HT1386 What do I do if my iPod Touch does not show up as a device in iTunes?

Until my latest upday, when I connected my iPod Touch to my Mac, launched iTunes, I selected my iPod under devices and click on sync. Now my iPod doesn't show up under devices? How to I get it to be recognized again?

Hi just wondering how to sync my ipod touch using itunes - when the ipod will not show up as a device. I am having trouble with the ipod as it is displaying the incorrect date, will not access my email etc. However when I go to sync it (thinking this would help) it does not even show upin itunes. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

For the other problem go to Settings>General>International and make sure the calendar is set to Gregorian. The reset time and date. That may resolve the mail problem

I just got my ipod and am trying to connect it to itunes but when I plug it in it is not showing up in my devices.

Start here. Is ti normal and expected for the computer to also see the iPod as a comera since that is how you get saved photos from the iPod to the computer.

Ipod nano is already "named" and it does not show up as a device in Itunes...

I have a brand new ipod nano 7th generation straight out of the box, but it's already named as "Kathi's Ipod". How can I change this name? Plus, I've already synched it with my Itunes account and that worked fine, but it does not show up in Itunes under "devices"????? Please help...

With then new iTunes 11, Apple has suceeded in fixing something that was not broke but made it difficult and complicated...They must have hired some windows guys.
I can no longer drag and drop music into my ipod touch...it seems apple felt I should no longer be able to do that and refuses to let me install the iTunes 10 as they think they know best for all of us....any ideas?

IPod Touch 3G not showing up on desktop or in iTunes

I have not had my iPod show up on the desktop for a long time. Now it's not showing up in iTunes. I have tried restarting everything, reinstalling iTunes, & every other suggestion mentioned in support. What else can I try?

It will not and never has shown on the desktop like other iPods will.
As for showing up in iTunes, you can try another USB port on your computer, or maybe another dock connector cable, if you have one. If your cable is damaged, you can order a warranty replacement here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

I have changed the Genre of my much of music in the "music" file to reorganise my music. I expected these changes to be reflected in my Touch after I syncronised the two but nothing changed.
