If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

Is there any way to get into your ipod through itunes and be able to unlock it with your passcode?
I dropped my ipod and now the bottom half of my screen isnt working too well and I can't get my lock to slide over to the right to try and type in my passcode, so I was wondering if there was a way to unlock my ipod from itunes and be able to take the passcode off so it is easier for me to get into my ipod. Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
Somehow, all my ipod touch's music was deleted so I restored it but forgot to back up. Now around a term past but I still don't how to get my old data back. Now the music thing still doesn't work so I don't know what happened. Maybe my itunes is stuffed??

I have a new laptop, and have copied over my existing itunes libary, but when i connect my ipad, and go to update the software to the new version it warns me that it will wipe all my apps etc..... How can i stop this from happening and make my new laptop the "home" for my ipad??
Any help gratefully received! :-)Macs use an application called Migration Assistant to copy material from the old Mac to the new one. The macs are connected together and each runs Migration Assistance and the user chooses what stuf to copy onto the new Mac.
Unfortunately I do not know how to do this between pcs or between a Mac and a Pf or even if it's even possible. -

Pictures taken with the phone are part of the backup. So, if you still have a backup from before that happened, restore from it and all photos taken up to that point in time will be restored, if they were inside the camera roll.

I opened a file to print and by accident highlighted and deleted the content. Then in a panic I closed the file and now when I open it is blank. Is there any way to get it back. I have looked and can not see anyway. I dont have anything in my backup?
I'm not sure about older versions, but in Pages 3.x (OS X 10.9.x) select File > Revert To > Browse All Versions. Hopefully there will be an earlier version that you can "revert to".

If you have never backed up then the photos are gone. You should always backup your iPad. You should be able to download your apps again in the App store purchased tab and as long as you use the same ID that you bought them with, you will not be charged again for them. -
I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?
