HT1386 Transferring apps to new iPhone

Sync iPhone 4 with computer with no problem. Purchased iPhone 4s and tried to sync with computer. Music , pics, and some apps sync with no problem but some apps did not. Are we doing something wrong?

Do this to wipe iPhone:
Wipe iPhone/iPad/iPod touch clean
There are a few steps to do:
Switch off iMessage in Settings > Messages
Switch off FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime (iPod touch 4th Generation or later, iPhone 4 or later and iPad 2 or later)
Delete iCloud in Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Finally Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

Now you can sell/give.

If you've download apps from the iTunes app store then you can only install them on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, you can't use them on a computer (PC or Mac)

Unable to sync apps on new iPhone 5

Brand new iPhone 5.
Old iPhone 3GS backed up with iTunes.
iTunes updated to 11.0.1.12 and backup restored to new iPhone. Music, messages etc all synced. Apps do not sync despite many attempts.
iTunes Apps page is checked for "Automatically sync new apps"
iPhone Settings > General > Restrictions not enabled.
iPhone is logged into App Store and so is iTunes.
iTunes has a strange phenomenon. When turned on and conneced to the phone, there are only four screens:
Now, if I begin to drag some apps from the left, this is what happens:
Notice the extra screens that appeared on the right They were created some time ago after the purchase by dragging every desired app.
Clicking Apply goes through the motions of a sync very quickly, but nothing is transferred to the iPhone 5.
The buttons on the bottom right change to say "Sync"
If I click "Sync", very briefly, the progress bar (or whatever it is called) shows the green Apps bar a little wider, but then it shrinks back to the slim green bar.
No app has synced and the phone still has three screens, not what iTunes shows.
Please advise.

Dfu means device firmware upgrade
Press and hold Power + Home buttons together (10sec)
Phone will go blank
Before Apple logo comes, release the Power n keep holding Home button
Until you see a pop in the PC that Apple device in recovery mode
At that point iTunes will pop asking to restore iphone
Click restore or
before u click restore just download the iOS 6.0.2 on say desktop
After that press and hold shift on ur keyboard then click restore
It will allow u to navigate and select the iOS firmware u just downloaded
That's it. When done, restore from your iphone backup, and syncing starts working

I bought my iphone 4S a week ago to replace my 3S
I plugged it into the PC but i can't seem able to find my previously bought apps and music
I'm no computer whizz abd really can't work this out.

HT1386 I have a new Iphone 5. Have downloaded 6.0.1 am in the process of syncing with itunes and it is taking hours to sync. I do backup to the cloud. I synced my iphone4s to computer prior to plugging iphone 5 so the latest data would be on system.

I have a new iphone 5. Trying to sync with itunes on my computer. Prior to plugging in new phone i made sure my other phone had synced with computer so all data was current. My old iphone does sync with cloud. When i plug in my iphone 5 for syncing it gets to step 5 and continues on for eternity...it has never completed syncing. This has been over a hour. Any ideas...ps old phone 4s backed up to cloud also and syncs would only take a minute or 2.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Follow the instructions here or here; using the first set of instructions then requires syncing the second device with the iTunes library containing the content.
If you mean that they’re not available in the iTunes Store as opposed to an iTunes library, you’ll need to use the first link.

Inability to restore apps to new iphone 5s from encrypted backup

Hi, thanks for any advice. I recently upgraded to iphone 5s following significant slowown of iphone 4 which until the ios 7 update was a perfectly usable device. I am now simply unable to fully restore a brand new iphone 5s from a full encrypted iphone 4 backup using itunes. I have followed to letter the instructions on apple's website.
The restore process runs through but only restores text messages, contacts and photos. None of the over 20 other apps are showing up on the new iphone 5s. Perhaps I am misreading what itunes can backup and restore. I would appretiate any suggestions. Thanks.

We recently bought a new iPhone 5S to replace an older iPhone 5 for one of our employees. He has a lot of business emails that he keeps on his phone for reference. Is there any way to transfer those old emails to the new phone? He is getting new business email on the new phone, but he does not have access to the older emails. They are on his laptop, but he would like them on his phone, too, if that is possible.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, the salesperson that was here at the office was not the brightest bulb in the pack, so I'm not sure what he had or had not done when I got downstairs. His contacts and apps synched, but the mail did not. I'm going to check his sync settings and see if that helps. (Per Axeman).
I'll keep posting results, if I get any. LOL

Not sure if this is the correct place to post but ...
Just got my new iPhone 6 and I can't seem to download anything from the app store. I'll press the icon to download, it will change to the circle image for a second, then it just stops. Is this an ios 8 issue/ iphone 6 problem? is the app store down? Anybody else experiencing the same issue?
