I've been trying to update my iphone 3G from ios 4.2.1 to ios 4.3, but when I try I get a message on itunes  saying that ios 4.2.1 is the most current and up to date, not sure what to do.

    iOS 7 is a good idea.  But for apple consumers that are familiar with computers this is a sad upgrade.  This was forcefully released with many issues.  First insure is my air play.  I can only airplay sounds and my IPAD 2 plays the picture.  Second issue is that the iOS system lags.  Third when accessing photos to make a photo a wallpaper, it does let you move but it does not let the photo be resized like the iOS 6.  Another issue is that the apple store keeps showing me updates, but there are not any updates to update.  The auto brightness does not respond even when placing my hand over the sensor.  This is a disgrace for apple users.  How are these issues going to be resolved?  Do we have to go back to IOS6? I have rebooted many time is the fix for this issue? Remind me of windows vista, *****. Please fix.

    Ok, I just found the solution Thank God
    You see how with the new update the icons move as you tilt the phone to give you that "fancy" 3D look, well because of this the wallpaper gets distorted.
    I turned this option off, and the wallpaper resizing issue went away
    Here is how to turn that dumb 3D option off (which also drains your battery):
    Navigate to the iOS 7 Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> ON

    IOS 7 install for iPad 2 stopped at about 90%.  Now I have an iPad with the apple and 90% bar frozen on the screen.  Any advice?

    Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.     If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    I clicked to install the new IOS update yesterday and it froze my ipod 4. Nothing will reset it and it won't charge. When I press power button and on/off button the apple logo appears but followed by a white screen or blue screen or purple screen. Connecting to itunes doesn't work.     Try to put the iPod into DFU mode and restore it in iTunes. There are plenty of tutorials on the internet on how to put it into DFU. Just be sure the iPod is plugged into your computer and iTunes is open before you put it into DFU.

  • IPod touch will not turn on even after charging and holding buttons

    iPod touch 4th gen will not turn on. I have charged it on computer into a USB port for hours. I have held the SleepWake button together with the Home button for 10 sec, 20 sec, 30 sec, and 40 sec. I have tried releasing the SleepWake button first. I have tried disconnecting it from computer then repeating the sequence of buttons. I have tried different USB ports. I have tried reconnecting the iTouch while holding the buttons.     I tried all the steps to reset my nano 6th generation and it still won't turn on. I've had this since February and just started having problems about a week ago after I charged it. Now I can sometimes get it to turn on but mostly it just stays off, I can't even reset it with it plugged in. I have noticed that it get really warm to the touch when it's plugged in and if I let it cool down I might have some luck but soon I have the same problems.

  • New iPad (3) frozen second time...

    Hello, it just happened now. My mom was playing angry birds on my new iPad and when she tried to switch to another game, unblock me, a simple puzzle game, not very graphic intensive, my iPad froze. This has happened second time now and I am kind of worried now.
    First time it happened when my friend was playing 'The End' game. It froze and when I pushed sleep key, even the slide unlock key was not working. I had to restart the iPad by holding lock and home key together and to wait for apple logo to shine again.
    From the day one I've also noticed that the spotlight search also lags every time and swipe it. I've bought this iPad only for work, I'm not even using any heavy apps or rating games like infinity blade etc. I don't even think I've ever used the hardware to its fullest ever.
    When I buy an iPad I expect it to never freeze or hang, or I'd have bought an android, right?
    So I wanted to know if this is a major problem? Should I get mine iPad replaced?
    How to check if my model is faulty?
    I don't really think the iStore will help me much as the guys working there sounded pretty noob, I had to tell them about the new iPad and what it could possibly do etc.

    iOS for me hardly freezes. If it freezes too much, that means I need to do a restore to place a fresh OS on the device. It does lag when swiping to Spotlight, I believe it is because the system is pulling up a database index of everything on the device. I cannot confirm that though.
    Your expectations are a bit high in terms of never becoming unresponsive, though I believe you are right that it should not occur often. This is not a major problem. First follow the above instructions of restoring the device. If the device continues to become unresponsive multiple times per week or month, then that's when you should have yours checked.
    I would not discount the Apple Store employees. If the problem continues to happen often after trying a restore, I would make an appointment with the Genius bar so the issue can be documented and cite that you have done a restore of a new device. If problems then continue then go in again even if you underestimate their knowledge, as the team is there to help you keep going. They can then verify that you have come in before and alternate solutions can be made. You are not working with just one person at an Apple Store as you can always question and ask for different solutions from the employees because they should be willing to find the solution that makes you the happiest.

  • HT1349 Is there a way to reset an ipod touch to original settings?  Hoping it will aleviate some of our issues.

    It could be the battery but it could also be the electronics. I assume this passenger seat was in a closed car in the sun, not in an airplane.

    If none of the above work then you may have to take it to a service center.  This may not be covered by warranty since it was probably stored outside the working temperature range of the device, but you can get a reduced price replacement.
