Since last few months i am trying to update my ipad from iOS 3.2.2 to 4.1.2 or 5.1, but it always shows error 3002, 3194 etc. I have checked & resorted to all the given troubleshooting steps , but they didn't help.
Somebody please help meConnect the iPad to iTunes, and do the update with iTunes.
The 4.1.2 ipsw file will not work, no longer supported.
The incremental update directly on the iPad does not work either, unless you are already on iOS 5.
Let iTunes do the job, you already lost too much time by doing it yourself. -
I am trying to update my ipad to ios 6 but the update software tells me that my 5.1.1 is the current version
If your iPad is the first generation then 5.1.1 is the highest it can go. iOS6 is for iPad 2+

I'm trying to update my iPad to iOS 8.1.2 and it won't update?
I'm trying to update my iPad to iOS 8.1.2 and it won't update?
Is it perhaps downloading the update?
Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Hold down the home and power/sleep buttons for 10 to 15 seconds or until the Apple logo appears. This should reboot the iPad. Then try the update again.
If all else fails, you can try to update through iTunes on a computer. -

I can't turn it off, and when i connect it to itunes, it doesn't displayTry putting the iPad in restore mode and see if iTunes recognizes it. The steps are below:
Turn your iPad off.
Hold down the Home button and plug it into your computer. Keep holding the Home button until you see a screen telling you to connect to iTunes.
iTunes should show you a popup saying that there is an iPad that is in Recovery Mode and needs to be restored before you can use it. Click OK.

I am trying to update my ipad 2 from iOS 4.3.5 to 6.1.3. 6 hours ago it said 49 hours and now says 53. I am making no progress. Please help. I am using wifi connection.
You have to connect the iPad to your computer to update.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

I am trying to update my iPad 2 to iOS 6, but I don't have the Software Update option. I only have About and Usage. How can I update?
In order to update from an IOS earlier than 5.0, you have to hook it up to the computer you sync with to do so.
Once you have updated, you will see the software update option on your settings. But this feature was not introduced until 5.0...

Having trouble updating my ipad to IOS 7
If this is an original (first gen) iPad, it is in fact as up-to-date as it can get. That model doesn't support iOS beyond 5.1.1.

I have been trying for a few days to update my ipad. It is running 5.1.1 and am trying to get to 7. I followed the instructions online but still says 5.1.1 is up to date.
You have to have the correct generation of iPad or have the iPad Mini to be able to download the current operating system. Considering the number of glitches that are appearing I would go ahead and be thankful you're back there.

I keep getting error -3259 when trying to update my iPad to iOS 5, how do I fix this?
I have tried everything! Updating my system, using system restore, turning off all my firewalls, updating all my security programs, uniinstalling iTunes, reinstalling iTunes, googling the answer and I can't seem to find anything to do with this specific error anywhere! What do I do?
Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
