  • Apps purchased on iPhone not showing up in iTunes

I've bought a fair number of apps through the App Store, including some reasonably expensive ones. I've also had severe problems backing up my iPhone, and eventually had to restore it from scratch so that I could update with the latest OS. Unfortunately, none of the apps which I bought on the App Store have shown up in iTunes, and thus I can't reload them. How do I go about restoring these apps without buying them?

That's not done automatically. Use the Transfer Purchases command in iTunes or see below.

Redownload them from the iTunes Store account you used to purchase them. It's free for applications.

  • Iphone not showing up in itunes & not connecting to computer

    Rite...
When i plug my iphone into my computer (WinXP, SP2) via the dock and straight from the USB cable, it does not show up in iTunes, Windows does not recognise it as a USB device and the camera pop doesnt show up. Basically Windows isn't recognising it at all.
    I've tried:
    restarting my computer.
    reinstalling itunes.
creating a new account on my pc, installing itunes and seeing if it connects; it did and worked fine, i logged out and and back onto my own profile, my iphone showed up and synched fine. I then restarted and the same problem occurred.
I've tried it in all my USB ports, and none want to read it. I have also tried other USB devices, which also don't want to be recognised. This wasn't the case a couple of days ago.
Also my iphone docked and synched fine after the upgrade both to itunes and the iphone.
Anyone else having this problem? I think it's a general USB problem with my PC, anyone have any ideas.
    Argh it's annoying!!

    I tried this:
"The problem seems to be that the install process treats everything PC like a Vista machine. If you go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE you'll find an oddly named directory inside it like usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B.
    Go into it. You'll find USBAAPL.CAT, usbaapl.inf and usbaapl.sys.
What I did was right click on the .inf file and pick install (don't know for sure if it needed that, but I'm not going to omit any steps just in case).
Open up C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and copy the usbaapl.sys file there.
Open up C:\WINDOWS\inf and copy usbaapl.inf there.
Again I right clicked on the .inf file copy in the C:\WINDOWS\inf directory and hit install. It then created the corresponding usbaapl.PNF in that directory.
I unplugged the pod from the usb port, rebooted the system, plugged the pod in again and voila, there it was. It found it and installed correctly"
    Which didn't work.
    - My iphone appears in the Services under 'Apple Mobile Device Service'
    - I can't verify the iphones driver because nothing is showing up in device drivers/managment
    -I have USB 2.0

  • Iphone not showing up in itunes

I have just installed windows 8 developer preview on my system but now my iPHONE 4 is not showing up in itunes , It works in b/w sometime,, ny idea ?

iTunes 10.5 does not support Windows 8.
NEVER be surprsed when existing apps don't work in a new beta OS version.  If you grasp the concetp of beta testing, the "Developers Preview" is meant for testing and development only, not routine or mission critical use.

  • Iphone not showing up in Itunes or Iphoto

Hi I recently performed an erase and install of Snow leopard on my Mac. I then used migration assistant to restore my data. I notice that when I plug my Iphone into my Mac Pro, it does not show up in Itunes or Iphoto. How can I get it to show up again? Thanks

  • IPhone not showing up in iTunes 8.2.1

I downloaded the new version of iTunes 8.2.1, and now my iPhone 3G is not showing up in iTunes.
Please help. is there anyway I can fix this problem? Can I download an old version of iTunes on Apple's website? Or is there another website someone can recommend?
    Thanks.

That seems to have done the trick. I had restarted the computer after the update, obviously, but hadn't done so after restarting the iPod Touch. Thanks!

  • Iphone not showing up in itunes but it is showing up as a device on my computer

Before when I plugged my iphone 4S into my computer it said it had a problem with the device's hardware and wouldn't show up in my itunes. Now it has gone away after I updated my computer and it is still not showing up in my itunes. I have looked at the Device tab and Music tab. It is not showing up. Oddly it will not charge either. Is there something that I need to update with my phone? I did the third party check from itunes and it did not work.

I describe how you fix it here

  • How to add only selected music to my iPhone not sync the whole iTunes library

    Hi everyone,
I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4. I have some music on my iPhone, and quite a bit on iTunes on the MacBook. I want to transfer selected tracks from the MacBook, but when I click on 'Rushenette's iPhone' and select 'Music', I have the option to Sync but get a message saying everything on my iPhone will be overwritten with the contents of my iTunes library.
How do I keep the iPhone contents the same, but add a few tracks from the MacBook?
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks ckuan,
But... I bought the tracks on the phone via iTunes, then later transferred purchases back to the MacBook. All my music is in iTunes already. The MacBook has the complete set, the phone has a subset.
Now I have some more stuff on the MacBook (in ITunes) that I want to put on the phone, but I don't want to fill my phone with the entire music library, just add a few tracks.

  • Why does my iPhone not show up in iTunes on a mac that has a shared internet connection from another mac?

I have what I would consider a difficult question. I called Apple Care and after she spoke to a senior advisor, the representative ended up saying it wasn't possible.
Having said that, I'm sure this is not a difficult question for people with networking expertise.
    Setup
So...I have a MacBook receiving a WiFi signal via AirPort.
In System Preferences, I have turned on Internet sharing (share airport over Ethernet).
I connected the Ethernet port on my MacBook to the Ethernet port on my MDD PowerMac G4.
At this point, I can successfully browse the web, perform software updates, and view other computers and iTunes libraries on my network from my G4.
    Goal
However, in iTunes on my G4 I would like to use iTunes DJ.
    Tried
    So...I click on iTunes DJ.
I set the settings (button in bottom right) to allow guest remotes, etc.
I turned on iTunes Home Sharing (logged into the same account as by iPhone).
    Problem
However, from the Remote app on my iPhone, I am unable to see the library on my G4.
Also, if I want to pair my iPhone Remote app with iTunes on my G4, I click add Library in the Remote app, but iTunes on the G4 never displays my iPhone in the left column (although I am able to see all other iTunes libraries being shared on the network).
Thus, I cannot connect to iTunes as a guest Remote, nor can I connect as paired remote.
I have successfully done both of these things with computers connected directly to my modem, as well as with computers connected via WiFi.
The problem is connecting devices to computers that get their internet connection though another computer via internet sharing.
    Question
So my question is about Internet sharing itself. Is it not a fully featured ad-hoc network? Does it only provide browsing capabilities and the ability to browse networked computers, but NOT devices such as an iPhone? I don't see the difference; my iPhone is on the same network as the computers, so why is there no communication between it and computers that gain their Internet connection through another computer?
I really hope someone out there who is an expert in networking can help me out with this. Or if it truly is impossible, if someone could explain to me why that is the case, I would also appreciate it.
ps. I usually have my MacBook sharing its Internet connection through an old router that I am using as a switch because I share the connection with three other computers. And if it isn't obvious, the modem is downstairs, and the MacBook, old router being used as a switch, and other computers are upstairs where there is no Ethernet wired.
Thank you in advance for any help.

  • IPhone not showing up in iTunes or shows up as "imaging device" - Win XP

SOOO glad I waited in line for several hours today!!!
Anyone having issues with getting the iPhone to show up on a Win XP Pro machine??? I have tried to get the iphone working on two separate laptops, one a Dell M70 and the other a Dell M60, both Win XP Pro SP2.
I've gone thru all the self help steps, including re-installing iTunes. I downloaded it today.
On the M70... the device is recognized by Windows, but the computer treats it as an "imaging device" and iTunes does not find it.
On the M60... the device isn't even found. when I plug it in, I get a weird quick double beep sound, as opposed to the normal sound when plugging in a device to the USB port. About 30 seconds later, it makes the disconnect sound. All the while without disconnecting.
I'm thinking this sounds like a lovely trip back to the Apple store tomorrow. Oh joy.
Dell Precision M60 and M70   Windows XP Pro   XP Pro SP2

I saw this too - but closing iTunes and re-plugging the phone seemed to work for me. I seem to have the best luck when I plug in the phone with iTunes not running and allow it to open after the iPhone is connected...
    Good Luck!
