I just purchased a new iphone 4s and have a new user id etc. I have an ipod which I have owned for 3 or 4 years. What are the steps to sync the iphone with the ipod.

My problem is when I go to itunes my ipod has a different user id etc. than does my iphone. After I got my ipod I rarely used it after a while and I don't know how to put the two together. I know it can be done just missing something. Thanks

My husband is completely computer illiterate; however, he loves to listen to music on his iPod. He accidentally deleted some albums. He originally had four albums by one particular artist. There is only one left on his iPod Touch although when I go into iTunes, connect his iPod to my laptop and click on his iPod, I see the other three albums but not the one that is actually on the iPod. Know that sounds weird but I have been working on this for days now and am considering serious drink! All other albums seem to be on the iPod and working fine except for an album by another artist which has disappeared off both iTunes and his iPod.
I had not updated his iPod for a long time; and when I first connected it to the laptop to sync and get the albums back, it updated. I have synced several times and I have tried to manually add the albums, all to no avail. Can anyone help save my sanity? Thank you!

You can transfer from iTunes to the iPhone the same way you transfer from iTunes to the iPod.
I tried putting in blank CD's and put my iPod music on there then upload the music from the CD's to my library
How did you get the music onto a CD if it was not in your library?
yopu cannot burn from the iPod to a CD.

HT1386 Syncing problems with iPhone

Recently, with the new iTunes update, my playlists are not transferring to my iPhone and my ringtones have disappeared. I never had a problem with these in the past two years and I didn't change my settings, but my phone has different media than iTunes does. In iTunes, my iPhone shows me having my new playlists and my ringtones, but on my phone, these are not there. It appears that iTunes is updated, but my phone is using old media.

Hi! I wan´t the iphone to be the source of notes, calendars and so on. When I sync the iPhone now, it reinstalls older calendar versions from the computer, erases new notes on the iphone and so on. I can´t find how to let the iphone conduct the process.... HELP!!

agghhh.. As it turns out if i connect my drobo via firewire I cannot sync media to my iphone 3GS (contacts, cal, etc sync fine). Switch the drobo to a USB connection however and all is well!

     Watch this iPod video, it's the same for iPhone.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

IOS 7.1.2 sync issue with iPhone 5 iTunes 11.2.2.3 windows 7

Unable to sync content with iPhone 5 after upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 running iTunes 11.2.2.3 on Windows 7. Photo albums are messed up initially, then re-sync a few times and ended up with iTunes summary tab status showing capacity usage as only "Other". All boxes under Option section are unchecked. Please help if anyone has the same problem and resolved.

To sync with iPhone's calendar (also called iCalendar) you need to use a cloud-based calendar. If you already have lightning, install the Google Provider addon and setup Google Calendar. If you have already done that, go to settings on your iPhone. In the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars area, add your Google account, and turn on Calendar. This will sync your Google Calendar with the iPhone.

On you iPhone, force close all the Apps in the multitask window.
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it one by one until all cleared
Now do a Soft reset of your iPhone:
Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release. After it returns to Home screen, connect to sync and see if this resolves the issue.

Mavericks syncs Calendar via iCloud.
Make sure you have the same iCloud account set up on your mac and your iPhone.
In System Preferences > iCloud, make sure the Calendars checkbox is checked.
In System Preferences > Internet Accounts, iCloud should be an account in the box on the left, and Calendars should be checked in the box on the right. If you have other calendars, for example, from work, make sure those are enabled too.

Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up on new computer, only songs which tansferred were songs bought on new computer after set up, tried to sync songs and it deleted old songs from ipod. How can I get them back on ipod?? They are showing in music library on itunes still.

If the iPod database gets corrupted, it will add files to "Other" instead of where they really belong.
Restoring the iPod will erase this database and recreate it.
And if I do this, won't I just have the same issue when my iPod is re-updated to the most recent version again?
No, it shouldn't. This is why you Restore the iPod. It erases the corrupt database.

iTunes doesn't sync iCal with iPhone after upgraded to Mountain Lion. I even tried to use Replace Information On This iPhone and it doesn't work. Any idea guys?

I'm having the same problem. It's as if my iPhone and MacBook Pro now have two separate calendars.
Basically, I have a MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion, 13", late 2011) that I sync via USB with an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1). Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, all of my iCal events would sync flawlessly. But none of the events I've created in iCal (Calendars) since upgrading have synced to the iPhone. Likewise, no new events that I create on the iPhone Calendar will sync to iCal. Also, changes to an existing event (even one created before upgrading to Mountain Lion) don't get synced either.
Everything else seems to be syncing just fine though (music, apps, contacts, etc).

Have a similar issue. Have iphone 4 running ios7. itunes 11.1.3.8. Probably is intermittent (once every 2 weeks?) and persistent. Syncs fine for days. Then all at once playlists are not updated. For example; over the holidays I added some holiday songs to a playlist. Today I removed the holiday songs from the playlist in itunes. Sync the phone. All messages indicate sync is successful. Songs still in playlist on the phone! Continues to happen over multiple syncs. In the past I have had some songs update but not all songs. This cycle of attempting syncing continues until other songs on the iphone 'disappear' (they are listed in playlists but don't play!). Don't know the cause but it is very annoying and unpredictable. Eventually taking all music off the iphone and then adding it back works but even this take multiple iterations. These issues seem to have started after upgrading to ios7. I have workarounds that are very timeconsuming. I'm interested in solutions to the root cause. Can anyone help?
