You can also try resetting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. Reboot your iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I can't connect to the app store with my iPad

I can't connect to the App Store with my iPad. The App Store icon is displaying 3 updates available but when I click on the icon I can't connect.

    HaiTan --
We're all other Apple customers here, helping each find solutions.  So we can't fix it.
But try again tomorrow.  All Apple servers are undergoing a huge number of hits.  I think tomorrow or even the next day, all upgrade, update, and activation servers will be in better shape, as well as the App Store.
Any time millions of people want to do exactly the same thing online, there's always trouble, LOL.

  • HELP tried all suggestions and still can't connect to I-tunes store

I know this has been posted a million times, but I'm still having problems. It's telling me the network was refused. Diagnostics says connection to the store was successful and I've done permit all on Norton for the firewall. Does anyone have a suggestion?????? HELP

just checking. have you permitted iTunesHelper in Norton as well? see:

  • Can't connect to the music store - tried most everything - help!

When I try to connect, itunes says it can't and asks me to check my internet connection. Same thing happens when I click on check for updates. Radio works fine. When I put a music CD in my PC, itunes gets the CD info. FYI, Quicktime won't go to update site or bring up launch video. Says that sever is unavailable.
My PC is an HP P4 2Ghz, 256M ram, XP home SP2. All windows and HP software and firmware are up to date. All other communications work fine.
    Here is everything I tried:
Disabled Viruscan, Disabled Zone Alarm, checked that XP firewall was disabled. Connected directly to my cable modem (Cox is the ISP). I don't use a proxy server and checked to make sure none was configured
Used MSCONFIG to disable everything but itunehelper and qttask (left all Microsoft services running) - still couldn't connect.
Called Cox and asked if they blocked any ports. They explicitly said that iTunes does not use any ports they restrict.
I uninstalled and installed itunes and quicktime about 10 times, in all combinations. I even used the stand alone version of quicktime - no change. I made sure all privacy, virus and firewall programs were disabled when I uninstalled in installed - still can't connect.
I am able to see the html script when I go to itunes.com/version.xml. I can ping phobos.apple.com and dns reports the IP address as 69.44.123.17. I can ping that address. I have upgraded to the latest itunes of 6.04 (my ipod came with 6.02). My ipod connects fine to itunes and gets the music I have loaded from CD's.
I even tried turning on UPnP in XP. This made no change. I can see packet activity when I try to go the the music store, or when I click on check for upgrades - but I can never connect. My PC appears to be authorized, as I have the option to unauthorize - but I can't do this because I can't connect.
FYI - my daughter's laptop can connect to the music store. She is running the same OS and version of itunes. I set that system up and it is no different from my desktop.
I've exhausted my PC knowlege. Anything I missed?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't been able to download songs for 6 weeks - worked fine before that. Get error message to check network settings, but all working fine - in possible related issue, can't access secure websites (example, Yahoo mail)through Safari, but no problem accesssing same websites using Firefox.(Safari can’t open the page “https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=us” because it can’t find the server “login.yahoo.com”.)

Make sure you allow ports 3689 (TCP) and 5353 (UDP) access in your security software. if that doesn't work, try disabling your security software.

    Hello Stefansoehne,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try flushing your DNS cache by issuing the following command in a Terminal window. Many other users receiving the same error have reported that they were able to resolve the issue by clearing out the DNS cache.
    *sudo dscacheutil -flushcache*
(You'll need to enter your Admin password)
    Hope it helps.

  • I can't connect to the iTunes Store in my sons iPad, every other apple device we have is working fine. Internet is working also, what should I do?

Can anyone help me figure out why I can't connect to the iTunes Store through my iPad? My iPhone and iPod touch and computer are working just fine

Do other apps connect to the internet on the iPad ? If they do then have you tried logging out and back into the account on it (Settings > iTunes & App Store), disconnecting and reconnecting to your network, and/or tried a soft-reset ?
