can you help me update my ipod 2? I restored my ipod and it said update on the 8th of july and i checked on the day and it said to suddenly check on the 15th. can you respond when you find out the prob? thank you very much.

I believe you're looking at the section which says when iTunes will check for the next update, not actually update your iPod. It does it in weekly intervals, which is why the next date is 7 days on.

The safari app on me ipod touch works not so fine, it can surf the website, the only problem is, when I am using the Safari app, for every 10-15 minutes, it just jump out of Safari and go to home screen, and I have to press Safari again to reload the sites, and then in 10m, it jumps out of Safari again, it's just annoying me, anyone has any idea about this?

Unfortunately, this is a common problem. You can always try resetting or restoring, but it might keep happening.
It's been discussed ad nauseum already, though, so try a forum search.

OKAY , SO I DECIEDED TO OPEN UP MY IPOD ONE DAY AND FIX MY HOME BUTTON, BUT WHEN I CLOSED IT THE SCREEN WAS WHITE AND I COULD STILL TOUCCH THE SCREEN AND IT WOULD WORK AND I WOULD GET THE NOISES FOR MY NONFICATOIN BUT NOW I TRIED OPENING IT AND FIXING IT AND NOW I CANT TOUCH THE SCREEN WHERE IT WOULD CLICK AND I CANT HEAR MY NONFICATIONS AND MY HOME BUTTON DOESNT WORK AND IVE ALREADY RESTORED MY IPOD AND I CANT RESET IT CAUSE MY HOME BUTTON DOESNT WORK NOT EVEN WHEN I OPEN THE IPOD AND CLICK IT. If i jailbreak my ipod and something goes wrong with it, and i restore it is it covered?
If it is jailbroken so bad it wont turn on and u turn it on and the pineapple doesnt show up, is it covered?
If you cant turn it on, and its cause if because of jailbreaking, can you find that out?

The GSBTP covers against a multitude of things, from normal wear and tear, to power surges, to even (in some cases) accidental damage. Non of the plans cover against intentional damage, though. So, if you jailbreak your ipod and it causes damage, it would be considered intentional.

Agreed! If you want help soon, call Apples paid support line. Now while you were waiting for us to slowly get around to answering you, you could have downloaded the manual for the ipod, so that you understood the function of the mail sync options in itunes. Mail sync only copies the settings needed to access your mail servers, from the mail client on your computer, over to the ipod touch. It does not copy any actual mail messages, and does not copy any settings from the ipod back to your mail program. The advanced section is meant to be used if you have messed up the settings on the ipod itself. It will ignore any changes to bookmarks, contacts, or mail settings depending on which you check, and will copy new information to the ipod. So in your case if you are able to access, and send mail correctly from the account on your mac, then clicking on the sync mail account button in itunes as well as the replace info on this ipod whatever in the advanced section should transfer over the correct mail account settings to your ipod.

Might be an authorization issue in iTunes. Try deauthorizing your computer through the Store menu at the top of iTunes and then authorizing it again. Once that is done try transferring purchases from the iPod Touch.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
