HT1386 not enough access privileges to sync i pad to i tunes ?

not enough access privileges to sync i pad to i tunes ?

I am having the same problem. I had been able to sync with no problem but I changed some of the System Preferences for syncing two computers with Mobile Me. Now I can only sync the iPod Touch if I use the advance features in the Info panel to replace all of the items on iPod Touch. That works the next time I sync but I get the subject message when I try to sync again.

  • Am trying to sync my ipod nano 7th gen. i get this message: not enough access privileges."

i am trying to sync my ipod nano 7th gen with my music on the cloud, via a desktop PC.
I have successfully done this in the past.
now I am getting a series of messages: "not enough access privileges"
have reset the nano and also downloaded latest iTunes software.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I'm having a very similar problem, so I was excited to see the link above. But when I click on it, it redirects me to the nike.com main website (I'm assuming Nike redid their website since the above link was posted). Could you please point me to that article somewhere else or tell me how you fixed your problem?
My exact problem is this: I was running until recently with my iPod Nano 6th gen and the Nike+ sensor kit (sensor that goes in the Nike+ shoe plus receiver that goes in the iPod Nano). When I would sync my Nano with iTunes (I would have the "Automatically send workout data to nikeplus.com" option checked), all was well with this set-up as far as syncing my stuff to the Nike+ website goes.
I recently realized that for the iPod Nano 6th generation, the sensor/receiver combo is not required anymore. So I ran two runs without the receiver. I kept the sensor in the shoe though as nowadays I mostly run with my recently purchased Nike+ Sport GPS watch and I like to have the sensor in the shoe in case the GPS signal gets lost at some point during a run. Anyway, those two runs that I ran without the receiver won't sync to my nikeplus account. I can see them in my iPod Nano's history and I can see one of them (the latest one) on the Nike + iPod tab of iTunes when I sync my Nano. The difference though is that on iTunes this latest run appears under a "Sensor 1" selection, whereas all my previous runs with both the sensor and receiver would be under "Nike + Sensor" selection. Within the "Nike + Sensor" selection, under nikeplus.com, there's the "Automatically send workout data to nikeplus.com" option and below it a Login ID that shows my Nike+ website log-in info. Within the "Sensor 1" selection, the Login ID is missing. I've tried renaming "Sensor 1" to something else but it didn't make the Login ID appear.
Thank you for reading this and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Best,
    Dimitris.

  • After Mountain Lion I get: don't have enough access privileges to sync iPad

Hi. After installing Mountain Lion, I'm getting the message:"you don't have enough access privileges to sync iPad" (both iPad and iPhone). I've chequed the permissions on the Music folder and made sure there read & write access all over and inside it. My conputer (MacPro late 2011) is authorized in the iTunes store and actually if make any purchase on either my iPad or iPhone, it gets downloaded. And everything was fine before moving to Mountain Lion (Lion version before). It is shocking, I really hope somebody could Hel me. Thank you

Some more detailed information: The backup is made on either iPad and iPhone. But nothing gets transfered between computer and device. Could it be related to plist inside devices?
    Somebody please !

  • I get message:can't save library file not enough access privileges.Don't understand what this means?

I get message:"Can't save library file.  Not enough access privileges" .Don't understand what this means. No visible effect that I can see now.

Classic example of why you should save your workm in progress...just hit Ctrl+s to do it on the fly.
Yes I know. But it is the first time I work with Photoshop on such a big project and I thought it would be more stable.. Do the newer versions manage the memory better ?
You can shrink your image down which will make it smaller enough to save
Not enough memory to resize the image. And in the manipulation, it would corrupt some of my layers..
you can try to save as a diffeent format
I could succesfully save in Bitmap format. But I lose all my layers info..
The making loads of screen shots would be good if it wasnt really an
option seeing as it would use even more memory to do that then put the
image together out of the screen shots.
I made screen shots without any problem. I saved them through MS Paint without any memory problem, while Photoshop in parallel was just used as a static image for snapping...

  • When downloading a digital copy get the message not enough access privileges?

Yes. The disk drive has too much data on it. You are either going to have to move some to other disk drives or delete some.

  • Cannot sync, error message reads" not enough access privileges for this operation

When trying to sync my ipad and iphone with my PC i get this error message "Cannot be sybced. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation". I have a new PC but i have successfully synced these devices before. can anybody please help ?

Just thought I'd put out an update on my problem. It has been solved. I spoke to a tech at Apple at 1-800-275-2279. She had me try a few things that didn't help. Her last suggestion was to uninstall QuickTime and iTunes then reload. She sent me the uninstall instructions at http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93698 which I followed. When speaking to her I told her I was afraid to do this because I saw other people on the discussion board who tried this and lost all of their music. She assured me that that wouldn't happen. I did the uninstall then the install. (Just a note here, I also read on the message board that someone said that to cure this problem you should do the install then open up QuickTime before opening iTunes. I did this also but don't really know if it made a difference.
Bottom line is I uninstalled QuickTime and itunes per the instructions at the site shown above. I then installed both again from www.apple.com/itunes/download. After the download I ran the install and unchecked the box to let itunes start after the install. I then opened Quicktime then closed it. I then opened iTunes and all of my music was there and I didn't get the anoying "iTunes is not set as the default player" and the error after trying to set it. The problem described in my first posting of copying CD's is also gone. So beleive it or not, EVERYTHING is working just like it should. Some of the above steps might not be required but I would follow them step by step because I know they worked for me.

  • Error Message iPhone cannot be synced, not enough access privileges

I have a dual boot WinXP Pro & Vista Ultimate laptop (ThinkPad X60) on separate HDDs. Have loaded iTunes 8.02 on both drives in both OS's. No problem synching my iPhone in iTunes in WinXP. However, in Vista, I can back up, but cannot synch, the iPhone (which is a 3G, acquired in August 2008, and it has Software 2.2). This message repeatedly appears: "The iPhone "[name of phone]" cannot be synced. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." Have used Windows Explorer, gone to the iTunes folder in \Users, and taken ownership of it and installed "full control," but that hasn't helped. Have reinstalled iTunes. That hasn't helped. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  • Music sync stops half way through "not enough access privilege to complete"

syncing entire music library. it stops halfway through and i get and error message "Attempting to copy to the disk image X Iphone failed. You do not have enough access privilege for this operation"
i close that window and there is another error "iTunes could not copy "X Song" to X iPhone because an unknown error has occurred. (-5000)
Any ideas on how to get this rig running as advertised? Thanks

    Try to Reset the iPad:
From the Home screen double tap the Home button to view the multitasking bar at the bottom. Tap and hold an app at the bottom till the icons wiggle with the minus button visible. Tap the button to close all apps then tap the Home button to get back to the Home page. Press and hold the Sleep button till you see the Slide to power off message and power it off. Once powered down completely press and hold the sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

  • Sync problem - not enough access privileges

I recently replaced a crashed computer and transferred music into Itunes using a 3rd party software (mediawidget). The music transferreed fine but itunes won't let me synch the ipod. It tells me i don't have enough access privileges. I've run the diagnostics and I have the text file saved. The only thing I can see in it is that I am not assigned administrator privileges. Is there a way to assign those privileges? I can also attach the word document if necessary. I have the latest version of itunes (8.0.2) running and have an ipod classic. Has anyone had this problem? Please help!

    Sorry. the version is 8.2.1.6

  • Not enough access permissions to sync

When I try to sync my iPad with iTunes, I get an error message that I cannot sync my iPad because I do not have enough access privileges to perform the operation.  How do I fix this?

    Hello there, gregg220.
The following Knowledge Base article provides steps for troubleshooting persmissions issues with iTunes:
Trouble adding music to iTunes library or importing audio CD
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1387
These messages occur if permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or on a folder inside your designated music folder. Permissions are settings that determine who can read, write to, or execute a file or folder on your computer. Every file and folder on your hard disk has an associated set of permissions.
Example: If permissions are correct on your Music folder, but incorrect on the U2 folder inside your Music folder, you would be able to add other music to your iTunes library, but not that new U2 album.
Look here for help in correcting the permissions on folders:
    OS X:

    Windows XP:

Note: Permissions and privileges for files are different from authorization to play a song purchased from the iTunes Store. Click here for information on authorizing a purchased song to play.

  • 5 Hours later 2ndgenipod alive, now not enough access privileges

For crying out loud! I spent five hours on July 3rd repairing the damages OS4 wreaked on my 2nd Gen iPod Touch. From zapping everything I had in my iPod to limping towards normalcy.
Now, the only thing I have left to resolve is the error message that says: "The operation could not be completed because you do no have enough access privileges." By the way, I'm the only one handling my iMacPPC to which I connect my iPod.
When synchronizing the iPod, iTunes insists on saying: Attempting to copy to the disk "j...."failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." I click Ok and it continues to sync, then another warning pops up saying : iTunes could not copy "Candy" to the iPod "j....." because of an unknown error occurred (-5000)."
The thing is that I don't have "Candy" anymore.
Well, it serves me right for having upgraded blindly, believing that almighty Apple doesn't make mistakes. I should have waited a few months.
It was hard enough to have lost 1/5 of my iMac's screen to the shakes -- but, hey, I was lucky, it could have been the whole screen; I can still use the rest of the screen.
Oh, yeah, I also have a Windows 7 Dell, which works like a charm. I still go back to my iMac, though, albeit only once in a while.
    Roxy

To tell you the truth, it was just persistence. I kept synchronizing it, over and over again until iTunes finally transferred all the songs. I don't think it missed any song that I had originally moved to iTunes, except an album, which includes the "Candy" mentioned below and which I deleted from the iMac.
So, I just kept syncing it, over and over and over.
To begin with it was a very slow download, which at first I thought my computer was having a seizure, but reading today the postings it seems to be too many people downloading at the same time.
Then I would get those messages mentioned in my posting about not having enough access privileges, but I did not click Ok and somehow iTunes continued to sync with the iPod. When it did stop dead on its tracks, I clicked Ok and started again.
Today I zapped Candy and its companion tracks and checked permissions for a couple of other songs that refused to load into iPod using Finder, Get Info and changed those that limited access to it and they loaded.
Yet, I still do not know what this access privileges thingy is.
    Thank you.
    Roxy

  • IPod 4th Gen iOS 4.3.3 wont update to iOS 5.1.1 (Not enough access privileges)

Today. I thought that i should update my iPod as my iPod was beginning to become obsolete.
So, i went to update, agreed to all of the agreements and stuff like that, and then a error message popped up.
It said, "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "<my iPod's name>'s iPod". You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
Why? It's my iPod?! I should have all of the privileges to it anyway!
Im running a Mid 2009 MacBook Pro on iTunes 10.6.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.3
    HELP!

What are you/the iPod doing during those hours?
    How many hours?
An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store may be in order.
