HT1386 my iphone 3gs will not install updates can anyone help?
My iphone 3Gs has stopped installing updates. it makes no difference whether it is connected to itunes with my usb connection or otherwise. Can anyone help me?

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -

If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

I have recently updated my iphone 3gs with the new ios5 software.
All my music was wiped off of my phone, my photo's, contacts etc where still available.
I tried to re-sync my music via itunes with no success, it kept saying revert or apply (but apply was not highlighted so i was unable to click this)
i got so fed up i restored my phone.....now i have lost everything!! and it still won't allow me to sync, keeps saying revert, and even when i click revert it does nothing!!
Can anyone help???

FrankieThanks for the assist, Diesel... I've had a chance to try to get this thing working again, and DFU mode gives me the same unknown error 1. I tried to reinstall itunes, and get the same error... Any more suggestions?

Do you have one of the versions that are shown here with the forbidden symbol over them:
If so you'll need to upgrade iPhoto to 9.5.1 from the App Store. It'll be a free upgrade.

You can give this a shot to correct the permissions on your computer. I know you have Windows 8, the Windows 7 will still get you in the right place.

Check your Window menu -> Activity menu to see if anything is really not happening. If it isn't happening, check your settings.

Hi can anyone help, my iPad will not download aps ?
Just keeps saying unknown error ?I have tried signing out and back in again, no joy. I have also reset the iPad as suggested. Desktop and 2netbooks are working fine on the wireless connection. Apps won't download, initially I was able to disconnect from wifi and reconnect and that would solve it but not anymore.
I am also getting an error message intermittently advising no Internet connection. This is all since the upgrade to 5.1.1 so it has messed with something.
From a google search looks like I am not alone either. -

Have you tried a RESET ??
Hold down the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.
It will reset and restart itself in a few minutes.

just completed the upgrade to os x Yosemite on my MacBook 5,4 only to find that iPhoto will not open. It came up with a message that I go to the app store and upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto , however the App Store also refuses to open. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you

I have the same problem after installing yosemite. When I want to update it give the following message..
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
Should I contact apple directly?
