Go to the menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X
Revert to Snow Leopard
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

if you’re running an older version of OS X, then the reason why you’re not getting available updates is that Apple isn’t making any more updates for that version.
Regarding Safari, more details will be needed on your current situation. Which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on it? Exactly what is happening when you try to open Safari? -

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

What countries are you going to?
With Dial assist, it should understand if you dial a local number in whichever countries you're visiting.
For example of what local ones will look like:

If you want to dial with the country code, you can drop the 0 that leads off pretty much all european numbers. (the 0 in parentheses)
For example, you see a number like this: +44 (0)7725 100 100
You can either dial +44 7725 100 100 or 07725 100 100 if you have a UK SIM card.
But it all depends on the home country your SIM card is from which will determine how well local dialing works without using the country code.
If you're travelling to multiple countries, you will recieve an SMS from the network telling you the roaming rates.
Also, I can recommend you to get the Magicjack app, it's free to download and will let you call any phone in the USA and Canda across any data connection (3G/Wifi) Free and unlimited too! -
I have an iphone 3g I tried to down load an app for netflix and it said I need to have ISO 5 but my phone has ISO 4.2.1 and when I try to update it on my computer through itunes I get message saying I have current version how or what can I do do to get an app the lets me watch netflix on my iphone 3g .Is there an sulision to my problem? You cannot move or copy software between computers. You must reinstall. You will need the serial number. Check your account details on Adobe's site if you registered.

I do a fair amount of audio, video editing and photoshop, but I have a limited budget. What's going to give the best bang-for-buck for the next 3-5 yrs? My current machine is a 13" Macbook unibody 2.4 Core 2 Duo w/ 4Gb Ram so it's time to move forward with more power and screen real estate!

I could never edit on a 13" screen. I'm currently using a 17" MBP i7 Early 2011 as a fast replacement to my aged 20" Intel iMac.
Both systems are not that far apart on stats and you will find that processing HD video will rely highly on the read/write to your storage. Myself, I'd be eye balling the 2011 for the Thunderbolt port so HD Video export/compression doesn't take forever! Currently processing a finished HD project for DVD uses at most 20% of my total CPU capacity. The FW800 drive is the big bottleneck! (I know I need at least a RAID to see a real speed boost).
How good your eyes are and your usage style would dictate if the difference in screen size make a difference to you. -
I just tried updating my iPhone 4GS and it says I have an error, and need to "restore" the phone before I can use it with iTunes??? I don't want to lose the pictures on it! What can I do to save them?

If the device is in recovery mode, any data on it is already lost.
The only options are:
Restore the device to get it functional.
Enjoy the paper weight.

I cant seem to open some photos on Iphoto. I downloaded like 3 months ago from my phone into the iphoto. I could access ALL of my photos back then but when I try and access them now I cant seem to open the file. When i open iphoto and open the folder thats on it, i can see ALL the photos that are there but when I click on different ones some appear in the larger screen but A LOT of them dont appear. Iphoto seems to have erased the file or I dont know.
Also I tried clicking on the photo that doesnt appear and making it "Reveal it on finder" - "original file" and it says 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.".
I really want those photos because they involve a really special family vacation, please help me find those photosA LOT of them dont appear.
What do you see in the window when you click on those? A blank, black window? An exclamation mark? What? -

Go to Settings>General>Usage. How much space does it show you have?
If you connect your phone to your computer, what does iTunes say is on your phone? Do you see a large amount of "Other"? If so, you may have a corrupted database. You'll need to sync your phone then restore it as NEW (not from back up) then re-sync your data).
