I am on Holliday and started an iOS upgrade to my iPAD 2, yesterday.  The security lock have never been enabled.  After the upgrade via WiFi in the hotel, the iPAD asks for a 4 digit kode to access my iPAD!   ?????? APPLE, what programming subroutine is forgotten during functional testing prior to release of the latest iOS upgrade???? - Now from a borrowed hotel guest computer I post my ”HELP NEEDED”.  Please advice if there is a way to skip a security kode I never enabled (nor even tried out and diabled) – WITHOUT spending time to find a Apple store helpdesk  that restore via iTunes, and delete all my local data.

During the setup of iOS 7 which you went through after installation it asked if you wished to create a passcode. It is possible to skip setting up a passcode at this step but you must have created one.
If you can't remember the passcode and you have enabled "find my iPad" you can use http://www.icloud.com/ to remote erase your iPad, then you can set it up again, and restore it from an iCloud backup.

  • Wap4410n asks for an 8 digit code on access point

                I am trying to reset up an accesspointandwhen I go to wireless connections and try to connect to it I am asked for an 8 digit number that is supposed to be on the access point.  But there has never been an 8 digit code on the access point.  All that is on there is a serial number, MAC address and a PID VID but no 8 number code.   When I go to 192.168.1.245 in internet explorer it will not connect to it.  Is there any way to get this setup without the 8 digit code?

    Christopher,
    The 8 digit code is for WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). You can read about WPS in the help file or the Admin Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/csbap/wap4410n/administration/guide/WAP4410N_Admin_Guide.pdf
    Please note:
    "On the Cisco WAP4410N, firmware 2.0.5.3 and later releases disabled WPS by default for better security protection."
    There are known security risks when using WPS, so use it sparingly.

  • HT4623 I have an Apple ID and password, the latter is apha-numeric. Never had a problem. I updated to ISO 7. It is asking for a four digit password which I do not have. After my guesses are up , it locks. VERY Frustrating

    I have an Apple ID and password, the latter is alpha numeric. Have not had any problem using it. Downloaded ISO 7 and it is requesting a four digit password. Nothing I enter works. Then it locks for awhile. I try again, no number I have ever used works.

  • Cannot and have never been able to connect to a testing server

    Hello
    I am using Dreamweaver and am trying to set up a testing site using IIS.  I can’t get it set up.  It says I don’t have administrative privileges.  I am the administrator.  This is a home computer and I am the only user  of the computer. I am just a novice.
    I posted my problem in an Adobe forum.  I was told to enter a command in the  administrator command because I am not an administrator (this made me scratch my head???).  The following is what I was told to enter:
    icacls %systemdrive%\inetpub /grant  %userdomain%\%username%:(OI)(CI)(F) /grant %userdomain%\%username%:F
    it does not work and says there is no command for” icasis”  I am not sure what I need to enter, however.  For system drive I put “C”.  For user name I put the name of my computer. For user name I put my user name.
    This is what I ended up with and this is what I put in the administrators command prompt:
    icacls %C%\inetpub /grant  %Joe-II%\%jtb%:(OI)(CI)(F) /grant %Joe-II%\%jtb%:F
    I am sure this is wrong.
    In addition, in properties of inetpub wwwroot it says I have read and write for both administrator and iis_iusrs privilages (I set it up following a DW tutorial).
    So why can’t I set up testing server on iis? This problem has gone on for years.  I have newer versions of Adobe and operating systems and I have never been able to set up a testing server.  By the way, this is windows 8 professional.
    Any help would be much appreciated.  I would even pay someone to solve my problem but don’t know where I would go to do this.

    << Response was:
    Hello,
    I'm sorry to hear you are having issues.
    From the information you have provided, it would appear that your issue is based somewhere in the user account permissions configuration on your PC.
    I recommend taking the following steps to ensure your user account has administrative permissions:
    Open your "Start" menu and right click on "Computer" (or "My Computer" depending on your version of Windows).
    Select "Manage".
    In the new window titled "Computer Management", select "Local Users and Groups" under "System Tools".
    Select the folder labeled "Users" and find your user account in the right panel.
    Right click on your user name and select "properties".
    Select the "Member of" tab and verify that you see "Administrators."
    If not, you can select "Add" and then type "Administrators" in the field labeled "Enter the object names to select".
    Please update us with the results once you've followed these instructions and we can troubleshoot based on that further information.
    Be sure to let us know of any error messages or pop up windows you encounter.

    My response:  I did what you asked and I am listed as an Administrator or do see Administrators there.  Thank you for your response. Hopefully you can trouble shoot from what I have replied.
    Again, this has been going on for so long.  I would even bee willing to pay to have this problem cleared up.  Again, thanks.

    Perhaps one of the hits returned on a google search "setting up iis server" will help: https://www.google.com/search?q=setting+up+iis+server&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozil la:en-US:official&client=firefox-a.
    I sympathize, as I had a lot of trouble trying to set up a localhost server on a Win8 computer. Experienced many false starts. Finally got it working to the extent I could actually work on a WP site locally, but the set up is still weird in that when I uploaded all the new files to make them live, nothing updated. Ended up making all the changes again to the live site.

    Settings>general>resets>erase all content and settings.
    That will put it back to its out of the box state. Set it up with your own apple Id.

    Your CVV code is asked for whenever the Terms & Conditions for the iTunes Store have changed, or if you access the iTunes Store from a new device, This prompt does not indicate any actual charges.
    Yes it is okay to enter your CVV code on free apps, as well as any apps from the iTunes Store as you are giving your CVV code to APPLE itself, and not to the app developer.

  • I think I've been hacked? A few days ago my phone asked for my Apple ID and I entered it not thinking anything of it and now I've just been in my music library and there is a whole album of songs by an artist that I have never heard of? Help?!

    Basically my iPhone 4 asked for my Apple ID and I entered it thinking it was just some check or something and then I've just been scrolling through my music library and there is a whole U2 album there and i have never even heard of U2... i clicked on one of the songs to see what it was and it came up with "This device is already associated with an apple ID. If you download past purchases with your apple ID, you cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
    I Can't delete the album like I can with my other music from my phone and I don't really want to connect my phone to my laptop incase I have been hacked and it could give the person all access to my phone?
    Pde lease help me out, I don't know what's happened:(

    Do the half billion copies of the album they gave away count as "sales"?
    Let's see... An album has to sell 500,000 copies to go gold, 1,000,000 copies to go Platinum, 10,000,000 copies to go diamond... What will they come up with for 500,000,000 copies sold?
    Something radioactive would be cool... though difficult to display safely on the wall...

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school enviroment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Screen is asking for a 4 digit passcode. what is it  ? i never saw it before

    today my i phone display asking for a 4 digit passcode. i never had seen this before and had no passcode.  i can't use my phone

    Someone put it on there.
    If you don't know it, you can restore your phone from the computer to which it was last synched to remove the password,
    If that computer is not available, you'll have to put the phone in DFU mode and restore it as a brand new device.
