This most often means that you previously hacked your phone to downgrade the iOS or jailbreak, and the modem baseband (firmware) was altered. In that case, SOL - there is no way to restore or update to a stock iOS again.
There are some "alternative" methods that will get the phone out of recovery mode and usable again, but it will remain in a hacked and unstable state. Google to find these.
"Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state."

That probably explains why you have/had no clue you were purchasing a locked device and think it's an Apple problem to get it unlocked. -

Are you attempting to synchronise new or existing photographs between your devices? My Photo Stream can only synchronise new photographs.

For some raw images auto exposure is not available, have a look at this manual page:

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update! -

What if I purchase a device that is still linked to the previous owner's account?
Contact the previous owner as soon as possible and ask them to erase the device and remove it from their account.

Help, please!! I just lost a year of work on my Dragon Vale game : (. I opened the app as usual and got a grey box message: "Game Centers terms of service have changed. Enter your Apple ID". Which I tried over and over to do but it would not accept it! Then another. Essage came up: "You have been logged out. Do you want to log in or vreate a new account?". The buttons below said "new accou t" and "cancel". I did not want to create a new account - I wanted my old account back so I pushed cancel. A new account page opened and my game was back at square one : (

I woke up this morning - xmas day of all days and had a message on my phone that it needed to be restored via itunes. I connected it to my laptop and it tried to restore but failed at the point of iphone firmware update. I have back-ups etc - I have tried it on two different laptops and have tried at least 10 times but keeps failinhg at the same point - has anyone else had this and found a cure or is the phone dead. Its on ios 6.0.0.1
Error -1 could indicate a hardware issue. You may need to take the device to an Apple Store and have it looked at

Wifi and iCloud buttons are disabled (iPhone 4s) - please help!
My wifi connection was dropping out intermittently. I read on a post I'd seen previously that I should disable my iCloud function to see if wifi started working again - it didn't.
I re-set to factory settings but because I'm unable to use wifi I am also unable to use icloud to re-set my phone. It's a nightmare.

I received this errir msg when I wants to sync my 3gs iPhone. And I already update my iTunes to 64-bit. "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed.Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version itunes".
First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -
HT201263 iPod touch 4th gen is stuck in recovery mode and won't restore with iTunes. Please Help!
I had jailbroken my ipod touch then decided it didnt do much of anything, so I decided to restore my ipod. But itunes didnt finish the restore and left me in recovery mode.
