I cant seem to get my computer to recognize my new ipad.
When I plug in my sync cord my computer beeps but the ipad does not show in devices on itunes.
Does anyone have any sugestions

Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, restart the iPad and try again. Also try another USB port on the computer. Do not use a hub.

I've had a problem with my ipod saying "do not disconnect". I've gone through every step to no avail. When I tried to restore the ipod and launch the updater, it's telling me it "can't mount ipod". I have done absolutely everything I could come up with from these forums to connect my first gen ipad to multiple devices and not one thing has worked. I need new ideas. I consistently get error 43 saying that it can't install, can't be recognized and USB device unknown.

If your using the same cable for your wall charger as you are for your computer, than the problem is probably within the cable (if there isn't visible damage to the cable of coarse). The quockest solution would be to buy your self a new cable. There is probably nothing wrong with your wall adapter, so just the cable will do.

I have the same problem of the explorer not detecting the player, but i can somehow drag and drop files to the payer through a folder named my zen. try updating the drivers but they mad no difference to the software as it did for me.

I have an iphone 5 that in the past has had no trouble connecting to my windows computer. Recentlly though, it is syncing my pictures and music just fine though wifi, but when I try to plug it in through the USB port, my computer nor itunes recognizes my iphone. When I pull up the computer folder, all I see is "icloud photos" system folder, where my iphone should be.
Things I have tried:
1. I am running version 11 of itunes, and no updates are required.
2. Turning my iphone on and off
3. Restarting my comptuer
4. Restarting itunes
5. Turning off and on the Apple Mobile service and also making sure it is set to starting automatically
I have not uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes but that will be next step. I'm not sure if that is necessary. When I run the itunes diagnostic, it says it doesn't recognize an apple device connected to it.
I am running Windows XP if that helps. My iphone does not have the latest upgrade because I need to delete its photo library though itunes before I can download it. And I can't do that unti iTunes and my computer recognize my phone.

Why I first bought my Verizon 8gig iPhone 4, I plugged it into my laptop and began following all the steps to link it to my itunes( upgraded from black 8gig i4 to this white one) it was working fine, and my laptop died halfway through the process. Ever since my laptop never even made the noise when I plugged it in. It wasn't a huge issue, as I only used my phone for pictures, texting, and calls, and facebook, but now my memory is full and I need to get files off it. I borrowed my girl's laptop and i found out that it doesn't get recognition from ANY computer. What is wrong with my phone??

Unless these "other" computers have iTunes installed you will not be able to manage the content on the device.

Hi PWolves04, the fix bobapcoed described probably won't help you because your computer still "sees" your CD drive--it just doesn't read the disks you insert. The fix makes your computer see your drive again when it has completely disappeared from "My Computer". Speaking from personal experience (I've had to replace three CD/DVD-Rom drives over the years) one of the first signs that they're dying is the inability to recognize and read disks.

My Windows 7 HP computer will not recognize my camera (XHA1s) anymore. I used it two weeks ago to record and transfer the video, and everything went just fine. I went to use the same exact setup two days ago and the computer will not recognize the camera. I tried the firewire cable I have been using and I even went out and bought a new one to see if a new cable would solve it, but neither worked. I am at a loss cannot figure out what happened/went wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have any other firewire devices you could connect to the computer to test the port? When you have the camera connected does anything show up in Device Manager? You could try uninstalling the driver for the port and then reinstalling it to see if that helps.

No. Any other external drive I plug in works. This particular one, I was using the morning before it disappeared. I know the drive works with this computer I have been using it with this computer for months with no problems. It shows up in the system profiler (image 1), but not in disk utility (image 2) or on my desktop (image 3)
