HT1414 I cannot turn off McAfee security and my phone is stuck in restore--what do you suggest?

I cannot turn off McAfee security on my laptop and my phone is stuck in restore mode---what am I to do?

    What appears to be happensin is that before the actual download finishes/restore starts. the recovery mode is timing out. I would do a manual download using the instructions here:
    iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
    Then place the iPod in Recovery mode and restore using the instructions in the link.

  • Cannot turn-off Auto Correction and leave Check Spelling On

    For some reason, when you turn off Auto correction- (keyboard settings) it also turns off check spelling.
    Hope thesre is a fix for this.

    I wish I knew the answer to that and many other questions. We are all just other iPad users like you trying to help each other sort through any problems that may arise. Frankly, I would love to be able to turn off auto correct and keep spell check on just like you. The only recourse we have right now is to offer our feedback to Apple about it and you can do that by clicking on this...

    Diesel, as I'd mentioned in my first post I'd tried that, although only from backup. I thought it fixed the problem but then it reappeared.
    Interestingly enough, (and I don't normally condone tapping on a device), my friend gave it a good tap, this morning, and it started working instantly. Coinsidence? I didn't know. It's locked up numerous times since then during the day today, and I've tried his tapping technique again and it's worked every time. Now I don't know what to think. I didn't think there were any parts inside that would be effected by tapping it but this doesn't give me a warm feeling about the hardware inside.

    I have had my iPhone 4 for just under a month and I've got the most recent osi 4 update. I've just come home from uni but in my house I have very little 3G signal and so I keep getting interrupted every five minutes with my phone telling me I've lost 3G signal. I know this and cause I have wifi I was wondering how I can just turn my 3G off.
    I've looked online and everywhere says go to settings>network>disable 3G. However, I do not have this option!!! What do I do!? I'm getting really stressed out

    First time I recall seeing this reported here.
    Any change after powering your iPhone off and on and/or after a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so?
    If 3G network access is on and you are in an area where the carrier's 3G network is not available or has very low reception, the iPhone should switch to the carrier's EDGE or GPRS network automatically. If cellular reception is very low and in and out regardless, there is no point in leaving cellular reception on which will burn up the battery trying to maintain the connection. You can Enable Airplane mode followed by turning on wi-fi access leaving Airplane mode enabled for cellular access.

    Did you try this:
    Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
    Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
    Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
    An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
    Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
    Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

    Start with this step:
    You might need to charge your device before it can turn on. Plug in your device and let it charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad), then try turning it on.
    You should see a battery icon while your device is charging. If you continue to see a black screen, reset your device.
    If your iPhone turns back on, but then blanks out again unexpectedly, try this next:
    When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
    Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
    Put your device in recovery mode.
    When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

    Which problems did you have that you decided to reset Firefox?
    Note that if you have visited pages before on a server via a secure connection then Firefox will prefer to using a secure connection (a reset imports the history).
    You can set the Boolean browser.urlbar.autoFill pref to false to disable auto-fill on the location bar.

    If you did APple do not want to know that their upgrade has trashed your ipad
    search on  ios 7  ipad  greek keyboard
    to see other sufferers - if you had a greek keyboard then you need to set it to english/french etc
    to do that you need to unlock your ipad
    to unlock your ipad you need to re-set your keyboard
    to do that you need a greek keboard
    to get your greek keyboard back you need to unlock your ipad
    and so on and son

    For some weird reason i cannot turn off my headset anymore.
    It doesn't work.
    When i try, it simply looses connection with pc and reconnects. At least i'm guessing that's what's happening.
    The USB transmitter is swithching between blinking and fixed light.
    I've tried re-pairing it a few times now, that stops the connect/disconnect issue but i still can't turn off the power. . .
    Unlike many others who are experiencing problems, i have NOT attempted to install any firmware updates, so i'm at a loss at what is happening here.
    Any suggestions?
