
-- Set the time zone to Houston
Nothing doing. There are other folks with this problem, but 1 or more of the above worked for them...
Any ideas? I sure appreciate any help.

After installing iPhone 3.0 and iTunes 8.2 several weeks ago, my Outlook calendar sync stopped working. I have tried every hint or trick I could find to no avail. No, just uninstall the MobileMe control panel. All Mobileme services have been discontinued, so the control panel is not doing you any good being in there at present.

I have a new laptop and copied my entire iTunes from the old computer to my new laptop, so I have exactly the same iTunes on my new laptop. My iPhone syncs with the old computer, but because I have a new laptop I want to sync it with the iTunes in my new laptop. but when I connect my iPhone to the laptop, it just doesn't show my iPhone anywhere or reacts on it at all. It's just like nothing happens when I connect it to the laptop. How can I make it sync with the new laptop?

You can create a fresh backup on your computer: Disable auto-sync when an ipod/iPhone is connected under preferences>devices in iTunes(under the edit menu if using Windows). Connect your phone, right-click the phone in the left device pane and select "Backup". Before doing so, make sure your computer is authorized: Store>Authorize this Computer.

IPhone 3G not Syncing with Outlook Calendar 2007

Can anyone help, since updating iTunes to version 8.1.0.52 my iPhone will not sync with Outlook Calendar 2007. I have deleted itunes and re-installed as per Apples instructions and this has no effect. Everything was fine up to the point of updating iTunes. iPhone syncs with everything else just fine.

I am having the same problem since last update. I thought it was my wife's sync with a Nokia but after deleting that sync it still is not happening and trying to sync the calendar events for hours. Would love for iTunes to fix the problem.
Does anyone know if you can download an old version of iTunes? Regards Lee
