Hi, after turning on Voice over and then turning off the i pad 2, I found that it would not turn on again as the locking code which always worked till now, 2121 is not recognised. A voice can be heard when trying to enter the 4 letter code stating the letters
I have tried to repair programme by resetting several times and also downloading i tune software as suggested by your advice centre but the i pad remains locked
Please can you tell me how I can resolve this issue?

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

If you have a recent iCloud backup that was done when that message was on the devcie, you can restore from that backup.
No, Apple does not keep your messages, no do they have access to them. That would be a serious invasion of privacy, don't you think?

All adobe files now automatically open in firefox web browser, even when opening them from widows explorer. I want all adobe files to be opened in adobe reader as a default. Yet I disable the plugin Adobe Acrobat 11.0.9.29 and it still does this. I can't use firefox this way.
When you open a PDF file that you saved to your computer, by double-clicking the file, does it open with Adobe Reader or with Firefox?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then alright thats one step down. I would recommend this article as well, specifically sections 1, 3, and 5 which will resolve it if the issue is due to software.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.

Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Does it work with headphones plugged in? If yes, did you try to play music in headphone mode, then unplug during playback and start playing music again after that?
If you toggle the volume, can you see the slider moving up or down? -

It sounds like you added credit to your iTunes Store account but in iTunes Store on the Apple TV you are being prompted for a verification. I would start by double checking that the gift has been redeemed to your account with this article either on your computer or iOS device:

I deleted and re downloaded Firefox 5 using my VPN "Astrill" linked "from Australia" but it still happens. Can you assist, as a lot of the downloads I create have Mandarin instructions in them. I can't get adobe Flash 10 to work here in China either, but FF and A10 were both working prior to leaving Australia when I used xp. I had a computer crash and reloaded everything new, including FF and Adobe 10 Flash when I arrived in China. Can you shed any light?Thanks jscher2000. That did the trick! I looked everywhere too. Chances are your iPad is fine. when you clicked on that e-mail, you confirmed to them 'hey, real person' so now Mr Spammer is working towards his 'make money from home' quota of spam by sending you multiple e-mails. You can block him - I'm not sure what e-mail client you're using so no idea for exact instructions, but you'll probably need to do this on a computer not via the iPad) and you could report him....wouldn't hold my breath that the report will actually accomplish anything beyond the person being blocked.
The iPad's operating system is different from the OS of a PC or Mac. Viruses written for one can't run on the others. (and iPads dont' get viruses in the strictest definition of the term, malicious programs that propogate themselves across the operating system)
The down side, even if you block this person, they know your address is a 'live' one so you'll need to be alert and aware because I'm sure more spam and phising mails are on their way.
If you did enter ANY info, make calls and start changing passwords ASAP.
