HT1414 iphone 3gs still wont activate i have tried everything
i have restored it i have changed the chip i have had it done at the apple store they said it will activate in a few days after apple usa had done something still nothing any ideas

If you are trying to sync via iCloud, make sure your MacBook is running OSX Lion 10.7.7, and that you have set up your iPhone as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ and you MacBook as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.htm (including turning On Contacts and Calendars as shown in step 3). If you're syncing via iCloud don't check to sync in iTunes too (on the Info tab in iTunes) or you may end up with duplicate data.

I don't know what "everything" is, unless you state them, so I have to ask if you did this procedure to reset the iPod shuffle.

If that does not help, is the iPod recognized by iTunes when it is connected to USB? If so, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES). Over to the right, go to the Settings screen. There should be a Restore button there. Restore will erase the iPod, install the latest software, and give it the default settings. After it completes, load some songs on it and try it again. Hopefully, it will play now.

i have done a recovery mode restore and my i phone 3gs still wont activate????? can any 1 help pls
90+% of the phones sold on ebay are hacked or jailbroken. The symptom you describe is typical of a hacked or jailbroken phone that was updated or restored. It has either been re-locked to the original carrier, or the damage done by the hack is now preventing it from activating at all.
It may or may not be fixable, but you can not get help with it here. There is a good chance it will never be able to activate.
There is a very slim possibility that the activation servers are simply overloaded by all the new iPhones given as Christmas gifts, but my money is on a hacked, now bricked phone. -

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Iphone 3GS - Sim wont activate
So i recently bought a Iphone 3GS off someone, they reset it all before they gave it to me, when i got it home i plugged it in to set it up etcetc.
I got to the part where i have to choose a language/country/location services/ and then wifi networks, once im connected with wifi,
it comes up with a new screen
''Activating your Iphone - It may take up to three minutes to activate your iPhone''
after a while of waiting it comes up with
''Could not activate iPhone - Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is termpoarily unavailable, Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few mintutes''
I tried again and again and again, no luck, so then tried with itunes, nothing happened.. Besides it telling me that there was no sim card in the phone.
Also in the top left of the iphone it says no service..
please help!I have had this exact problem, with the very same error messages - been trying yesterday and today to resolve it. The only difference is that I haven't bought my iphone 3GS recently- i've had it for 18months and it is only after I updated my software that this all happened. Spoke to Apple and all they have suggested is that I restore it to the original settings again (which I have just done) and still no joy. Just got a new iphone 4 and when i got it it was always hard to get on the wifi but the other day the option to even get wifi went grey and now it wont let me have the option to get on the internet. i have tried eveything i could to get it to work again but it just wont work. hopefully someone can help me out so i can get my internet back on my phone again because i use it alot .

Seriously though, the fix is real easy.
What you need to do is restore your iPod to factory settings and let iTunes reinstall iOS 6. Set the device up as a new iPod, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT restore from a backup. When iTunes completes the reset and your iPod comes up, synch the iPOD. All of your stuff will be synched. Just don't be surprised if WiFi synch does not work.... -

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Sounds like your iPhone was previously hacked/modified/jailbroken and the
update relocked it to the original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that
wireless carrier can unlock it.
Where did you get this iPhone?
What wireless carrier are you attempting to use it with?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?

my mac is 24inch from early , Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 9 (11g63b) . and yes fcpx has been working fine for months now but on my last project it started making me force quit everytime i try to use it now. i followed the steps with reseting the preferances but i didnt work. i also tried deleting the app and reinstalling , and disk permissions all failed. can u help me out?

A divert is a function that allows you to either forward calls to another phone, or directly to answer phone. I'm not 100% if those functions are available for AT&T (I'm from the UK).
Can the iPhone 3GS play music fine? Can the volume be adjusted during playback, and is it loud and clear?
It's also worth checking to see if the "ringtone" hasn't been changed.
Settings > Sounds > Ringtones
Select a different ringtone and it should give you a sample. Try that and see if the phone rings when you get a call.
Are you close to a local Apple store? It's worth getting some 1-to-1 time with one of their Geniuses.
