HT1414 I have an ITouch about a year old that has never been used. When trying to sync with Itunes, get message: The IPod ITouch could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1). I have tried 2 different computers with same result. IPod was reset def
Itouch was reset to factory defaults. Have tried ideas listed in ITunes help. Any ideas?

The" may need service' meand there is a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I got Software update for iOS 6.1 ..
After installation - Phone shows message to connect to iTune,
I connect to iTune - I got message - iTune has detected iPhone in recovery mode. you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTune.
I click on Restore iPhone - it gives error
The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (-1).
Not my phone is not working - Its dead - is show the screen - Connect to iTune.
Please help.

More than likely a hardware issue. You will need to take your phone into Apple.
You can also use the search function type error 56 and you'll see other threads about the issue. You can read for yourself, if other solution will help. -
