HT1414 Asks to turn off find my device before restore but forgot passcode
I am trying to restore my ipad because I forgot the passcode. But When I connect it asks me to turn off "Find my ipad" in settings on my ipad before I can restore. How I can I get around it and restore my ipad?

HT1212 How do i unlock a ipad when it asks to turn off find my iphone in icloud
My son has locked hiads ipad from too many attempts at the passcode. We have tried to restore it back to factory settings but it is now asking to turn off "find my Ipad" in Icloud but the problem is we cant get into the ipad to do this. any ideas??
Force iPad into Recovery Mode (Step by Step)
1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
On Computer
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.

How can I turn off "Find My iPad" to restore to factory settings if screen is not working? I can't get access to the apps on my mini pad. I can see the device when I'm in iTunes.
Try resetting the iPad by holding the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears.

I tried to do this, but I'm getting a message that says I have to turn off find my iphone before I can restore. Since my Iphone is locked, obviously I can't do this. So how can I unlock it?

Forgot to sign out of iCloud and turn off find my Mac before selling.
I Recently sold my MacBook Pro and had it wiped clean at the Genius Bar but didn't know I was supposed to have turned off find my Mac and sign out of iCloud. I went back to the Genius Bar before shipping my computer and asked if I needed to set up the computer again just to sign out of find my Mac/iCloud and the guy had me sign into iCloud and go to find my Mac to make sure my computer wasnt showing up on the map anymore and it wasn't. Since my computer doesn't show up on find my Mac will the buyer still have trouble setting up his iCloud or have access to my info? I don't know if my computer wasn't showing up because it's not turned on and set up right now until the buyer gets it. Just wondering if my info is safe when he tries to set up the computer as his own.
To restore your iPhone, you must turn off 'Find My iPhone' first. If you can't do that on your iPhone directly, you should open https://icloud.com/on your computer with a web browser > log in with your iCloud account > click Find My iPhone > remove your iPhone from Find My iPhone.

IF you know that, try restart your iPhone if it doesnt work try restoring your device. If it doesnt work again, you have hardware problem. Try changing your screen. -
How can I turn off find my iPhone to restore when it won't let me into my phone settings.
I went to use my phone last night and suddenly it says activation is required (which I'm not sure I understand alone) but I began to go through the steps and it says it can not activate because the beta has expired and I need to do a system restore. So I proceeded to do the system restore by plugging into iTunes and it tells me it cannot do a restore unless I turn off find my iPhone but my phone will not allow me to look at any settings other than my wifi settings in its current state. How can I turn this off to proceed and what is going on with my phone in general?
Force it into recovery mode to restore it as explained here: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Sometimes you have to do this more than once to be successful. After restoring, you'll have to restore an existing backup, if you have one.

Daughter changed her passcode then forgot the passcode. Tried to restore iphone but could not since "find my iphone" was enabled. Cant shut it off because i cant log into device. Stuck, need help. Not sure where to go from here.

I have NEVER had a password for my iphone and I bought it outright. It asked me for a passcode and now I have been locked out of my phone. I will have to restore it but this is very annoying. Why ask me for a passcode when I have never had one? And why change my settings straight up after I download ios7?

I don't know if I'm repeating my question. I can't restore my ipad after updating to latest ios. The battery went low, I had to eject and plug in to charge. The set up will not complete without resoring from icloud or itunes (i backed up to computer using itunes) or setting up the ipad as a New ipad. I want to restore all my stuff but the message I get in itune says "Find my ipad must be turned off before 'ipad' can be restored". Go to icloud settings on your ipad and turn off Find My iPad before restoring your iPad.". I cant' get to this setting on my ipad because the set up is not complete!!! I'm stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid if I set up the ipad as new it will backup the new ipad over my previous backup and then I will loose all my photos, songs, aps, notes,......
I have the same problem and we can't simply just restore from the backup. It says that I have to set up my iPad through restoring. So I tried restoring it in iTunes but it won't restore until I have to turn off this **** "Find My iPad" crap but I couldn't because the set up's not complete and it won't let me go to my settings unless I set it up. So basically it's asking me to go to my settings but before I could go to it I have to restore, and in order to restore I have to go to settings. Get where I'm at?
Please, Apple Tech people! I'm using iphone 5 with ios 7. I just upgraded ios 7 today. after upgrade I realised that passcode was activated before upgrade I was not using that feature. I forgot my passcode so I got my phone disabled for a while. I searched the discussions and saw that I need to restore and then restore from back up to have the passcode to disable. When I try to restore my phone I got the below message:
Find My iPhone must be turned off before “Jean” can be restored.
Go to iCloud Settings on your iPhone and turn off Find My iPhone before restoring your iPhone.
I can not turn off Find my Iphone because my phone locked and I forgot the passcode.
