HT1386 New Contacts I have put in my Iphone are not syncing back to my PC.
My Itunes crashed on the weekend, it vertually wiped itself clean and prompted me (with a license agreement) to reinstall. since then, information on my IPhone (Contacts) will not sync back to the PC. Its only one way now - PC to Iphone, it used to be both ways.
As I had to set up my iTunes again entirely I'm sure there is a confiuration I can set to do this but I cant find it.

Did you try to reset the sync history in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices?

Some contacts on my iPhone are not syncing to iCloud
Most of my contacts sync from my iPhone 4 to iCloud but there are some that do not. I check iCloud.com and cannot find them but yet on my phone the contacts appear on the iCloud section of my "Contacts".
Have searched the forum and cannot find anything that might help me.
Some contacts I find that do not sync have custom labels - but other contacts do have custom labels and sync without any issues.
Stuck as some of the people that don't sync are people I contact often!
Thanks for any help given.YAY! So I figured out a simple way to do this. I'll try to keep the steps simple.
1. I went to icloud.com and into my calendar.
2. I created a new calendar for each of my calendars. (for instance, I have family, friends, business, etc.)
3. I then went to the iMac ICal and exported each of my calendars (those which i just created a new calendar for on icloud) under "on my mac".
4. I then imported them into those new folders on the Mac into the "Icloud" calendars I created moments ago. Be sure when you import you SELECT that calendar.
5. Once that is all done you can delete the calendars "on your mac" so there aren't duplicates.
6. NOW all your events should sync. Apparently Icloud doesn't sync calendars "on the mac" only in the "icloud", which is obviously different from what mobile me did. -
My custom ringtones don't show up in my iTunes library (only on my iPhone library) so I'm afraid that if I sync to the new computer I'll lose my tones. I've tried backing up on my computer, but then I can't find that information to bring into iTunes. I've tried backing up to the Cloud, but it requires me purchasing more space (which I don't want to do). I've already turned off most of my apps, but I'm still over the limit.

Having a similar problem. I added a calendar event only to discover it hadn't synched via iCloud to my iPhone and thus did not get an alert I needed.

New/Updated contacts on iPhone 4 not syncing to iMac Address Book

My problem:
When syncing my iPhone 4 with iTunes 10, iTunes will sync contacts FROM my iMac to the iPhone. It will not sync new or changed contacts from the iPhone TO my iMac (no two-way syncing).
Further background:
I recently had Apple replace my hard drive and restored from a Time Machine backup. Everything is working properly except this.
What I'm using:
* iPhone 4 w/ iOS 4.1 (latest)
* iMac 2.4 GHz Intel running OS X 10.5.8
* iTunes 10.1 (54)
Example:
If I create a new contact on my iMac, it syncs with the iPhone as expected.
On the iPhone, If I edit the contact originally created on the iMac and re-sync, the changes do NOT sync back to my iMac.
If I create a new contact on my iPhone, it does not sync with Address Book.
What I've tried so far that has not worked:
1.) Unchecked and re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts" in iTunes (one-way syncing works fine)
2.) Used the "Replace information on this iPhone" for Contacts within iTunes (contacts from iMac overwrite iPhone as expected)
3.) I had a trial MobileMe subscription that I cancelled months ago.
Went into the iPhone > Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > deleted the MobileMe account, keeping existing data on my iPhone.
4.) Unchecked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Went to /users/[username]/Library/Application Support/AddressBook, deleted AddressBook-v22.abcddb and /Images
* Went to iSync app > Preferences > Reset Sync History
* Verified new addressbook and /Images folder were created
* Re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Performed another sync using iTunes
(One-way sync works fine)
5.) Deleted all Address Book entries
* Unchecked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Went to /users/[username]/Library/Application Support/AddressBook, deleted AddressBook-v22.abcddb and /Images
* Went to iSync app > Preferences > Reset Sync History
* Verified new addressbook and /Images folder were created
* Re-checked "Sync Address Book Contacts"
* Performed another sync using iTunes
Can anyone offer some suggestions? I have my address book backed up, but I'd really like to be able to perform a two-way sync from my iPhone to my iMac's Address Book.

RobNo need for apologies! Yes, it was checked. Looks like I have solved the problem now and it was something very basic - in the preferences of Contacts on the iMac. Looks like it's all synced now. Thanks for replying!

my iphone does not sync with itunes on my second authorized computer, please help. i changed the first authorized computer in May 2012 and have been using the second authorized computer since then but it cannot sync - please help!!

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data. -
the podcasts that I have subscribed to via itunes have stopped downloading/syncing. I see new podcasts on the podcasts website but they are not listed on my list of itunes podcasts, nor do they show up when I sync to an iPod. any ideas, thanks joanlvh

I have purchased a new computer and authorized my iTunes with my Apple ID; however, my iPod Classic, which I have had for many years, will not sync hundreds of songs that I have purchased and says the device needs to be authorized.

I am being prompted for the questions for my apple ID. I have put what I think are the answers and it is still not letting me purchase games from my account. I try to send the answers to my e-mail and I am not getting them. I had account issues about a year ago where my id was spelled wrong. Could this be associated with that?

I have been having issues with Siri taking over my phone and locking me out of accessing it. Temporarily I have fixed it by syncing it with iTunes, but I need to transfer the contacts I have store on the iPhone to either the SIM card installed or my laptop. I cannot find out how to do either, only imformation on how to import contacts onto the phone...

Are you sure you don't have VoiceOver turned on? With VoiceOver on a voice speaks the names of items that you touch on the screen, and you have to use different gestures to get around. This may make it feel like you're "locked out" of your phone.
To turn VoiceOver off you have to go to Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Off. With VoiceOver on you have to flick the screen with three fingers to scroll, and to activate an item on the screen you have to tap an item once to select it, then double-tap it to activate it. You can also turn it off by connecting your phone to iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings, Click Configure Universal Access (under Options), then under Seeing select Neither. -
New contacts are syncing between Outlook and iPhone but existing contacts on iPhone are not showing up in Outlook. How do I get them to sync and into Outlook?

My 3G unlocked iPhone is not syncing mail or contacts from my mac book pro, using Lion. I am able to get a calendars and music, only. I get the message that I need to reset the password which I have done 3x's on the phone and on the Apple server.
Good to know that, but what can I do to get the mail and contacts downloaded from Icloud onto my Iphone? I am told that the password needs to be reset and I have erased and reset it 3x's already? Should I Restore All Settings or Restore Network Settings or will that result in a situation where I have to have it re-unlocked again? GRACIAS!
