HT1386 moving songs from an iphone to a computer

need help moving songs from an iphone to my computer

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use it to put everything back.

  • How do you sync songs from your iPhone to you computer?

PLEASE HELP!! I just got my new Macbook Pro but i can't sync all of my songs from my iphone to my Macbook!!! I am begging you all to please help me!!

    Hey there,
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead.
It would also be a good idea to remember to make sure to authorize your new computer in iTunes.

How do I move songs from my ipod onto my computer?

If they are purchased from iTunes connect the iPod and select File > Transfer Purchases.
If they are not and you have a Windows computer get the application Yamipod.

  • HT1386 My songs from my iPhone arent syncing to my library. How do I fix that?

I went on to my iTunes library and saw all my songs werent there. I dont know what happened to them but they are still on my iPhone. I tried syncing my iPhone to iTunes but the music wouldnt transfer. How do I put the songs back onto iTunes from my iPhone?

You can't unless its all purchased music. this sounds like an issue with your computer.
I suggest having a tech look at that.

  • Moving songs from my ipod to my computer (itunes)

    Help!
I am trying to get all my songs from my ipod to my itunes. The songs currently on my ipod are from different sources from my old computer that got a virus and died. Now, (with the exception of a few new songs on my new computer) I cannot get all my songs into itunes and they will only show up when I have my ipod plugged in. When I simply try to drag the songs from my ipod to my itunes library, it will not let me.
    What do I do??????

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod, the transfer of purchased content has recently been introduced with iTunes 7. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

For more on the new function in iTunes 7 look under under File>"Transfer Purchases from iPod" which transfers iTMS purchases. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer

  • Songs from my iphone to my computer

I bought an album on my iphone and I would like to put those songs on my computer, but it will not let me add them to my music in itunes. I tried to download those same songs directly onto my computer but it was trying to charge me for them again. Is there anyway to get them permanently on my computer without buying them again?

For the most part, I give a Windows user the benefit of the doubt when something is described as not being user friendly since every Windows user is an expert in this regard, but if you describe iTunes as not being user friendly, wow, just wow. And what on earth does not being able to sync an iPhone with an iTunes library on multiple computers have to do with you having trouble transferring your music from one computer to another? If you had trouble with such a simple data transfer from one computer to another, your entire rant has nothing to with iTunes not being user friendly, even though every Windows sufferer is an expert on the subject.

  • Moving movies from old iphone to new computer

My old pc has died and I havew purchased new one and in process of synching my iphone up to it.
My iphone has about 25 home movies on it (not taken with iphone) that were synched up to old computer that I no longer have access to.
These movies appear in itunes in under films when i explore iphone - how do i get these movies copied on to my new computer as there does not seem to be a copy option?
I have music in itunes on new computer and have transferred purchases/apps etc and contacts backed up but worried that i will lose these movies if i proceed to sync...
    Help would be much appreciated....

With a Mac, you'd connect the iPhone to the Mac using the USB cable and then launch iPhoto or whatever other photo/movie application you like, and then import the videos from the phone. You should be able to do the same with your PC; use whatever video importer you like, it should treat the iPhone like any other camera.
You can also use this iOS app, but it will only work pictures and with fairly short videos.

  • Hi,i hav a new laptop nd my songs on iphone is not stored in this computer, how can i store this songs from my iphone to my computer using itunes?? i hav tried other third party softwares but to use them i need to pay....pls help if possible.

I am using itunes 10.4.1.10 version nd my iphone 4 is on 4.3.5....if anyone can help me would be very greatfull.
    Thank you.

If you are not interested in purchasing any software, then your only other choice would be to take your iTunes backup that you made of your iTunes library and copy that over to the new computer. If you do not have that, then it could be difficult. However, if all of the content was purchased through iTunes, then after authorizing the computer with the Apple ID the songs were purchased on, you can transfer the purchases to the new computer.

    Hey renie1515,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario
