HT1414 I'm trying to help a family member who has a disabled ipad.

My mother in law has an Ipad 2 that has a locked screen, reading: Ipad is disabled. Connect to ITunes. She doesn't have a computer and asked me to help her. I took it to the Apple Store and the tech said if they fixed or it or I took it home and connected to Itunes it could be restored, but either way the data would be lost. There was a 2 hour wait for an appointment, so I am trying the DIY route, but can't connect using my password on my account and she doesn't know what hers is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

first retrieve your apple account password ,by clicking on the "forgot password" and the link to reset your password will be sent to your email,note the original email used to create apple id will only receive reset link,and then aftern can use it to restore you ipad.

Effectively use is for what? On your computer you can log into iCloud at www.icloud.com and locate your device. Or you can use a different iOS device and the Find My iPhone app to do the same thing.

The only way a family member can use their own funds and not the Organizer’s account for purchases would be with store credit, such as an iTunes gift card.

After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.

You will need an external drive that is formatted as MAC OS EXTENDED (journaled).
Move the Project, Events, and any photos and music to the external drive by following the instructions in this post.

Be sure to use CONSOLIDATE MEDIA to get the photos and music. Then plug this drive into your computer and you will be able to edit.

Trying to send file to someone who has cs3 but error occurs

Hi I have illustrator cs5 and I am trying to send a file to someone who has cs3, I saved it in a cs3 format but when they try to open it an error occurs saying, "could not find The linked file, choose repair to locate the missing file, replace to open another file, or ignore to leave file unchanged". Please help thank you.

This means that Illustrator cannot find the related files (external resources that you have used for the project, like photos etc...), because the path is changed.
Do you have to pass to your customers not only the illustrator file but also all the files used in that project. Then they have to choose the "repair" option and relink all the missed resources ( simply they have to go to the folders on their hard drive where these files are located and then relink them).

However, if it's a Motorola Droid type phone, usually- yes. Most Motorola smartphones will wipe out everything.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to Apple nor iTunes Support.
What do you mean 'change password, was not confirmed' ? Have you reset your password ? If not then you might be able to re-enable your account via 'reset your password' on this page : http://appleid.apple.com
You might then need to log out of your account on your iOS devices by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them.
If that doesn't fix it then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

HT204380 I have an iphone 4 and I'm trying to call a family member with an ipad.

From what I can tell, my facetime on the phone is set up correctly. We're both on wi-fi networks. It says "Connecting" but after a few moments it says "Connection Lost". I tried facetiming to a friend with an iphone4 and had the same problem. The front and rear facing cameras are working. What could be the problem?

I agree with Tim. Sometimes, like if your wifi network is one from a hotel or something, it has trouble working. Since your on an iphone, maybe try using cellular instead of wifi and see if it still is a problem? If not then your wifi has some sort of issue.

Help, im trying to help an elderly user who cannot remember the blackberry id his daughter gave him

Hi, Ive never used a blackberry before. My elderly friend John Williams was given a blackberry tablet by his daughter and can do nothing with it. She's out of the country and so cannot remind him of the blackberry id (email address & password) he needs in order to use it. Ive set him up a new gmail address, but cannot seem to change the blackberry ID. I was going to try wiping it all using the Blackberry instructions online to do that, but when I boot or reboot the tablet, it simply defaults to the Blackberry ID page, I can't get it out of that mode.
Please can someone help?

Does anyone know how to locate an iPhone 4s which hasn't been setup for iCloud? I have the Number of the phone,but it belongs to a family member who didn't set it up.Is there a way of negating this?

Just been on holiday and one of our party lost his iPhone 4s.He didn't set it up on iCloud.He has it set to vibrate and it goes straight into voice mail. Does anyone know if there is a way of locating it without iCloud/MobileMe?

Sorry, unless Find My Phone was turned on & activated on that phone, there is no way to locate it other than physically looking for it.

Help me find who has my stolen iPad.

My Ipad 2 was stole in February. I did not have find my iPad turned on, so no luck in tracking it. Today, we got an email from [email protected] saying that our stolen iPad had been locked using our new passcode.
So, if apple knows that it has been locked by someone (of course not us), is there a possibility that the iPad can be found? I would love to find the people who broke into our home, turned it upside down, and stole all our apple products, plus everything Nintendo plus much more.
When I use the find my iPhone app, or go to iCloud.com to find my new iPad and iPhone, it looks for the stolen iPad also, but says that either it can't be found, or that it is offline.
Please help me out.

iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

Ichat av 2.0 -trying to ichat kids w/ Grandpa who has old emac

Problem: grandkids want to video chat w/ Grandpa. Grandpa has emac w/ 10.2.8. Got macaully webcam. Installed, works perfectly. Problem: Grandpa's emac didn't come with ichat av, only regular ichat 1.0.1 (v51.4).
Is there any way I can get his Mac to do video chat? I can't find ichat av 2.0 anywhere - version tracker shows a link, but when you click, they bounce you over to a version that requires OSX 10.3, which he doesn't have. I don't even know if I can update his powerpc G4 from 10.2.8 to 10.3 - there doesn't seem to be a download for going from 10.2.8 to anything. Any ideas short of buying him a new computer?

HT4628 How can I delete a network from my system preferences? My wifi keeps trying to connect to a network that has been disable.

We have disabled an old network in our home and installed a new one. My computer keeps finding the old network, but I have no connection as it is disabled. I have set the new network as my priority, but it doesn't seem to be working. I would like to delete the old network, but can't find how to do it.

Try going to system preferences/network. Unlock the padlock if locked with your admin paswd.
Click on Locations, at the bottom of the drop down menu select Edit locations, this should bring up the list of networks, highlight the one you wish to delete and click the minus button, it should disappear. Click done.
