I did try to do that, but it needs wifi connection to download the software i dont have wifi connection and one more thing, I dont have in front of me right now my personal computer im using another persons computer what should i do just to download the software update now and then when i got home i can download or transfer it on my personal computer when i get back.

Tones is the new name for Ringtones. If the entry is missing in the left-hand column of iTunes then enable it from Edit > Preferences > General tab.
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device, check the option and sync again.

An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. You can't have content in iCloud without having it on your phone, you will need to look at deleting items from your device that you don't need. Movies and TV shows from iTunes are possibly a good start because they tend to be large and can be redownloaded at a later date.

Hi- My Iphone 5 wont charge using power cable or USB...I am using a genuine apple charger/cable..this started after I was prompted with new update for IOS 7 yesterday. My phone is dead and wouldnt power up ..have tried resetting using itunes but i doesnt detect the phone and..pressing sleep/home button doesnt do anything

I guess that it just had a bad connecting port on the phone itself, no clue why it wouldn't work when plugged in both ways other than there is actually some differentiating between the two sides. -

These are user to user forums. Apple does not participate here and does not respond to posts. For the record, since the iPad 2 supports iOS 8 any attempt to update the iPad 2 will result in an update to 8.1. Apple only supports updating to the latest version of the operating system that the device supports.

Can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes
I can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.4. This started a week ago. I unsubscribed and resubscribed to my podcasts (no luck). I whitelisted the possible sending domains from a whitepaper I found on this site (no luck). I haven't added any other software or made any other changes to my computer configuration.
I bought these books on my iPad and they aren't downloaded there either (previously had no problems buying and downloading books to both iPad and MacBook). Interestingly, I was also unable to download App updates on my computer via iTunes until just now, when they suddenly were successfully downloaded. I've been able to download App updates on both iPad and iPhone all along.Forgot to post the error message I've been getting when I open iTunes:

I downloaded and paid for an app on my ipad, how can I get it free on my iphone without using itunes as my laytop is broken. I cannot seem to find the purchase tab in app store? I am logged in using the same ID
First, the app must be universal...designed for both iPhone/iPad:
Tap App Store.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap Updates.
Tap Purchased on the resulting screen.
Locate the app in your Purchased tab.
Tap the download icon.
The app will begin downloading and you'll be taken back to your home screen. -
I connect my iphone 4 to the itune. It asked me to download a new update for my phone. After I downloaded the update, the itune no longer able to detect my iphone through the USB. My phone is un-responsive showing the plug into the itune icon only on the screen. Please help.

No. You need iTunes on a computer.
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod inRecovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

TS3212 Unable to download new update for iTunes on my computer after installing OS6 on iPhone
I have had no problems in the past being able to download updates until now.
I updated my iPhone 3GS to OS6 with no problems and now I cannot get my iTunes on my computer to download a new update from 10.5 to 10.7 and it now rejects my phone when syncing, saying that it needs to have an update to 10.6.3 or higher. Is there anyway to get the update function back to working on my current iTunes without having to reinstall? If I must reinstall my iTunes, will it still keep all my data from before like an update or do I lose everything and have to start from scratch or will the installer keep the old config that is currently installed?
Things I have tried:
Restarting the computer---same results
I opened the software update application inside the software folder--opens the update window but has no updates listed in it...then tried to update again while having it open--still nothing.
Only thing I can think of at this point is to reinstall.
Just hoping for any help in order to avoid having to do this.
(Using Windows7 64-bit on my computer)
Any helpfull answers would be highly appreciated.I bit the bullet and downloaded a fresh install download from apple.com since the updater would no longer work.
Still a mystery as to why the updater was no longer working.
Kept the original installed iTunes where it was and sent the new install to its same folder location.
First couple of attempts failed to download but I persisted and the third attempt it downloaded.
After the download, I went into the iTunes folder, clicked on the setup icon and the install was made complete.
Fortunately as diesel pointed out, all of my settings and media remained intact.
Thanks to diesel vdub for providing a little assurance, and now all is back to normal and up to date once again. -

Java 6u38 came out quite a while ago and Apple disregarded it because they are trying to force people onto Lion and Mtn Lion and dumps the responsibility for Java onto Oracle.

I can't argue that Apple wants to get out from under Java and has publically stated that for several years now. It's turned into a security nightmare, much the way Adobe Flash has, so I don't blame them at all for walking away. I still expect them to fulfill their agreement to continue support of Java 6 through end-of-life. -
